I try having the app on when I can, but battery life (especially standby time) takes a nosedive when it's running, and my phone already has pretty poor battery life to begin with. Connection can also, at times, become painfully slow, or come to a stop altogether, requiring me to turn the app off and back on when connection re-establishes. I shouldn't have to do that.
This is an excellent solution for those of us who don't have Android Pie. It does exactly what it needs to do without BS. I would love to have the option to add a quick toggle to the Android notification panel, or maybe a widget. Some comments about other reviews: The key icon - That's a feature in Android itself, so there really isn't anything the app developer could do about that. Personally, I like that it shows up so that I know I'm connected. Speeds - You probably won't see a difference in download speeds, so running a speed test won't tell you much of anything. However, websites should load noticeability faster when connected through this app. This might make more sense if you feel like reading about how DNS works, but basically, this helps your device connect to sites almost instantly.

Although it doesn't change the IP address, it's good to use, especially, when a game is showing loading sign, if this 1.1.1.1 is connected, it doesn't show any loading sign and the game runs very smoothly. Also, it also unblocks some locally blocked websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Just one thing. Since it doesn't change the IP address, I don't think it's very safe to use in some countries where there's no freedom of speech. Otherwise, it just makes a good app.
It seems like ever since that major Cloudflare outage in June or July, this app works inconsistently. When it does work, it's great. However, I am finding myself constantly having to disable it to get my internet working again; which was never an issue prior to the outage. I've tried changing my connection between WiFi and cellular, and going into airplane mode; and the only two things that restores internet service is a phone reset or disabling this app. Its just not worth the continued hassle.
OH. MY. GOD. My phone's wifi connection is several times faster!! 😲 I wasn't expecting it to help much, but this app let's my phone load web searches and images in a split-second when it would take a few. Loading videos only takes 2-3 seconds when it took up to 10 before! Phenomenal! Now please excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor! 😂😂😂 It even makes cellular data only connections work faster too! Great for when you're out of the house or when you don't trust public wifi!
For those finding it becomes very slow or won't connect to some choices, go into the apps settings and change how you've set it up to the other option available - I did so and now it's running smooth and fast, and no longer preventing me from selecting anything and not working. It works great now! OTHER THAN creating this app & it's speed/encryption, one of the best things about it is no ads. Ads make apps hokey. Uncaring towards users. I won't use them nor will I pay to end ads. If you don't care for me to make me see ads, I'm already done with you.
Really wanted this to work, but it just didn't live up to expectations. Spotify doesn't work at all on data with this on. WARP seemed to slow things down more than speed anything up. DNS queries for some applications/websites literally take forever. It will just sit and spin trying to make a connection. Sometimes it did work flawlessly. But its not worth keeping until it works better so I don't have to keep turning it off when I really need to get something done.
I like the app, it does what it claims to and it's literally just an "on/off" switch in terms of how to use. I'm getting into mobile games more recently and for some reason i can't connect to them with the service however regardless of mobile data or wifi access. I will repeat that i enjoy it... but I'm saddened that it doesn't always work even though that's likely not the app's fault.
Amazing!! Listen, this is the best by far DNS resolve ever! I tried many many many apps surrounding this same condition where you have slow internet queries and solid streams watching videos. Guys, whatever your doing; keep it up! Don't change a thing about this app it works and works awesomely! Thanks for the hard work into creating something unique! By the way people who are having difficulty keeping the connection, you have to go into your phone's network connection and select VPN if it's available and select keep this connection always on. Hope it helps.
A great app for privacy and speed. What I love most is the one-tap simplicity to make my internet connection faster and more private from my ISP. The speed increase is noticeable most of the time. However, it's important to know that the free version isn't a full VPN for hiding your location from websites, and I've noticed it can sometimes use a bit more battery. Overall, it's an excellent and almost essential tool for a safer Browse experience. Highly recommended!
After I started using this to secure the DNS requests being sent from my phone, I definitely have noticed a small increase in speed while browsing. But the speed increase is a side benefit to the added privacy that this app adds on, it also reduced a few (not a lot like an ad blocker) disruptive ads while browsing too, which was a nice added bonus.
Bought the WARP+ version and it caused problems from the beginning. It clashed with my streaming music services over Bluetooth, and exhibited frequent internet lockups and "not connected to the internet" error messages, even when I have full Wi-Fi and mobile network access, that necessitate a reboot. Even switching it back to non-WARP mode didn't fix things entirely. I uninstalled it and cancelled my subscription. I'll keep my eyes open to see if the app gets better, and I may try it again.
I have given this app a ton of chances but it fails me every time. App is always stuck on connecting; updating connection info. This randomly happens to any device that I have and every time it does, I have to troubleshoot it. It gets tiring. I am going back to AdGuard.
Turns out, it doesn't have anything to do with tunnel protocol... 1.1.1.1 just started working again for some reason. Im so glad i checked it out after years! Just connected with MASQUE now, and no issue at all. Anyway, I'm so happy right now! 1.1.1.1 is by far the best if you need fast internet speed with an great encryption. I used to use it everyday years ago, but somehow it stopped working for two years, and now it is up and running again.
Had some connection issues a while back. Solved by clearing cache and storage in the 'app info'. Newest version doesn't allow you to exclude apps, but turns out I don't need to with this - dlna works without excluding. Real benefits of this app over VPNs is the absence of captcha and cloudflare security checks you get when this is on (vs. PIA VPN and others). Great for what I need as I just want a masked IP (multiple checks with different IP checkers never show my real IP) and little overhead.
Not good on Android and iOS, although it does work on Windows and Mac. Keeping it on desktops as a backup for now. Will add that the subscription option seems pricey for a single device, when I get five devices for the same price on a non-free service I use primarily. I also don't like the fact that cloudflare is not being upfront about the limitations in the free WARP that obviously exist since there is that paid WARP-plus option.
annoying that this software doesn't seem to be working properly. it won't allow me to exclude apps, and it won't load my apps when I open the menu. edit: emailed customer support over a week and a half ago, and still haven't heard anything. no updates to fix the problem, and uninstallung and reinstalling didn't fix it.
Completely unstable. First install had significant issues with connection stability, with the longest period being 5 minutes. Hours of troubleshooting has now led to a message saying "Your device could not establish a connection. Contact your administrator for assistance." Which is odd, because this is my phone, and I'm on my home network. 0 functionality at this point and I'm just exhausted
3 Stars. it was easy to use at first, Easily let me into Roblox and stuff, But as soon as I disconnected it and went to do something, I came back to open it and start playing, It kept running on VERY, VERY, SLOW wifi. it was so annoying, and VERY bad. I'm dissapointed, especially the fact this comes from Cloudflare.
I did some settings on my phone. Since I did it, the app doesn't crash and the warp connection is like kept alive. But I'm just frustrated by the lack of split tunneling features for apps. This feature have been removed, except for some apps like YouTube, Netflix and Google Photos, which is default for those apps. And now, each time I want to use a specific app, I've to disconnect from cloudflare (warp or 1.1.1.1), I can't set the split tunneling for that specific app. Hop this will be fixed.
