The feed is better than the last version. Now the news items are divided into categories while scrolling. You can select the categories in the top menu as well. When you open the app, the headlines are on one side and the photos on the other side. I would have preferred if the headline turned to unbold after reading the news item. However, the same news item is repeated in different categories and it often stays visible for a couple of days. I can't imagine there's no new news to write about...

Awful app. Needs a minus star rating. The news is old and not up to date. I see news from days ago. The sport category NEVER updates, plenty of sport happening but only see old stories, the latest sport news on there currently is from Tuesday and its now Saturday. I have now moved over to a much better news app with way more content. The really annoying thing is the useless developers only respond to positive feedback.

Time to delete the app. This latest update is awful and that's being polite. App crashed 4 times in 60 seconds. The layout, colours, font et al remind me of my granddaughter's learning to read books. You can no longer simply slide from one article to another, you have to come back out, return to the list and open the next article. If I could give it less than one star I would.

Kinda mediocre? I rarely use this app, and this is more due to a lack of content. This is a TV news service yet very few videos are on the app. Radio NZ has live audio, videos and a lot larger volume of news, and is AD FREE. 1 news need to up their game with more video clips available on the app.

Would rate with 5, but won't play any video reports, just plays ads. Annoying. Edit 16/11/19: now it won't play any videos at all, video screen just crashes... Gosh get your things right. It's not rocket science to stream a video.

This is probably my preferred news app now after Stuff ruined theirs. However, selecting a notification only seems to take you to the correct story the first time, and next time it just returns you to the old story - this is a regularly annoying bug.

Omg this is a terrible app. I installed to keep abreast of cyclone news. It nags you with news headlines all the time, yet the news hasn't been updated. It's almost impossible to follow a time line and old news should be archived, but accessible, once it is more than 24 hours old. I am totally irritated by this app and more importantly the children who update it. Get some real journalistic experience

kept getting a technical problems msg telling me to report it if it persists but had no idea how. it did persist on my samsung S20 FE mob. Uninstalled. Rebooted phone. Reinstalled app. Still tech msg. Rebooted phone after reinstalling app. No more tech problem msg. Shall delete this non-review when seen.

Ah is there a reason I can't swipe right to left to go to next article? Don't reinvent what doesn't need to be. Not very user friendly. I won't be using it until it is updated and the simple stuff fixed. Love to hear reason behind the swipe change.

⛔Gone down hill over the years. Now Maori Channel No.2 which shows abundantly in all they do. Te REO accent overwhelms in content & spoken by those that think it's cool. If it ain't broke don't fix it is my retort. Avoid their news hour rather watch 3 news for more balanced content. Where are the shows that have finished streaming. Show them to the rest of us. App is fine but the level of journalism is beyond ghastly. Articles don't contain ANY form of structure, but are a horrible jumble of random quotes and maybe two or three actual sentences written by the 'journalist'. Would rather read a children's book. Even those have a higher complexity of writing.

Tried watching one news in a browser. Seems to be not allowed, only click available is to download the app which I have now done. I still can't watch the news from 6pm today! No linkage to the steam or recording, waste of time. Don't understand why they don't let you view it in a browser.

I have been getting the same news notification for the same news event for days... frustrating. about to uninstall !!!

Was a great app until the latest update/revamp. Now it's so hard to navigate, don't like the way headlines for stories repeat themselves in several sections either. Please change the format back or I will be deleting and finding another news app

Sorry but this app is useless. Go back to previous. Hard to read, not latest stories can't set it to show latest either, split screen in phone b vertical like before not pic on side and story beside it.. I have uninstalled and now read Hub/Stuff. Link to BBC or something.

Useless. BBC World & Al Jazzeracomes from the other side of the planet and are fast, efficient, usefull. One News comes from my country NZ, and it is sad, slow, non-existent, ancient and USELESS. Downloaded app 3 times and still USELESS

Downloaded the app,read a few articles,realised it went all the way back to the top of the feed after exiting a article and deleted the app straight away! Such a simple fix yet even with others complaining already about it nothing has been done Average to poor

The app itself is nice to use but please fix the notifications bug in the latest version. It appears to ignore all preferences and just spams its notifications out for any story posted.

Silly ads cover half your screen and it is very annoying (can't read articles!!!) so I uninstalled this app. It used to be an useful app so I may come back if they remove the stupid ads.

It was a good news app, now it contains far too many ads. Very disappointing! Spell checking and grammar checking would be nice as well.
