As soon as i noticed the version that i had, would no longer play videos, i knew what was coming. More ads, less content. The old version of the app was deliberately prevented from working, to get people to upgrade. The new version is terrible. Way more ads. Way more scrolling. Bigger thumbnails so you can see those ads better. Can't fast forward through ads. Terrible app.

I liked the old one where you can just see the headlines and choose want I want to look into. It also gave me Delco news. It was easier to navigate. I have no idea how to look up school closings or anything else in particular that I'm looking for without scrolling through EVERYTHING!!! This is the first time I visited the app since I wrote my post. I think it's time to uninstall it. The change was a downgrade in my opinion, very disappointed.

No longer allows me to watch without touching the screen every ten seconds. Used to be able to leave it on for hours. It's been almost two months since I've been able to do that. Tried the same on my tablet and the app on there does the same. Am able to watch YouTube videos on both devices for hours without having to touch the screens, so it must be the app and not user errors on my end

I used to love this app .I just did a new download update and it's unusable. it times out every 20 seconds. if anybody has any ideas of how to keep it on aside from data usage or screen time in your settings don't bother to try to watch it live streaming

The update is horrible....Too much animation doesn't need to be this fancy, I just want my news straight without all the extra animation

this app needs an update...it shuts off, stays on spin or loading status. its annoying. it shuts down on its own

The app shows news articles that when you open them becomes really annoying to watch. It keeps getting cut off by ad interruptions. Once in a while you might be able to view a news video. There have also been times when I've decided to read instead of watching but the ad interruptions have not allowed me to finish reading at least one article. This app unfortunately needs work, and that's sad when you live in the Philadelphia area.

Until the latest update loved this app especially for streaming the morning news. Now it's a hassle to try to even watch the live stream. There is no option to watch in full screen, turn the phone horizontal and the two large gray bars for the app make it impossible to see what is being shown. Update: as previously stated there is no button for full screen. I would be happy to include screen shots in an email.

Used to enjoy this app. The app stalls. Then an error message appears with close, wait or another option I don't pay attention to. I usually select wait. It's beyond annoying to keep closing the app and reopening as I have several times. I rarely watch the videos as I prefer to read it. I can choose what stories I'm interested in. Whatever you did when you updated, undo it!

As noted by other users earlier this month, sometime in late September / early October, when the app is opened, after the Welcome screen, the app just starts clocking. Was hoping for an update to resolve this but with none coming, uninstalled and reinstalled app. Problem persists. This was my primary news app. Guess I have to find another.

Notifications from app are appropriate and timely, but clicking them to read the associated article never works properly, and returning to the home page to find the article sometimes results in the article not being there. When the app works properly, it's very good. However, there are glaring issues that need attention.

I have not updated my rating, just the review. This app is sluggish, and this latest update to it took away the ability to stay in dark mode in the notification bar, plus it took away the timing of the notification. I don't know if a storm is hitting now or it had hit while I was asleep. It also has sign in issues. I used to stay logged in, but now I have to sign in every time. I love Action News, but this app isn't the quality I expect from them.

Beautiful when working, if you want it more than one star. You have to have consistency. Poor consistency, your setup does not work. On a consistent basis. Try to stream live, my reminders are set. Wifi-connected. Knoe news. If I'm using hotspot. Knoe news. Next day, everything works beautiful. Wi-Fi home works great Wi-Fi at work works great. Wi-Fi hotspot works great. Then the next day, nothing works. I love ABC news but you have no consistency. Attention definitely needed.

This app is extremely benecial to my life in regards to area news and weather alerts. However, the tracking mechanisms imbedded within are looking for too much information for me to give the app 5 stars. Usually around 265 tracking attempts per hour. Without a tracker blocker installed on my phone this apps "secret" software installed within would drain my battery to death and give third party companies way too much information.

ads have become annoying. they will play 15-sec ads before any video. options to mute sound or pause ad if you don't want to watch a video is disabled during ad. it forces you to listen to the ads unless you turn your media sound down. once the ad is over you then can pause the video or mute it. if you click the x in the top corner, it restarts the ad. if your phone rotates the screen, it restarts the ad. very annoying.

It's infuriating when you shove ads in my face that seemingly function flawlessly. Yet every news video that I try to watch, doesn't play properly. If it wasn't for the capability to read the article I would uninstall this app in a second. Remember, people are getting their news from YouTube, save journalism, and make the app work as intended.

It is always informing of all news in my area and all over the world! Important issues are always available right here on the 6abc app. I wouldn't go a day without reading!! Thanks Action News! My only complaint is that on weekends and holidays it's not updated as frequently and im often left to use other apps to know what's happening in my Philadelphia area. With more "real time" alerts.

New update is horrible!! I cannot see the weather due to color scheme being all one color now and me being color blind!! Everything is all one color now, so thank for that. I can no longer see actual news of the day/top stories. I use the app instead of watching TV because of my mental health and now that peace of mind is gone. I wish you go back to old format or at least let us choose color schemes and layout.

I like 6abc news so I downloaded the app. It hardly works. Whenever I click on a notification I get a blank screen, and nothing happens or, I get a "app stopped working" notice. It only works if I go directly into the app by tapping the icon. Then I have to search for the story I wanted. It's annoying.

I had to take this app down to 3 stars for it's glitches. I like getting up-to-date alerts but when I click on the alert to open a story it never opens on the right one and after a few years of having this app it's beyond annoying. I have to refresh just to get to the current story.
