ABC Action News Tampa Bay

After many issues with the new app (before the name change) freezing or crashing when trying to stream the live show in the morning on my android phone, I'm back to up my rating to 5 stars from 1. This latest update was just what my phone needed, and I'm happily back in business 😎 Thanks, Scripps, for your willingness to help find the problem!! Most pleased with the app once again.

For the last few weeks the app has been showing spam. It pops up with you're the winner of a Walmart gift card and other spam type messages. You cannot get out of it unless you exit completely. It just happened a few moments ago while sharing a news article via text. Also, the app shows it's up to date. I'm not clicking on any of the ads in the app either. Someone is going to get scammed because of this stupid app.

Notifications push out news headlines, but links never take you to those particular stories. Notifications also tell you if an interesting news break is happening on live stream, but the live stream has never worked for me a single time. Always says we'll be right back, never plays. Once in a while I'll get a commercial but no streaming news. Even when I clicked a notification shortly after receiving it, so I know I couldn't have completely missed it yet.

App doesn't work every time you open the app it will stay open for a few minutes and kicks you out. I have to uninstall it and reinstalled the app. Since i did the update the app hasn't been working properly, I also reported the problem multiple times no results. Please fix this problem thank you.

Streaming Commercials????? Using the streaming portion of the app, you have to watch anywhere between 7 to 10 commercials in order to watch one segment of news. And it's usually not really news! The news articles are fine, but are not updated per time of publishing. I'll scroll down and see an article that is listed as posted yesterday or days ago, and it will be updated today. ??? Why do that? Repost it with today's date if you're going to update it. The news anchors are awesome, not the app!

I dont know what got done to this app but the last couple of months, whenever I want to catch the news or replay the news it shows 30 seconds of news and either goes to nonstop Action News commercials or freezes up. It's been uninstalled. Stinks because I refer my trucker friends to the app for the weather when they have a load to Florida, I will refer them to weather.gov from here on out

The app is barely useful. Notifications links rarely, if ever, take you to the article in question. Must scroll through tons of out of sequence articles, many old news, to find the relevant story if lucky. Deleted app for the second time. Hoped it would have been fixed by now but not.

What is wrong with your phone app for Android phones? It needs to be rewritten. Notification links don't work, stories don't load, if you try to view a story horizontally (like full screen) the story trys to start over and never loads. I am a faithful follower of your new cast. Your TV app for both Roku and Firestick work great. Please fix the phone App.

With no power or internet service in a hurricane and precious limited cell phone minutes & battery juice, the last thing I need when clicking on a weather forecast video is an extended series of ads and station promos before the actual forecast. Love the weather team, but hate the app. Not cool, guys.

So, reporting on local news is pretty light. Selatoius headline leads to "Man Dies. More to come." There's nothing more to come! There's no reporting! There's bad grammar and incomplete sentences. If they get an editor, I'll revise this review. Otherwise, check out the CBS affiliate app.

The commercials that run on this app are so loud and frustrating, I'm sure you will quit using it like I have. Every time a commercial airs, you must run for the remote to turn the sound down. When programming returns, it is barely audible. I'm sure we're not the only ones with this problem. Fix it and we will return to using me up. This is the main reason you only got two stars from us.

This app is the worst and a annoyance more than anything else. It notifies you of news but when you tap on it it takes you to the site and you have to look for it among other posts they have made that day. It's always been like this and I waited over a year for them to fix it but nope they are ok with it being the annoying app that it is

Very good news content concerning important local, national and international topics. Weather coverage and alerts during a recent weather event that impacted the Tampa Bay Area was superb. I am still learning about how to use some of the features of the app and am admittedly smart phone technology challenged but am already impressed.

When I get notifications for stories, I click the notification assuming it will take me to that story. It doesn't. What is the point of sending notifications if they don't even link to the story? This has been going on for awhile...

You do NOT have to have a specific cable subcription to view the articles within this app. I've been watching action news for 30 plus years so its comforting knowing i can access at my fingertip & have the top stories, hourly weather & breaking news alerts. 🤙🤙

Notifications do not open the app properly to the page it refers to; news stories within the app don't load. Don't waste your time bringing this newscast to your smartphone because it doesn't work and will only cause aggravation.

Sorry but you discontinued the Pay Version for No Ads, Now that's all it's ALL ADS. I record the News at Home to fast forward through the Ads. I'm certainly not going to watch Ads on my Phone. Bring back the Paid Version and I'll be back.

I always have problems watching their videos. either they don't run or they froze. Still with the same problems trying to see news and this app keeps freezing. Years with the same problem.

app would not allow me to register. says unable to locate email or password account (something to that effect). I was trying to create the account. SUCKS!!

So far I like ABC Action News APP. I can set alerts on my favorite topics. I can see Live News. Only down fall is ads but some of them you can skip.
