It's a decent app for what you get. The gold plan offers very little compared to Robinhood (and it's more expensive), so if I had to do it over, Id choose them. very little stock and etf options all things considered. other apps just blow it out of the water with choices and control. the customer service takes forever and calls are, of course, outsourced to people who have hardly any control over what happens. rarely, are complicated issues resolved. good for set it and forget it invest

After spending a week with support trying to get my account set up for the first time, I ultimately decided that what the app offers isn't right for me. The round-up ideology is marvel, sure, but at the same time, I could just as easily take $5 out of my account and invest it elsewhere without having to pay the $12/month fee. Thank you again to the support team for trying to help, though.

The round ups are really inconsistent. I linked my account and activated round ups and the weekly investment but the only consistent debit was the investment. When I checked on the app it showed it hadn't updated activity in 5 months. I keep having to unlink and relink my account for the round ups to activate. If this continues I'll just go back to a normal savings since this isn't really worth it otherwise. It's supposed to be an automatic thing I shouldn't have to constantly check.

Account was randomly locked for no reason; turns out, you can't use PayPal as a source & they don't inform you of that upfront. Had only invested $10 so far, & after my account was unlocked (after about 1-2 weeks), found out I was charged $5 for "debt collection" (with no additional information provided on that). I had been avoiding using this app before & decided to try it on a whim, but won't be back. Best advice? Open a savings account instead & set up $5 auto transfers.

I've never had a more frustrating first time experience. My account was immediately flagged by an "algorithm" (a poorly trained AI I'm sure) and it was a humiliating process getting it unlocked. The cancelation process was also too long. Edit: I revised my rating from 1 to 3 stars only because of the customer service. I still don't like the app, but customer service was very accommodating and helped me promptly.

Was going to set up a parent account to go with my daughters acorns early, but for no reason my account was flagged and locked. Registered and that was it. Had been looking at the options in it for investing, but now I can't log in and it wants all kinds of personal info. Makes this seems suspicious more than anything. Hard pass for me. May close my daughters account and move to something else as well.

worst investing app i've ever seen or used. They never take the money out of your account when it says. Their estimate could mean the day after, or the next week if they want. Convenience for me not for thee. Use another company, Acorns is the most frustrating service i've used. (I also talked with your customer service team two separate times they were very unhelpful because its Acorns that has bad policy, not them)

I have not really put a lot of time in this app to make a proper review, but I am giving it one date because of its partnership with EarnStar. I signed up through their app and completed all the steps required to get the reward of around $10. However it has been over a week and I haven't gotten anything. I contacted support and after getting pushed off for 3 days they claim there was a technical issue and they can't pay what they owe me.

Seemed great at first, but then I tried to open a checking account and it was all downhill from there. The ID and address verification system is broken. Email support just put me through a feedback loop for weeks, gaslighting me about whether I uploaded the necessary documents, which I did many times. And once I got fed up with the lack of support, predatory policies kept me from cancelling my account before being billed again. Avoid at all costs. They'll treat you like trash and profit from it.

This app used to be fantastic.... until you try and cancel. They WILL AND DO give you the runaround for months, all while still charging you a monthly fee without possibility of refund. I have no money invested whatsoever, yet I've been told that I can't cancel due to "dividends I may receive." It's been over six months; There are no dividends to receive. This complaint had to be brought to the BBB before this company "prioritized my request." I'm still waiting.

I liked this app til I tried to get my money out. 3 months and I still don't have it. I have emailed them several times and they just keep sending automated emails back. Update. They finally did get back to me. And resolved the issue. I received my money. Thank you acorns for that. I added a couple stars. Would add more but the only way to communicate is through email and you use a lot of auto send type to deal with issues.

Pulls change for each purchase. You can set up recurring monthly payments to grow it faster. Except.. the money it pulls doesn't come out immediately. It waits until its added up to $6-7 and then pulls it at once. 3-4 days after it checks your balance. So it has NO way of guaranteeing that your account won't be overdrafted (despite what they say). I got THREE overdraft charges ($29 each). Ended up paying just as much in fees as acorns was saving. Completely defeats the purpose.

All it does is lose money. I initially added some, added a few round ups, and set a recurring payment for every month. It hasn't made me a dime. It just keeps losing. Update: since their generic and completely unhelpful reply, I'll share more results. It lost even more money (still) . I'm so glad I stopped recurring payments with you guys. I'm spreading the word about this app for sure. Maybe you guys will make it easier to close your account in the future instead of keeping people pissed.

The only way this app ever made any financial sense was when there were no fees for students. Unless you have a large sum of money invested, siphoning your gains by a monthly fee is ludicrous. I have never paid an Acorns subscription fee and my account has been inactive with no balance for years. Suddenly, they decided to "upgrade" my account and charge a subscription fee. Luckily I caught it early and was only charged for 2 months. I doubt I'll get those charges refunded, so enjoy my $6 :)

Garbage. Can't even complete the beginning setup process. Keeps telling me my credentials are wrong....I log into my bank account every. Single. Day. The credentials are NOT wrong. I really hate when simple things dont work. I see the commercials on TV all the time. Maybe a little less advertising budget and more in software development. I'll find another one of these services. Very disappointed

Put an initial investment in and after that, nothing happened. When I would log in to the app or the website, it would say my accounts weren't verified. After emailing to figure out way this was the case, they told me I had switched funding sources too many times, so now I needed to verify my accounts. I never actually set a funding source, which means they were switching them automatically, as I linked accounts. The app just said "We're in the process of verifying your accounts." ???

Extremely deceptive app. Reading more into it, I'm seeing the word "fees" come up a bit so... Looked into it and apparently there's a monthly "subscription" fee associated with the app. It is small however, the app doesn't disclose it during the signup process. Not only that, but it was somewhat difficult to find this out. This app is literally just an online banking savings account by Lincoln bank. You unknowingly create a savings account with them in a sense when you create an account.

So this review is for the app and Acorns itself as a bank. Honestly, I am very happy with everything, especially the app experience and customer service. As for the banking part, I love it but a few things stick out to me. One is that I cannot deposit money at any physical location or by taking a picture of my paycheck like with other banks. But maybe thats normal for online banks. Another thing is, I recently ordered a new debit card and there was no way to expedite shipping. Als no tap to pay.

Extremely difficult to close your account - I thought I had closed mine and cashed it out, and I was not charged anything for 6 months. I figured everything was okay! Then, a linked card was used to purchase a Sam's club membership and they gave me $10 in kickbacks in the app that I was unaware of. Promotional money, right? Wrong. They used this "kickback" to reopen my account without asking me, The monthly charge started back up at a really bad time and ended up overdrafting my bank account!!

For the last two days, I haven't been able to log in. It keeps popping up with a message saying, "Oops, something went wrong, try again in a few minutes." I've deleted and re-download the app a few times even tried logging in from the website version, but that doesn't work either. Like fix your app or let me pull my money out. I enjoyed the app since about 2021. I just don't know why it's having issues currently!
