Affirm: Buy now, pay over time

I have "unsubscribed" from their emails atleast a dozen times. I have tried clicking "unsubscribe" & have called and talked to a customer service representative & asked them to unsubscribe me. It has been a month now, so well past the "it may take 2-3 days to take effect" time frame. Here I am, still getting their solicitation emails. They don't care and just keep filling my inbox with junk.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Affirm is a game-changer! The app is simple, and getting approved is so easy. As long as you pay on time, they continue to support you. I love the transparency—you see the exact interest upfront and can choose the best plan, including no-interest options. Customer service is great and easy to reach. Most importantly, it helps me afford essentials like groceries when things are tight. I’ve had zero issues and will definitely keep using them. Thank you, Affirm!

When it works, Affirm is a very fair, very reasonable way to pay for big purchases -- when it works. The problem is that you have to jump through so many damned hoops to get it to work or to verify your existing account that it is a genuine hassle to use. Purchases can be lost by random time-outs, the app refusing to access your device's camera (which it has permission to), or any other assortment of random things. Definitely a mixed bag.

Surprisingly straightforward — both the app & the Affirm "program" itself. The interest that they will charge for each purchase is clearly shown, up front, with options to pay smaller amounts over a longer period (more interest in the long run) or larger amounts over a shorter time (less interest overall). Over the past year & half, I've used it for 8 orders, two of which I've paid off, with no surprise fees. And the interest rates they charge are scarecly much higher than most credit cards!

Affirm has been an absolute blessing for me and my family because it makes purchasing expensive items so much easier. As long as you have a job/steady income and a bank account, you're able to pay over time (usually around 3-18 months, it gives different options). I've been able to use it for both planned and unexpected purchases. Making on-time payments and successfully completing purchases improves your credit score too. Highly recommend!

Member for three years. I gave it previously five stars!! I have two loans with two payments from Amazon, that will end in two months. With a perfect payment record, I applied for a new item at Amazon, for about $190.00. I had to do a pre-approval by Affirm. I was refused, with the available purchasing power of $2,980.00. That makes no sense. I might remove and close this application after the final payments are completed!!!!!!!

I find that AFFIRM is an awesome way to pay for your purchases! I do find the app a bit difficult to use, especially because when trying to increase the amount of my monthly payment amount, it allows for a one-time transaction. However, I can not see how to increase my automated payments to pay more back than originally set up for. How can I increase my automatic monthly payment amount for all future payments?

Absolutely love this app. I have been able to work my way up to an amazing credit level by paying my credit early or on time. This is an excellent way to get what I need and to build my credit. Thank you Affirm! EDIT 3/3/25: After being with Affirm for close to 1½ years, I depend on their consistency, promises, and a large variety of places to shop, keeping me on top of my credit balance. I never have to worry when I shop with them. With steady & current payments my credit score has increased!

It is nice to have an option to pay over time if you didn't expect to make a purchase any given moment. Affirm has been very helpful in this way. Use of there phone app makes it very convenient to see your offered lending availability, details of a purchase, when payments are due etc.... You can shop within the app or online at any merchants site and take a look if merchant provides Affirm as an option. Only negative would be high interest rate but it seems every bank/lender has high rates.

Horrible account design. Your account is attached to a phone number, so if someone else has the number before you and had made an account, they will show up when you use that number to log in. Even though they can adjust it, it still doesn't work on other sites because it thinks it still belongs to the other person. This is a bad design when phone numbers change.

I absolutely love this app! I've never had issues with Affirm and they are my go-to anytime I have an emergency and I need to pay something right away. They have super low fees or no fees at all, depending on what payment option you choose. They give you multiple options as well. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this company. I would also give them a million stars if I could! Their customer service is SUPER FAST! I asked them question about my loan concerning a refund, they fixed it in 2 mins.

I'm a fan of the service in general as it has been very helpful and straightforward. The app is overall very easy to use. I don't like the changes made to the Manage section. Previously I could see the amount and date of the next payment due with just one look. Now I have to click each payment separately just to find those details. I hope it reverts back to the previous format because this new one is rather annoying.

easy to use, but fees are excessive. Use with care as it may not be best choice in pay over time world. look for interest free plans and put off purchases till they are offered as as 35% fees are the norm. my available has dropped to 2150, after 2 years of never missing payments and more than 10 plans paid off. even make monthly payments early. they are probably doing me a favor.

so far the app is working again so I'll give it 4 stars, it seems to log me out once a month or so and then I can't log in for days and then purchases that I needed to make a payment plan in 24 hours weren't setup because I couldn't login and had to pay the full amount upfront from my checking account. it's frustrating when that happens because I really like using affirm, it's a great concept

Can't sign in on mobile. Suddenly logged me out a few days ago, and no matter what I try it won't let me sign back. Forces me to sign in with my phone number, I enter the code it sends me, and then the page goes blank and won't load. Reloading the app, the page, or redownloading the app does nothing. Seems like multiple people are having this issue and their response is to just contact customer support, but customer support is no help either.

App has generally been life saving. I'm not sure if they've under new management but as of the latest update, I've noticed a few bugs that make the service completely unusable. First, when adding one-time cards to Google wallet, it no longer tells you to remove the last one, so they stack. The app crashed as I was making a card. When I reopened the app, I was being allowed to make another card while having one active. I canceled and all of my purchasing power vanished. Now, I can't take loans.

After the recent update, the app won't let me login. It sends a code to my phone, I enter it, then it goes to a blank screen. I've tried dozens of times on different days. I've tried clearing cache (on the affirm app & google chrome app since logging in takes you to a browser), uninstalling & reinstalling the app several times. I spoke to customer service, but that was the most useless option. They just kept telling me to try to same steps over & over again. Please, fix your app.

One of the best ways to pay over time. Beats a credit card hands down. Full disclosure of all costs prior to confirming purchase. Interest doesn't keep compounding like with credit cards. Amount confirmed at purchase is full amount and doesn't change. Have stopped using my credit cards and only use this.

Affirm is great until you have a problem! I have not been able to get into my account for the past 3 days. No one can help me! There is no real tech support department! I'm just trying to pay my loan! it's annoying Calling customer service is a JOKE! nobody can assist I've called customer every day for the past 7 days. Somebody is always going to call me back or email me. NOBODY EVER DOES. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

was working when I first installed and signed up but now about 2 weeks ago I tried to sign into the app but it loads then sends me back to the sign in screen as if I didn't just try to sign in after doing the text message step, last week I called a specialist and they was no help at all I was told that they will look into it. It has been a week since then. Other than that I do enjoy the app when It works.
