For the most part, I think it's a good app. I think it needs to be easier to update that you have participated that day. Currently, the only way I have been able to reach that is by entering the app, viewing the web page, logging into HQ, editing the profile and then from there going to the events page. There has got to be a easier and less time consuming route to do that. Additionally, selecting that you have participated should be based on the calendar day (date) instead of on a 24 hour cycle.
Fantastic organization, but the app is absolute trash, so hard to navigate, it constantly, on its own switches kids names with my name, donation names dont show up correctly. it opens multiple web browsers with broken links or again switches with kids profile I'm on. It really needs an upgrade
no adds good to use and i also have heart condition since this was helpful to some one I'll say what happend, so when I was young they figured out I had a heart condition and had to stay in the hospital for a long time I dont know how long exactly but the condition is stage 2 heart block skips every other heart beat
good app but really hard to sing in
It may be convenient if you are trying to easily raise money, but honestly the website works well enough for that. My issue with the app is that they get the kids all excited about making their stickers and heart heroes come to life with the augmented reality part of the app. Then it turns out that not all phones are compatible with that feature. I downloaded the app last year because she was desperate to use that feature. It worked last year. Now this year it says my device (same phone) is not compatible. Not all of us get new phones every year or 2. It really shouldn't be so complicated that a 2 year old phone can't work with the feature.
This app tries every single way it can to datamine your info and asks 100 times to upload pictures and videos of your kids.
it's fun and entertaining and we get to do Finns mission
*UPDATE* almost 5 years later and this app is worse than before. It doesn't even do anything after I log my child on. It's just blank, with no activity, with the American Heart Association emblem. The website works far more better. Don't recommend. *2018* App doesn't connect to FB or email contacts. It's only good for seeing my children's progress.
The app doesn't really work. I'd rather use the website. Upon installing and scanning my collection envelope, VR things were popping up everywhere but none would stay in the frame. The how-to videos are the same. Bouncing around my screen but not actually able to be watched. Pretty disappointing.
Need to create an account??? My kid wanted me to scan their little keychain figurines. It's bad enough I had to install an app to scan something that should be a QR code. When it prompted me to create an account I uninstalled it. My wife actually had an account so I told my kid to bug their mother. She tried to use it and can't because apparently there's no active challenge going on. This app is giving me heart complications.
Easy to navigate, the only thing that was frustrating was when trying to donate inside the app, it was freezing, so I had no idea of we had actually donated. It wasn't until after we closed out we realized that we had made the donation twice. Other than that the app is great.
Glitchy. It started glitching where I can't log the days in the challenge; it won't scroll to show it. I can't change it back to "be kind" when I can get to that part. Made a self donation and it's not checking that challenge off and that's all she needs to finish all 8.
The only thing I've seen so far that needs improvement is the games/arcade and camera section because everytime I try to use it for my child to get more points etc it errors out and says that portion of the app isn't working. If you can get that working I'll gladly give five stars.
I'm all for the cause but this app is needlessy complicated and not intuitive at all. I should not have to spend an hour and a half just trying to set it up for my kindergartner becaise the school is promoting it only to be frustrated when I do something wrong and have to start all over. Try again. 3/5 for the cause
Over the course of several days. I tried to install this app for my son's heart challenge several times and failed. I have gone through the steps check my wi/fi. I cleared the cache through my settings and still have absolutely no luck downloading this app. . I have a feeling that the same exact thing happened to me last year also. Is there anything I can do to get this app to work? Thank you.
Didn't register donations properly and it's now giving a ton of pop ups and I can't stop them. I'm telling our school not to use this next year. I fully support the cause but this app is full of glitches everywhere and no way to ask for help through the app.
As far as everything works fine but the scan for heart image says my phone is not compatible yet I scan lots of items and barcodes. Therefore my daughter is not allowed to collect her Finn charm due to the AR not working properly. Such a shame and it has her very upset cause she is working hard to raise money ☹️.
Last badge wont update. We scanned the heart check multiple times. The heart comes alive and my son loves it. But it doesnt give us the badge that he scanned it. It's the last one! We also cant get the games in the arcade to play. It just keeps saying scan a flat surface to play. Nothing works.
Agree with the others saying the camera won't work for the arcade. Keeps saying my phone is not compatible. It's frustrating that my kids can't complete the Finn Challenge because we don't own an iphone. I know that education and raising money is the main goal here, but let's face it, earning those prizes in the process is everything to 5-7 year olds! Please fix this!
I don't like that installing an app is part of the challenge. I don't really use apps but for my daughter to get all of the badges, I have to install it. And then...it's not working and the badge won't light up for her. How about badges for things like jumping rope, taking a walk or eating vegetables for supper instead of a sedentary activity like playing yet another game on yet another app. Sort of defeats your purpose, doesn't it?
