It's pointless. When you press the App history button on your phone (bottom far left or far right), it shows everything you were doing on all of the Apps . No one else is able to unlock your pin, but they can still see your previous messages, calls, emails, files, pictures, just by pressing the App history button. This is a major fail and must be corrected.
The app was pretty intuitive and easy to setup and use. The free version is useful but the advertisements were quite obtrusive. I ALMOST bought the app until I realized it could be uninstalled without a password. Just go to the app drawer and uninstall it. I thought the purpose of an app locker is to add a second layer of security to your device by preventing somebody from accessing certain (or all of your) apps. It isn't much of a security layer if an intruder can simply uninstall it. The app does auto-run when the device starts up but it does't auto-run fast enough and I was able to start locked apps upon start-up of the device.
Great app. It does do what it says. It is easy to use. However people can still see what's in the locked apps in your "recent apps" . Also, sometimes it doesn't really lock the apps. It will glitch and allow them to be opened. The number of ads has become ridiculous. Every other time I want to access a locked app an ad pops up.
Generally, it's a good app lock - but not great. The curtain for the fingerprint reader doesn't open regularly with the assigned apps; I'd say 80% reliability. The alternate method of opening via the PIN pad works, but the pad itself is way too small. It needs to be the size of most phone app dial pads; it's less than half of that. I bought the 1-year premium subscription and if these two issues aren't improved I won't renew.
Was good for a while. Did what it was meant to, until about the second or third day I had it when it started annually asking me to upgrade or watch an ad every time I try to unlock something. Gave me 5+ minute ads and upon skipping it would force me to rewatch it. Not worth it, immediately uninstalled and looked for an alternative. Should not have to watch an ad to get into my own apps. I wanted something fast & easy, this was not it.
This (2-star) rating will change when this issue is resolved. I downloaded the (free version)app 3 days ago. It works well and does what it says, but the adds are ridiculous, so I decided to suck it up and pay. Here's the problem, every time I select to upgrade to a subscription regardless of which one, it fails and says "Something went wrong on our end, please try again." So, now I'm stuck with these ridiculous adds, because I cannot upgrade. Help!!
This app is overall pretty good, but I have a huge problem with it. When you launch a locked app, sometimes it will it will force to watch an ad to continue to unlock it. This is annoying, and it essentially makes the fake crash setting useless because if anyone goes through your phone, they can obviously see you have a lock app. If you're going to make us watch an ad, make it so that we have to watch it AFTER the app is unlocked. If this gets fixed, I'll change my rating.
It works majority of the time, however, there has been a huge problem whenever they update the app that forces me to have to reinstall. I can live with that. The biggest issue is how the fingerprint scanner rarely pops up when I open up an app. I'm using the z fold 7 and it rarely asks me for my fingerprint. I don't want people watching me use the pattern, but that's what I'm stuck having to use majority of the time.
This app works awesomely for keeping the people you don't want out of your personal stuff. But you can still access and delete the apps you've locked if you go to >Settings >Apps >Recently Opened apps in settings, I recommend fixing that or coming up with a solution. I lastly hope you can make the Thief Capture system more versatile so it works better offline. Other than that your software is excellent. UPDATE: Now when I hit 'Forgot Password', it buffers for a second and then says 'error'.
One small problem. If you are opening a locked app and select "Forgot Pattern", it exposes the locked app as it changes to the "Enter Pin" screen. I suppose this isn't a major issue for most people, but if you are locking an app that you would prefer not to be exposed, whomever is attempting to unlock it will be able to see what you were working on.
I have used app locker for months and loved it until the last few weeks. I have play pass which should give me no ads. I also paid for premium on top of it so I should be ad free. I have emailed the devs twice before leaving this review, but the issue is not fixed. I keep getting prompts to pay for premium and have to watch long ads to open my apps. It is incredibly frustrating. I believe I'm owed a refund, but I would gladly take getting the issue fixed. Then I will change to 5 stars

The only fault so far is the ads this app has ALOT of ads but it's free so I guess I can't complain. I have tried literally 7 lock apps now and this is the only one that has done it's job without fault. It does though sometimes allow the user to see the app content for a second before the crashing icon comes on though, and the ads will pop up when you click on the app allowing the person to realize that you have an app lock on your phone. I would give it 5 stars if that could be fixed.
Honestly this app was great. I was using it for months, it was incredible, so easy to use and it locked your apps very well. Except last update. The last update was a mess. You unlock your app and an ad comes on and is basically telling you about the premium version non-stop. And sometimes it even forgets to lock your apps. And I can already see a bunch before it locks. I'm sorry. But until something changes with the updates. Uninstalled.
I didn't last a day. The video ads were annoying and became more intrusive throughout the day. Often I would open an app, put in my password, watch the video then it would open the app only to lock it. This would go in circles until I gave up, closed out and tried again. This glitch, along with the intrusive video ads after ever unlock, lead me to delete this app to find a better option for me.
The app appears to be useless on Chromebooks. I chose it because it's one of the few that was able to block the Play Store on a chromebook. However, my 7 year old was easily able to uninstall this app (and others) and then access anything she wanted. It works on my Galaxy phone, but not on the Chromebook. 5 stars if it did.
I've been using this app on 2 kids phones for awhile and it was great. However, this week we changed to new phones (still higher end Samsungs) and suddenly the app doesn't work reliably. It takes a while to start when the phone is restarted which is on one hand understandable and on the other unacceptable and randomly just does not lock anything unless I go into the app and turn off and then back on. It's exempt from optimization so it's not that. Just isn't working for me anymore.
AWFUL APP! I don't understand why Google doesn't automatically let you choose what you want to lock out. I had that option with my OnePlus, I locked so many apps without a new for an app. Tried this app and it needed my "verification" to uninstall while I did that it kept jumping to an ad. Stay away! Pointless app is pointless. Who knows if the paid is any good but I can't agree to any app that blocks me from uninstalling it.
Overall good. The only thing I find to be a major problem (at least for me) is that it automatically allows fingerprint passcode no matter what your settings are. There is no way to turn it off. I am not the only one with a thumbprint saved to this phone but I don't want them going on specific apps that's why I wanted an app lock. When they fix that problem I will redownload.

I know I'm sounding cliché but I have, in fact, tried a lot (not all) of app lockers and this one is the real deal. What I like most about it is how seamless it is, how invisible it is until it's needed, how quickly it disappears again and of course how well it works and the level of security provided. The UI is nice, plenty of features that are useful and not bloat and simply does it's job superbly. 5 stars and would award 6 or 7 if provided.
I have Google Play Pass so I was able to get the premium version of AppLocker. The app works like it should and the "magic" features, like random keyboard for pins, is useful. The one thing that's missing is a location- or WiFi-based lock feature. I'd like to select addresses, like my home or home network, where I don't need my apps locked. Once I leave my address/disconnect from my home network, the app should activate automatically. That would make it 5 stars for me.
