My friends stopped complaining to me about being green(or was it blue), so major plus, but the program is pretty inconsistent. I cannot send pictures and GIFs; and, every once in a while I cannot see pictures sent to me in the message area and I have to save them to my phone then open it up outside the app. I am assuming that reactions to messages is a hard restriction to overcome because that is not a feature, but wish it was.

Works once in a while. Right now it won't even connect to the Internet on my phone. When it does work, it lags, it crashes every use, and double posts. Most often you need to manually check and it will connect to you Mac running the server. Not dependable but the effort was made and it's free.

I prefer Android, but am required to carry a work-issued iPhone. While I can get my email on my Android phone as well as forward my calls, my dispatch pages were locked to my iPhone due to being unable to auto forward them. This setup is the solution to my problem! Both SMS and iMessage forwards equally well and very quickly. Running the server on a used Mac Mini 2010 I picked up on eBay solely for this purpose.

This app is amazing. Lets you send and receive iMessages and send and receive media. I wish there was typing feedback and maybe a sticker pack or two but this is obviously in development and so far its awesome! The server is reliable, messages send and receive smoothly, it's great! To everyone complaining that they need a Mac... Please stop. That isn't the app or the app developers fault. You literally need an Apple device for iMessages, and this is as close to a workaround as is possible.

Great app. Allows me to chat with my friends who have iPhones, and still havey personal luxury of using Android. I use it as a separate app than my default, even though there are options for that, as at some times it isn't entirely reliable. I found that if you get your apple friends to add your icloud address to your contact, it will always look normal on their side. Normal messages go through well, even though there's some times I need to restart my server in order to send iMessages.

Update: Apple slowly latched onto my Mac 'host' and slowed its reception of messages to the point of the process being useless. On the good side it took them more than a year. Uninstalling. == Once the app is setup and linked to a Mac computer, it's all pretty seemless. I have a few people say to me "hey you have blue messages now!". Once the inline responses are integrated (ie 👍♥️ etc) and the fallback to sms when iMessage doesn't send, such as to new people, the app will be perfect.

So far it is really good for keeping up with text messages. I have had just a few issues. With the Read Receipts, even tho I have this selected, people are telling me they cant see when i have viewed the message. Syncing past messages seems to give me and error or just clear out all of my messages. Sending and receiving images doesn't seem to work 9/10. I know that seems like a lot of negative however for just messages I am just surprised at how well the core function works. I hope the other things will be fixed over time. Also, if you have any option to receive donations please make that known. I think you would get a lot of support. I know I would help the cause.

Works fairly well for the most part, standard messages send without a problem, pictures are usually fine, videos however are a struggle for me even if I'm on a 5ghz connection on the same router as the Mac that's on a wired ethernet connection, just fail to send sometimes and usually get quite compressed. I also can't watch videos I recieve directly from the app I have to save them to my phone.

I love this so much, its been a bpessing being able to keep my wonderful S10 and converse with Iphone users in their natural habitat. I wish I could react to messages like the exclamation, laughter, heart, etc. Also, the effects and game pigeon would be nice as well. However, I know this is still anwork in progress.

Works perfectly once you set it up. The only issue I have at times is that I have it running on a computer I don't use daily and I do have some connection issues. I have the computer on never sleep however if I go 4 or 5 days without using the computer I wind up with connection issues on the application. I've used this app for many years and upgrades it's works better now then ever.

Works fine for most messages. I can almost never get pictures or videos to send however. Sometimes it will even try to send an old picture that failed to send when you select a new one from the gallery. If these issues were fixed I think I could switch off of ios fulltime for sure though, so its a great app in general

great work. this app is not for everyone. i do mobile development myself. sometimes, I need to use an Android phone for a while, the iMessage is the only thing that drives me nuts if I don't use iPhone. all my family use iPhone, those blue message group is a killer if you understand what I'm saying. i had the similar idea as this, thought about implementing one myself, but it's too much work. I'm really grateful that someone did it already.

Works pretty good for what it is, but the app does have its shortcomings. Pros - Messaging is almost instant (I recommend the Java startup), group chats work great, if your Mac is on High Sierra or up you can see tapback reactions, and photos, videos, and voice messages send okay. Almost 5/5 Cons - Can't send tapback or see subject lines, port forwarding isn't always available or working (but luckily there are workarounds on the subreddit), and not everyone can have a separate Mac running 24/7.

This app works excellently. The interface looks great and it does a good job of re-creating the iMessage interface on Android. Yes, you need a Mac but that's the case with any iMessage workaround on Android. I had used another app in the past (weMessage) and AirMessage is far superior in every way. Better interface, less bugs, loads all messages and content without issue, installation on the computer is easy, etc. Big thanks to the developer for making an amazing app!

This app helped me switch to Android. If it wasn't for this app, I'd still be using an iPhone right now! Hopefully apps like this will kill Apple's iMessage plan, and eventually convince them to adopt RCS! I do have some issues with the server disconnecting. Sometimes I have to log into my remote desktop and restart the server from my phone. Other than this, everything else works fantastic.

This app/service 8s nearly perfect. This app has been a lifesaver in my switch to Android full-time. My family and friends haven't noticed a thing because to them nothing as actually changed. As I mentioned before this app is ALMOST perfect. If it's at all possbile... PLEASE add support for the long-press reactions. I do missed using those.

Not Terrible. But really not worth it either. After using iPhone with iMessage for the past 5 years, I recently switched over to Android. Of course I wanted to find something that give me the iMessage experience, look & feel. Although my messages showed up on my contacts as coming from iMessage, it really didn't do anything else. There's no typing indicator, there's no "like" or quick response like iMessage, and several of my contacts I wouldn't get updates from my Mac OS imessage (apx. 25%), so many messages went missing. In summary, it DOES work, but having jump through the hurdles, set up a Dynamic DNS, port forward, use an independent MacOS, all just to get my text messages showing up in the same color as everyone else, just isn't worth it. If the features of iMessage come available down the road, then perhaps I'll come back, and even donate to the developer. He obviously works his butt off for the app to have gotten as far as it has.

This app works so well I love this app. Once you set it up right, it works great. I just wish a few things were added. First, I wish it has an integrated SMS client so it would be just like messages on iOS. I also wish it has the typing bubbles, but this might be too hard to integrate. I also wish it worked with the Samsung keyboard stickers. Some affects with the fireworks don't work. Theres a glitch with contacts on the server app where your message will be sent to the bottom most email.

AirMessage is amazing. When it works. I'm not sure if this is due to an increase in AirMessage Cloud popularity, very poor error handling, or both but some messages do not send and aren't even transferred to the server. Sometimes force stopping the app works, sometimes restarting the server works, sometimes nothing works and the message never sends. Also attachments sometimes "time out" immediately without even trying to download. My Internet provider doesn't let me directly connect either.

AirMessage soes what it says it says, it allows iMessage to work on Android. The app is missing some modern features compared to most other messaging app but it does the basics perfectly. After reading the about me information on the developers website, I can not ask for a better app. Thanks Cole! Note: The app does not work out of the box and requires some setup on the end users end. Information in detail is found on the developers website.
