I only wanted the 2 day trial and tried to uninstall the app the following day. Only to constantly be told that there was an error connecting to WIFI but I have an unlimited data plan. I've been charged the $29.99 fee and my wait time to talk to you is always over 50 minutes. It's cool to link my other phone and use it as a security camera but that's it. Maybe if you upgrade me for no charge I won't try to get a refund. So I say touche.

This updated version makes the user click the "I'm still watching" button every 5 minutes, unless you buy the upgrade. That's not an exaggeration. And since I've upgraded and now no longer need it, I cannot unsubscribe. USERS---Beware of Chinese apps, this is not the first one I've had a terrible time trying to cancel a subscription with. They make it so hard so you give up trying!

This might be a good app. I found too many glitches trying to set it up and the pictures were too unreliable in orientation and availability. I was interested in a monitor to cover just a few hours between 6 and 10 in the evenings. It was easier to leave the camera on movie and record the entire period for review later than it was to use this app and it was more reliable. to me it's not worth any money.

the only thing I don't like which could potentially be a really big deal, is that occasionally the camera will loose connection for periods of time. So as long as you don't have any issues when connection issues are happening all should be just fine. Except for the fact it's impossible to control the outcome in those types of situations

paid for premium for the features, come to find out that they have another even higher tier of premium called "Premium Plus Annual" so you have to pay for an entire year, and instead of being 25 a year with the discount it's 40 a year after the discount. ridiculous that you need such a high tier for all of the best features of the app. I understand paying for the storage of 30 days instead of 14 days, but the other software locked features like AI detection is just anti consumer for bad reasons.

If you can't be home 24/7 watching the camera, this app is useless. Old phones that they say can be a good option for security are not. Well, unless that phone has a operating system that allows you to put apps on a SD card. I paid the price for premium cloud storage then was told in a email, that the internal storage on my phone did not have enough storage and that was why I could not see back for more than 2 hours. Isn't that what cloud storage is for?

Used to be reasonably priced. The price has gone up considerably. I was a paid user last year but the app is constantly having issues with the phones, losing connection for various reasons even though it's supposed to be set to "always on top." Too unreliable to be "security." The free plan is worthless. You can "see" the feed, but not access any recordings, so unless you're able to do nothing but stare at your phone all day watching the feed, it's not going to show you anything.

Even though I had never tried an app like this before, I was still skeptical. But I have to say, it has more than met my expectations. Works REALLY great!! 10/12/25: I haven't been using the app for a little over a year due to no wifi for 2nd phone, but I have WiFi now & I needed to use the app again. When I got the 2 phones running the app, I quickly discovered that you can't do anything useful with the app anymore, like recording in any way without buying a subscription. Useless now

You will permanently lose your subscription after you log out the first time. There is no way to contact support in the app. Attempting to sign up for premium again just tells you that you're already subscribed. the only tech support advice is to log out and log back in. I have 3 different phones with this app, and none of them can access my premium account. The free version does pop ups every 30s so you can barely use it at all.

Alfred has saved me so much money on security cameras to monitor my home and office while I'm away. You can use any old device with a camera to set up and either watch live or turn on the motion detection to get notifications when it detects movement. It really is a great app! I've been using it for over 7 years now. At first, I was using the free version. But after being a loyal customer for so long I decided to upgrade to the paid monthly subscription. Totally worth it! Thank, Alfred!

This is the worst security app I've encountered. It is full of glitches, first, if you turn the watermark off, it doesn't save and toggles back on when you turn your camera back on again. Second, continues recording is also broken as it doesn't always work. Third, the events recorded sometimes save sideways contrary to the cameras original position. Fourth and last, you can't view events when you switch to viewer on the primary device when switching from camera mode.

I've used Alfred for many years. Little by little, with the free version, things are taken away. An example is that I was able to playback short video instances . NOW to have that ability, Alfred is trying to force me to sign up for the paid version. I understand them wanting $, but they have had advertisements in their app.(Revenue). I guess it's time to search for another app (Competitor)

I have used this app for YEARS. I kept using it every time they added more and more ads to the Basic membership... (I know they've got bills to pay!) But now I'm expected to upgrade just to replay my events? I DON'T THINK SO. I was perfectly happy with the Basic membership until now. You can hardly call it "Basic" if you have to pay for one of the most important features. I'm not gambling away my safety just because this company got greedy. See ya'!

I like it, however, it does disconnect quite often. I recently thought I'd sample an upgrade, thinking that might be better, but no, it still disconnects. It seems every time there's something going on that I want to view live OR replay, those are the times it disconnects often. I do like how I am able to zoom in/out though, that's a cool benefit.

Worked great for years. Didn't mind the ads, I know they needs to make money. Recently we set it all up to watch our cats while we were gone for a couple days and was pretty surprised to see I can't watch events (yes, Alfred, I know you can download each event one at a time, but it's still just purposefully frustrating the user to force us to go to your subscription. Well I'm tired of everyone wanting infinite money. If you wanted a one time fee I'd pay it) Going to find an alternative.

Alfred was a five star app for me and I loved it. However, features such as Playback and Events have recently been removed from the standard functionality and instead have been replaced with an annual/monthly subscription service. I don't recall being notified of that change, but it's possible I missed it. Either way, it's pretty disappointing and drastically changes how useful the app is for users that don't wish to subscribe to yet another service. I'd much rather a one time payment.

Do not upgrade! I enjoyed the basic version for many years, and I had no advertisement notifications. I upgraded to the paid version a few months ago, and now I get at least 5 every week sent to my phone. They also still have ads in their app. It's ALL their own ads!!! I emailed them and they said they didn't know how to turn those off and would try to work on it. This is ridiculous.

Almost unbelievable with how well this works. Easy to set up and navigate through the interface. One of my must-download apps when I get a new phone. Never know when you might need it... 08-01-22 Just keeps getting better. As long as you're signed in on the phone/phones you want to use and everything is up to date, you can leave your home without having Alfred on and it'll still instantly turn it on and bring your camera up. This is a very convenient app to have.

Doesn't capture full events. Has a tendency to crash a lot. Not useful if you aren't present to restart the device. This is on a brand new galaxy tablet with all settings set according to troubleshoot and strong uninterrupted internet connection. If you are depending on this to monitor the care of a family member or watch your home while out, it is not reliable enough. Better for a nursery camera where you are able to go in and fix the camera. This review is for full (paid) version.

That was a severely CHEAP and rotten thing to do with your most recent update!!! You took all the basic abilities we could always use for years, and NOW you made it so that we have to upgrade to use the simple basics. There's no point in calling it a free version anymore. It has zero options now and is pretty pointless. SHAME ON YOU. GREEDY.
