I really like getting the meta info on the news, and it tends to focus on the major stories of the week rather than flooding you with a 24/7 news blast. My only quibble is a functional one- the articles only open in the app's built-in browser, which doesn't let you browse anywhere from the article you are looking at. It would be nice to have an option to open any news links in your phone's default browser. Otherwise, this is my favorite news app!
I like the concept, but find the app hard to use. It is far too sensitive to touch. Everytime I'm reading an article & scrolling, I have to go very slowly, or it switches me to another page right or left. The ads also pop up far to frequently; I can't even get a couple of paragraphs read. 1/2/2022, Update: changed star rating from 3 to 1. I am uninstalling app. Easy too much of a hassle for my news.
please check what color text is (perspectives)... black text on black background is unreadable black text w/ white highlight on black background is unprofessional but workable
I love this app! I want news, not bias. This app both gives me facts as they are known, AND access to what all the major news agencies are saying, and how they are saying it. 10 out of 10. Thank you, AllSides.
Good App, as long as it's working. Suddenly and for no reason I always get the message "Something went wrong! Please try again." But nevertheless how often I try to refresh, it does not change anything. The issue only occures when I use Wifi. Via 4G the app is working properly.
I'm having the same issues as others. I downloaded the app but when I try to open it, it only shows the first four flip-through screens. Except for I don't even have buttons at the bottom showing, I just have four screens. Nothing says skip or continue fix it developers, it'd be great to get easy news from you instead of some of these other more biased sources.
this App has some issues now. Had used it thoroughly to research issues along All side of media bias for several years as one of my primary news apps, however it won't even open now. I'd give it 5star once fixed. only thing it could improve is the homepage coverage of different issues could lean towards hot topics that don't aways measure up to the hype.
Update: After looking at other reviews, I found that the way to get past this is hidden behind phones navigational buttons. Found a very small point to get past this and actually access the content. Upgraded to 3 stars now, but still needs to be addressed. Pointless. Literally scrolls through 4 screens describing what allsides is. No way to get past the 4 screens. No actual news. Waste of phone space. Wonder what was really installed at this point...
After using this app almost exclusively for the past year, I think this is an excellent way to stay up to date on the current national and international news. I love how each major headline typically provides a news article from the left, right, and "center" (although I personally believe no news source can ever be truly unbiased/center). You don't just get an analysis of WHAT is happening according to these different sources, but HOW each side of the media covers it. And NO ADS!
I'm moving to their website due to constantly facing errors in the app. I've loved the app and articles for years now, but the last few months the app has been degrading and becoming unbearable, if not impossible to use.
Good app to easily get access to multiple news sources talking about the same thing. It's nice to see the different views and then be able to make my own decision on which I trust or like more. I really wish there was a widget feature. I'd love to have an easier access to view the daily articles from my phone's main screen.
App presents good articles, but the ability to swipe left and right to view a different article makes it so you can't effectively scroll vertically. The side swiping is super sensitive. I try to scroll down to the next paragraph in the article and end up switching articles 3 times and loading several ads. It's made the app almost unusable.
App worked for a few weeks then stopped. It opens but doesn't load anything anymore - just acts like it's loading and never does. I got an error saying the developer needs to fix a bug before it will work again. PLEASE fix it ASAP!!
This has been a great app to show multiple view points. however, the past couple of days it has failed to open. I uninstalled and reinstalled and that made it freeze at the opening welcome screens. I want it back!
Even though I lean right on many issues, I think it's good to step outside of my bubble and consider other perspectives. This app presents the news, but also shows how other news outlets (Left, Right or in between) report on the same issue. An overall good experience so far!
Love this app. Being able to see the headlines from left right and center sources neatly juxtaposed side by side is enlightening enough on it's own to win me over to the concept. Haven't run into any issues accessing the articles that I find myself wanting to read into more. This is a fantastic non-biased news aggregate
Forget about this app being usable for free anymore. It flips right & left for a different perspective on a story even when I'm being very careful to scroll vertically. And then yet another ad locks up the screen for several seconds at a time. Great news service, terrible medium.
The app will not open. All I can see are the introduction pages telling me what the app CAN do but it doesn't do anything. The SKIP button at the bottom is grayed out. The check mark at the bottom of the last page is also grayed out.
Would love to use your app but I cannot open it. The buttons used to open the app and explore the news are behind the navigation bar at the bottom of my Android phone, and I cannot click on them. They are unclickable. 😢
Most articles are just links to paywalls. Hard to get the full story. The majority of articles selected are about trump. Lacks diversity of news. ( i.e. no sports, no funnies or crosswords, not much science, very little pop culture. ) After all its effort to give you "all.sides" the reader is left feeling only given very basic boilerplate synopsis of how major news networks covered the topics, but very little journalism, mostly just links to paywalls.
