Amex Canada

simple and easy , what I like. so far so good as I'm new to Amex. if anything changes when I make my first payment or need to freeze my card, change my pin etc and there's issues, I'll update my review. Until then , it's good ! still great months later lol. great card too! just waiting to see if I get a credit limit increase through the app, and how seamless and simple that is! 🤞

The app itself is quite good, but there are significant limitations. As someone who works in both Canada and the U.S., I have accounts in both currencies. Unfortunately, you can’t download both the U.S. and Canadian versions of the app on one phone. As a result, I need two phones just to manage my accounts on the go.

Honestly one of the better banking apps available associated with a CC. Haven't had an issue, It works. Returns from Amazon are posted in 2 days, payments from the app are now .. I just wish there were more retailers in my area that accepted it. Even klarna and afterpay won't use Amex ... Amex seems in alotta ways instant like a debit card ... Also someone stole my wallet started tappN everywhere, gave police report # within 3 days all resolved and had a new card in hand ... Amex is good. 👍

great app, great service. not sure about the points system yet. I joined Amex because I was supposed to get bonus points if I spent more than X amount in the first 6 months, but then they changed it to 3. I also asked for a credit increase which was denied, not sure why because I have very good credit and have never been denied. They asked me to review so I did.

After 6 years of perfect payments, Amex slashed my credit limit from $18,000 to $6,900 without notice. Customer service gave vague excuses and no real solution. If you value your time and money, think twice before using Amex — even loyal customers can be penalized harshly.

I love Amex and the app. Customer service is exceptional. The CSRs are always helpful and polite when I've had questions about card benefits or needed assistance. The benefits are worth every penny and the fact that I can convert them to other rewards programs is even better. Thank you Amex.

if they added the chat option back it would be great, specially if your living in an apartment you dont want to be too loud when you're calling them or wake anyone up

well designed, easy to navigate. I wish all CC Apps were this simple in their design and layout.

Booking travel is a nightmare with this app. Continuously logs me out before I get a chance to complete the transaction. It often takes 2 or 3 attempts before it either works or I give up and use my computer. Very annoying and no support for Amex Travel

The Amex app is powerful and packed with features, but it can feel very busy and not very intuitive at first. There’s a lot going on, and it takes some time to figure out what you actually need versus what you can ignore. Once you get past that learning curve, you do start to get used to the unnecessary elements and appreciate the functionality. Overall, it’s a solid app, but it would really benefit from a cleaner, more streamlined user experience.

for information regarding your account , it functions well. For everything else such as booking hotels and flights, likely the worse site ever. On numerous occasions I have had problems with the online site, I have also contact customer assistance in this regard. nothing ever changes, same old obsolete useless site that barely functions while traveling.

Amex gave me a 13k limit so we could travel the world then dropped it to 1700 a short time before booking out hotels flights and rentals.... GUT WRENCHING, FEELING KNOWING THAT WE MAY NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR THIS TRIP NOW.. never missed a payment and have good credit... i think it's terrible to treat customers in this manner but whatever. I will apply for the TD Aero plan when we return to Canada 🇨🇦. keep in mind, this company can screw you over at any moment. Its in the fine print

I love the card and highly recommend it. My only issue is that if you have a joint card holder, the joint card holder cannot see the total balance or points total. It's very annoying as a household.

The app can use some improvements, when compared with other apps. Navigation can be a challenge sometimes, not to take away anything from the card though, the card is very good a bit expensive but good.

Great but the fact you can't make payments anytime to your account is annoying and they dont have a bank in canada. and they round up your spending to the nearest dollar not kool. They have great customer service though.

Only had it for a couple days but so far love the UI experience! Visually pleasing and the UX is great as well. I have 4 stars because when I was setting up my account (activating new card) it wouldn't allow it to go through so I had to call customer support for that. Also, it seems if you purchase after 'typical business hours', it won't send a notif of the purchase till hours later, that may be an issue for fraud purchases. It also takes a while for purchases to actually show on your account.

Very useful and the changes that occur from time to time have been improvements. I consult it every day to be aware right away if there are fraudulent charges. Which, the time it happened, Amex was quick to investigate and cover. My most used card. 2025/10/14. I'm still just as satisfied. *****

what happened to this app? nevwr had issues before but now every time it says my password is incorrect. it's not. So changed the password, and still can't log in. Says its wrong. There's no mistake in it, I'm typing it correctly and it won't work

Payments are normally applied within 24 hours(often same day) and show up in the app very quickly. Navigation thru this app is fairly easy and haven't had many issues, unlike other apps that tend to close for no reason. Visa and M/C take a long time to process payments and apply them. Definitely recommend Am-Ex over the others for this reason.
