This App use to be great. Since the last update, they no longer list the most popular version of a song. Please correct this as it is aggravating. Case in point, when searching for "Turn Up the Radio" by Autograph, you listed songs with the title Turn the Radio Up then other irrelevant songs.
if i could give it zero i would. The list set ups in the app aren't the same as in the jukebox. Searching for artists doesn't pull up as many options or songs in the app either. ALSO the app charges more per song credit and therefore LESS MUSIC TO LISTEN TO for a higher price. No. i don't need tech support. Disappointing. What should be simpler and easier is not. Where there should be incentive to use the app versus the jukebox, there isn't. I don't recommend the app at all.
Changing my review to one star from five. Since the update, this app is a rip-off! Literally. As another user stated, the default setting for auto-reload of credits is set to "on" when you install the app. You then have to search to find the toggle to shut it off. Also the reload amount is set to the highest amount. I was billed $24.00 twice before I realized what was happening and there's no way to dispute those charges. That was the last amount I will ever spend with AMI.
Not worth the time. If no one else is picking music to play, why charge me? At least it would allow me to use and get to know your app. If there is not a free option, then there is no option. What I did get to see, you narrowed my choice of music, no deep cuts, no niche bands, only the same over played music. Really, you can't even match Pandora or YouTube? Not worth the bandwidth to download. Save your time and effort until these guys make a change.
5 credits to play my song next...(when there are a lot of songs in the queue) instead of 3. So I have to listen to the music selection of someone with poor taste or get extorted into paying more to hear 1 or 2 songs I want to hear. Or take my chance and hope my songs play sometime before the heat death of the universe... Also I deleted my previous review concerned with stale music selections. Take with a grain of salt. Or 5...
Plays music reliably. Fewer stars because it only shows the next 5 songs and gives no indication of how many songs are in the queue when you play one. You pay money to play a song and it could be three hours before you hear it. Even when you pay extra for priority, no indication when you'll hear your song. For that reason alone Touchtunes reigns supreme.
I accidentally pressed a button, and it automatically charged me $7.00. I didn't approve anything. I didn't have to enter a CVC number or put in a password. It just automatically charged $7.00. I will be charging this back for blatantly not adhering to credit card rules. DO NOT TRUST THIS APP. Additionally, at another venue, I paid $7.00 to play songs, and none of the music actually played. The venue was just playing their own music and not the AMI playlist. And there's no recourse.
The app used to be the best. You would get 40 credits for 20 bucks(the same as if you were to put money into the jukebox), but if you played so many songs in a row, you would get free credits. Recently, they raised the price to $24, and they give you only 44 credits, not 48. It is now cheaper to just put money into the jukebox. It's like those "free credits" are no longer free...you are now paying for them. UPDATE: They upped their price again to $28. It's now cheaper to use the juke box by far
Notifications don't clear from my android phone, once they go up there they stay. When the bartender turns off the jukebox at the end of the night, this app gets stuck until restart my phone. There's only a queue of 5 songs, So you never know if there are 45 songs ahead of yours before closing and you shouldn't put any more money in it... They get you queue many songs that you will never hear using this "only show five songs in the queue" method. They should refund your money if song not played.
Intentionally terrible. There's no way to view how many songs have been added to a que, only the next five coming up. It could be 20 minutes or 2 hours, if there are a lot of people there, there's a solid chance you just spent 5-20$ on music you'll never hear. Make no mistake, they designed it this way on purpose.
I thought this app was great when I first installed it. It offered way more artists than the Touchtunes app and way more songs by those artist. I was glad to see that they didn't charge an extra credit for longer songs. That is, until I played one of my favorite long songs, "Loan Me A Dime" by Boz Scaggs, and it cut the song off before the end. Sorry, you don't get a good rating for cheating me out of my credits and my songs.
Overall, it's not bad. Sometimes the GPS is way off and other times it completely drops out while attempting to search for a song, forcing you to log out and log back in. The selection is surprisingly pretty okay, but the search results can be stubborn about bringing up certain artists and tracks. It'd be fun to see them introduce a variety of ways to find and discover instead of a single search bar.
App no longer works. Gives an error message that the location permission needs to be turned on. I turned on location and still get the same message. App will try to load infinitely but will never actually pull up nearby jukeboxes or let you search for songs. Attempted to troubleshoot by clearing the cache, and now I'm unable to log back into my account that still has active credits on it. App needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.
There needs to be a warning to prevent users from loading more songs to the queue when the songs already in the queue would go pass closing time. The bar I regularly go not only shuts down the box half an hour before closing, during the weekend they have a DJ and the box is turned off around 9. NO REFUND GIVEN. The box knows it's being turned off, all songs remaining in the queue should automatically credit the customer account. And no, that should not require an email to the service desk. Same with songs skipped by management. That and the search engine needs work. Wish List: It would be nice if there was a website where we could flag songs as favorite for our account. Independent of the venue. Other than that, the app works great. You just have to spend more time searching for a song that the length of said song.
You know I have been putting $20 worth of credits in about every 2 weeks for years. But now that it takes 5 credits to play tonight, it will be the last time I play music at the bar. I have earbuds, I can listen to my own music and save my money. So I got a response from ami stating the price gouging only happens if there are a lot of songs in the que. That is not true last week, there was two songs in the que, and in order to play priority, it would cost 5 credits.
Yeah, it works technically. The music gets played eventually. One big issue is that the use of priority is RARELY accepted. I've sat waiting in a bar for 20 minutes while my song that I used priority on sits at the top of the queue and other songs are played before it. What the hell?! Save your money and never waste time using priority - it's never worth it!
I downloaded the app so I could play music while we bowled. None of my songs were played during the hour we were there. Yes, I understand people can pay to have their songs played first. Then my card was hacked. I had to call and cancel my CC and order a new one. Don't use this app. Also don't understand how I only see 1 star reviews but they have a high rating. Guess the employees get bonuses for the fake reviews.
this app is a mess. I had spent so much and only hearing short versions of songs, and many time's my songs never played (not because someone skipped over me) they just didn't play, but I paid. Last time, I paid 12 credits just to hear a particular song, yet it never played. Another bar the bartender had to play the song on a few occasions because the machine took my money/credits, and the song didn't play. I was hanging out with a few friends and spent my time messing around with this app
The main problem is you can walk into a pub and since you can only see 5 songs ahead even if you play something with priority it might be hours before your songs play. This is the grift that they run. No way in app to request your credits back in this situation and no way externally to get your credits back. Garbage app that sucks you in with more options than TT, but you never get to hear your plays.
A little buggy. The major issues are when when I played a music video with priority it didn't work, but another video I did put in the queue. I appreciate that the tokens weren't lost...but the queue itself is SLOW to update. Touchtunes is running laps around this, even if this can play music videos, it's a little inconvenient since not many bars roll with music video functionality and TT is faster overall. Polish it up and I can see this be on par.
