In the App when you name the watches on your device list, the app does not save the names you input for the watches. Once you log out and log back into the app, all the watches on my device list are renamed to "baby". It happens every single time. No matter how many times I rename them to "Arianna" and "Ciri" (my daughter's names), when I log off and back into the app the device names are changed to "baby".
As a concept, the parts and pieces are really here. The app can be a little confusing but my biggest challenge was the fact that no matter where the watch was indoors, it consantly struggled to connect to our cell plan. I kind of felt like it was 1998. Unless the watch was outside, It could barely hold a signal which sort of defeats the purpose. The battery is not great and the way the charger connects to the watch it sometimes didn't charge fully or properly. It's a finicky magnetic connection.
Watch has said it's offline since we received it. I've done all the troubleshooting "fixes" but none have worked. The app says I'm in Asia even though I registered in North America. We can call on the watch but that is about it. We can't download apps, pedometer won't turn on, etc. I spent ALL afternoon trying. Very frustrating!!
edit: reducing stars. customer service doesn't answer their phone line or respond to emails or their chat on their website. I've been trying for 3 weeks to contact them to use the extra warranty I paid for. The app randomly has issues connecting to or updating angel watch settings. Unable to turn off Amber Alerts, even with Do Not Disturb mode enabled. Their Support Center was unable to turn them off as well. The watches are okay, but not 100% reliable. Issues with cell service, GPS location,
The app needs a lot of work. I'm mostly happy with the watch, but on the parent end, the app is super frustrating. The one feature I'm really missing is that I don't get a notification sound when my child texts or send a photo. I get a notification symbol at the top of my screen but I'd only know if it was there if I was actively looking at my phone. I also don't understand why my child can't text from the phone. We attempted to install the line app, but that was just another disaster.
Please DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH. Horrible company and horrible watch Like with everyone else, the watch never connected to the app. It was always offline. Couldn't make calls either and couldn't get calls. It's an awful watch and app. And they only give you 7 days to return it instead of 30 days. So I spent $200 in something that never worked and can't even return to get my money back. Called customer service and they couldn't fix the watch either. Please don't buy
From day 1 I felt this watch and the app was awful. Today I found out they don't support the watch we have and it no longer works. Find a company that backs their products and supports them for a longer duration. Don't waste your money on this company, you will have nothing but issues. In response to the comment: I was informed my model will no longer be supported. Thanks for selling me a useless watch. Stand behind your products next time. Also, no firmware update was available like it was mentioned.
The app is horrible same like the swatch itself. Also the customer service is terrible! It is spending more then 2 weeks to return the watch and is still in pending review. They never answered at any request. I may need to create a credit card dispute to recover my money. Seams is a scam.
Painfully slow updating anything. location can take several minutes to update on the map and is often wrong by several miles. Although it's possible to connect to the watch it's not possible to speak through video guardian. If dad's having trouble using the watch and gets into trouble this means I can't talk to him unless he answers a video call instead. His dementia often means he can't do that. it needs to be made possible to speak to the wearer at any time. from the app
Beyond from the blood oxygen and temperature sensors, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a dedicated torch on the watch. On the side, near to the power button, is an LED that your youngster may activate from their watch to assist them in low-light situations. That may appear to be a minor detail, but for a child who becomes anxious in the dark, it is a really welcome alternative.
App NEVER works. Has my child's location at an old address. I bought this watch way after we moved, so i don't get it. Always says, "Please wait" you can't get it to do anything. I left this watch and switched to another kids watch but went back while that one was being replaced and went back to this. I hoped that it was better because i like the watch. HATE THE APP!
The watch is great! Amazing! Exactly what I wanted! The App is horrible 😫. It has no directions, just a bunch of settings that you have to figure out on your own or do a Google search on. Getting it set up is clunky. Using it is clunky. Things like the chats and texts and sometimes the location don't update or refresh like they should. And 90% of the time it tells me the watch is offline when it's not.
Bought this watch a few months ago and after several attempts (and multiple service charges) it still doesn't work and I have wasted a bunch of money on the watch, the service plan, the screen protector all for a watch that will literally do nothing. It won't connect to my WiFi, continues to say no service even though I'm paying for service, it won't do anything it's supposed to do. Huge waste of time and money.
(UPDATE: Crossing my fingers, but the tracking is working the way it should be for now.) Watch offline watch offline...That's all it ever says. I'm sick of it. I drove all over creation last night testing it, no problem, but soon as morning comes it's back to watch offline until it's night again. What's the point, when you need to track your child during the day. Must be oversea servers. Now it says I have to wait 11 hours before I can use it again. This is the same company as SE Tracker.
There's a constant notification at the top of the screen that the watch is running. That should not be necessary... Only a notification that the watch IS NOT working. Also, there's no way to have sound for notifications so the only way I know there's a message from my child is if I'm actually LOOKING at my phone when the notification comes in. I've checked every setting to have the notifications make noise. The watch is basically useless without notifications with sound. Probably returning.
It's a good product that does what it claims. The functions work well and are simple to set up and start. The battery only lasts two days without being recharged. It is best to recharge it on a daily basis. The app is also fine; it takes some effort to figure out how to set it up. The only thing I think needs to be improved is the ability to receive directions to the kid watch without using SOS.
App is Chinese because the setup map was a Chinese province. I'm surprised Americans can't make a better app. It works somewhat, but the gps doesnt update all the time. Sometimes you'll see the day before but not current day or location even if nothing has changed. Chat messages appear then disappear, then come back again. You dont always get the messages sent by the child. So its not very reliable. It reminds me of WeChat, chinese text messaging app. The watch I have is great though.
As much as parents enjoy it, the opportunity to set what Angel Watch refers to as an Activity Schedule is fantastic. You can set up recurrent reminders for them to clean their teeth, do their homework, finish their chores, and so on. Then, through the app, you can offer them digital incentives and choose what your child can spend them on. My son enjoyed using his for screen time, new books, a treat, and other enjoyable activities.
Great idea but unfortunately this is not as reliable as you would expect... If you set zone it will work BUT with extreme delays, many times my kid was already back home and I received notification that he only left school (10min) later. Notification sound is not working on Samsung S23 (Angel Watch said they are aware but don't have a time scale to fix it 🤷). Unfortunately this is unusable in the state it is at now, need polishing off! But looks like company is not investing in this anymore.☹️
Works great except for one thing. It keeps sending notifications that the watch is running the whole time the watch is on. I tried to stop them in the app settings and on my phone without success. This is very annoying and I should have listened to other reviews before buying. I'm going to call customer service soon. Hopefully there is a way to stop the insanity!
