None of the options to pay through the app will work. The app just freezes when trying to pay with Google Pay. Trying to pay with a credit card just puts me in an endless loop where the payment doesn't go through, but there is no error message (payment wasn't declined, the app never attempts to charge it). I had to use the option to pay at the restaurant, which seemed to annoy the staff because they weren't sure how to handle that. Restarting the app didn't resolve these issues.

I like the app alot. It's very convenient. The app allows you to order exactly the way you want it. there needs to be a feature where, customer changes they're minds on pickup or delivery, before totally completely the order. Also, my only complaint is to prepare what the online customer is wanting. It's not cool to pick up an order and then wait for it to be redone. Because the special instructions were not attended to. After that I love Applebee's, specifically Pendleton Pike location.
Highly unstable. Any time I make an order when logged in, it signs me out and won't send the order or let me back in unless I change my password. When I get back in, all order data is wiped out and I have to start over. Once I get in, it takes several attempts to get an order to go through -even after an update. Same issue at the restaurant, the check in functions take several attempts to get a response. Got fed up and deactivated the account. Hoping this review gets the app worked on.
This is a good app, but needs improvement. There is no way to add extra protein like shrimp to entrees. You can add it to salads, but you are losing money by not allowing an ala cart or extra portion on other items. Ex: I like the chicken with mushrooms and shrimp. I can add extra mushrooms, but I have to call the store to get extra shrimp. If an ala cart section is added, your PPA could increase while letting your customers get additional items the app will not let you order. Fix thus when abl
We love eating at Applebee's but we would really love to use the app when we order togo. Unfortunately, the app does have allow for any customizations of orders (to my knowledge). For example, one of my favorite dishes is the oriental salad but I always sub shrimp in place of chicken. Just wanted to put in that request for the next upgrade. Thank you!
I had to check this app to see if I had the latest version or not. I did, which is disappointing. What other apps for major chains don't give you options for your meals these days?!? Maybe it's asking too much that you be able to order the Blackened Salmon without it being blackened (but the Popeye's app lets me decide that for their chicken strips) but this app doesn't even let me choose green beans instead of brocolli. EVERYONE lets me choose what sides I want with my meal! Except Applebee's.
Incredibly frustrating to have to open up my browser in order to sign in or add/change payment information, and then to not have anything go through after filling in all the required fields. Got stuck in a loop of trying to add payment info after failing to sign in, then encountered a whole new error after I gave up and tried to change to "Pay at Store." Not great if you're prone to getting hangry (like I am).
Not sure what is going on with the app, but over the last few months, the app will not go to payment. I have ordered many times prior to this year with no issues. It is very frustrating to take time to enter items and get all the way to payment and nothing happens. I even tried from my laptop. After several attempts, I did finally get to order, but had to select to pay in store to get it to work. Super frustrating!
Put in the whole order, put in 2 gift cards... Went to finalize the order... Got told there was an error. Didn't say what the error was. Made sure all my information was correct. Did it again. Same result. Complete waste of my time and energy. Your code knows what the error is... Have your alert message say what it is. Until then your app sucks.
Food is always great, staff friendly. Curb side hasn't been on time yet. Several times over 15 minutes and I've gone inside to get order because of staff at bar didn't have any help. Some items had to be reheated when I got home. I've ordered again tonight for 6pm pick-up. If it's on time and I don't have to go inside. I'll update review.
This app doesn't work at all. Every step of the way, it freezes up, with the little processing icon spinning away endlessly until I close out the app. When the app reopens, the screen that wouldn't load a moment ago pops right up, but the next click freezes the whole thing again. I'm not going to spend a half hour clicking, closing, clicking, and closing. There are plenty of other places to eat. You just lost my business permanently.
Sadly the app doesn't allow you to pick condiments. You can't order a steak and change the mashed potatoes into loaded mashed potatoes, but you can buy a side of loaded mashed potatoes for extra. I mean not everyone wants two orders of potatoes especially when one isn't loaded. Also, as I mentioned before you can't order sour cream, cheese, and bacon to make them loaded. There are many other condiments that you can't pre-order too, but I was just giving my personal example.
I have no issues with the app and the notifications are working fine. My issue is, once they got my email address they will not quit spamming me with weekly specials. I don't eat there often enough to make use of the specials and I ask that corporations honor unsubscribe requests. Update 6/14/22 - payment processing has quit working thru the app and thru the website, making it impossible to order on-line.
Repeatedly the app does not allow me to place my order (carside to go, pick up inside or delivery) because I do not have a payment method. When I try to add one, it only allows me to add a gift card. I have tried the same process on the website and run into the same problem, that I cannot save a payment method. Shame because we love applebees and is frustrating to order when the process should be simple and easy
This summer, I was able to save a gift card to the app. It's now winter, and the app glitches out and shows the same gift card twice. Not only only that, but it allows me to select both of them as if they were two different cards with their own balance and reduces the total due accordingly. Of course, I do this and the payment process freaks out and just tosses me back to the previous screen without any error message. Now that I have emptied that gift card, the app either crashes or does nothing when I try to import a new gift card. Otherwise, the app does what you would expect a takeout/delivery app do if you just pay with your credit card.
Want to order food. I go through, pick out what I want, finish, go to pay. Crash. Go back into app, re-order food, go to pay again. Crash. Try one more time, go through, order food, go to pay. Crash. This is my experience 90% of the time. Just use the website ordering. It's a little wonky but at least you won't waste 15 minutes trying to order food through an app that loves to crash way more than it wants to work.
Tried to order the 2 for $20 including appetizer ( even though I know it could have possibly come up to 2 for $27 ) and the app would not let me. I ordered my food thinking I could correct it once I got there. NO!!!! I was told , I should have called since I was having a problem......what is the purpose of the app...... useless......I won't be going back there anytime soon. Poor customer service.
I've had nothing but issues with this app. I've tried ordering delivery but it keeps kicking me back to the location every time. I tried to switch to car side to go THEN I tried for just regular pick up, but its not letting me add my gift card. Every time I try to add it, it tells me the app has stopped working. It's becoming very frustrating. The app is basically just a menu at this point.
Privacy and Battery Nightmare - this app grabs your GPS location and keeps it in the background until you double-kill the app. Just closing it out of the open apps doesn't stop it, you also have to go into background running apps and kill it there too. This is not just a battery killer (20% in 1 hour), it is a massive invasion of privacy.
Signed up, they caught me on the "sign up for a free appetizer", figured that would be a good incentive to spend some money since I have several times. Nope. Never was sent that email for redemption. So I called and asked about how to redeem and 2 employees both told me "they don't know, were never instructed about it" and one of the employees happened to be the manager on duty. This apps only purpose is to order food online. No other incentive.
