The scale works well for body weight and smaller weights as described. However, I'm not satisfied with the messaging from the app. Specifically, after a recent weight check, a message popped up saying, "Confirm Data: Too much difference in weight", with an option to select either "Not mine" or "it's mine". I'd prefer an option to not have such pop-ups in the app.
The Arborleaf Scale and App are a fabulous combo for monitoring weight and, if you don't wear socks all day and all night, your body fat percentage, body water percentage, and lots more such things. It lets you see a history of all your weights and compares your weight to normal, overweight, and obese weights. The scale link to your phone and App by Bluetooth is very quick and reliable. You push down on the scale with one foot and release to make the connection and zero the scale.
Edit: Look for something else, nothing has gotten better, only worse... Loved this scale and app. It was instrumental in trackingy weight during my weight loss. Unfortunately, the app has stopped logging weigh ins 90% of the time. I have to go back and weigh myself again and do a rain dance and hope it logs. Not sure if an update occured, but if this is not fixed in the next few weeks I'll have to look for an alternative. Disappointed as this was a great product and app
This app has always been wonderful. Idk why they made so many changes in the recent update - I prefer how it used to look. But also, I accidentally deleted old weigh-ins I meant to keep and there is NO WAY of retrieving the deleted info! Lastly, when trying to manually input the deleted info, it only lets you input to the first decimal not 2 decimal places!! That's extremely annoying since the scale does measure out to the 2nd decimal.
It's a pretty great tool to use when I'm calculating my nutritional facts. There are a few things that are not user friendly. First adding any food by bar code is almost impossible. Many times I scan something and it seems like it's correct but a lot of the information will be slightly wrong. Also it limits how nutritional information is put in by the original measurement choice. Ex. I needed a gram for a usual miligram measurement but couldn't put in enough due to the apps mechanics.
It's great, except the heart rate monitor feature.. if u have more than 1 camera, which all phones do. It will not work regardless if you get it all the way to the end, it will still read that you failed to complete it. Just download one and enter it manually. Also it will not show my photo regardless of how many times you save it... so some bugs.
This app used work well but the updates have been so bad here I am leaving a bad review. One of the biggest things they broke was when you used have a big weight gain it didn't think you were the same person so it didn't register the weight. You could easily assign it to yourself and it wasn't lost. Now you just lose the information. You can't find it. There is no list of your previous weights. And in this abysmal interface you can't find any older weight but definitely nothing unassigned.
Do not, do not, do not buy Arboleaf products. Every few years they ruin their app, making the scale essentially unusable. Currently it takes 3-6 weighings to get the app to register the data. After failed attempt(s) you have to go to the "Scale Anomaly Detection" menu, where it runs its checks and finds that there's nothing wrong; but still doesn't record the weight - you have to go back and weigh yourself *again*, and THEN it miraculously starts working. Shameful.
I like the scale, and the app is ok. I like the graph to show my progress. I made my profile first and then later added one for my wife. On hers it shows way more info like muscle mass, fat free body weight, etc; but not on mine. I have no idea how or why and there is no help button or FAQ or how to. I would ask the company but not sure how to even go about doing that.
This app and scale were great for many years until recently. The scale and phone no longer pair together without physically opening the app to weigh myself. I'm not the type to carry my phone with me everywhere I go. It used to store data until I opened the app and then send the data to my phone. Whenever someone other than myself used the scale I would get notifications saying there was a huge change in weight, I no longer get these. I'm frustrated with the changes, I may get a different scale.
Purchased the Abroleaf in July 2022, the scale itself works great and is accurate, compared to the doctor's office scale. Would give it a 5 if it weren't for the software's inconsistency in recording my weight. Software worked great for about 6 weeks. Then it quit recording my weight, even though the Bluetooth connection was made. I uninstalled the up to date software thinking that it might be corrupt. After two weeks it's doing the same thing. Buggy software.
The graph in the latest update shows a 40 pound range so it's difficult to see daily trends because the line barely moves up or down. Can you zoom it in a bit? The graph's tiny green text on white background is tough to read on my device. Enlarge the readings, please. There's no need to include "lb" on all off them either, which should provide the necessary space.
Setup was simple and quick. To address some other people's complaints: to enter birthdate you do NOT have to scroll through 200+ months... just tap on the year and select, then scroll to your month. Maybe it was a fix, but the app works fine on my LG (Aristo 2 - which is not a new phone). I can't comment on whether the stats are accurate at this time, but I'm going to get measured at my gym this week - then I will compare.
Overall, I love this scale and the app. However, I find that the bluetooth becomes "disconnected" at odd times for odd reasons. I do not know why or how it happens, but it can be hugely frustrating having to redo the whole bloody connection sequence once a week or so ... I am not sure how to fix it, or how to make it easier to repair. I do appreciate that the scale will "hold" data when the phone is not near enough, though. I'm not sure how long it holds or if it keeps the data when the bluetooth connection drops or not.
The app makes uncontrollable noises (audible annoyance) when the app picks up data from the scale. This really just makes it unusable at 0500 when I'm trying to get ready for work while the rest of the family is sleeping. Muting the sound in the app does not appear to be an option and at that time of the day, remembering to turn off volume every day is just not practical. The obvious solution. Is to not use the benefits of the app to manage the data. Give us the option of no sound.
Great scale super easy to install, from box to floor maybe 10 minutes. As long as your Bluetooth is on your phone and you get in the app you are all set,, you weigh yourself and see that it is connected right on the scale, the whole process takes seconds. I got this one because it syncs with my fitbit, and sure enough it works. I definitely see how this will motivate me to loss weight.
The graph really needs some work. The biggest complaint is that all data points are the same unit distance from each other rather than being proportional to the length of time between them. It would also be greatly improved by supporting pinch zoom/scrolling and having more sensible smoothing of the curve. BTW, for those complaining about the location permission, Android requires the location permission for apps that connect to bluetooth low energy devices (such as the scale).
I'll join my voice to the rest of the folks that dislike the new version. Without going in to detail, bluetooth connection is spotty, sometimes it accepts a weight from the scale without indicating as such in the app, pushing a data point on the trending graph sometimes comes up with the value and sometimes not, etc. What used to take one or two screens to see the information I wanted now takes 3-4 screen changes (if it works at all). Bring back the old version!
App barely works after update in the past year. The first issue is that it often randomly won't register data when you weigh yourself despite being connected. You have to frequently weigh yourself over. The second issue is that when it does register data, it for some reason seems to open multiple pages showing you your stats, so when you go to weigh yourself the next morning, you have to back out of your old data multiple times before you get started. Very obnoxious, since it used to work well.
It's been great. Can track everyone in the family. It's been quite accurate compared to doctor visits right after I weighed at home. It would be 5 stars if they made the type a bit larger on the app tracking page (graph). The scale itself would get 5 stars if the legs were a bit more wide based because of you don't step on it exactly where they want you, it can flip to the side. It seems sturdy but I'm afraid I'm going to break it eventually.
