Art of War: Legions

It's fine for killing time, but it isn't particularly engaging. There's no meaningful strategy involved in the fights, and you cannot direct formations during battle. You can choose which troops to level and where they are located in your formation, but the battles run by themselves after that. You CAN play without paying, but it will take a lot of grinding through very boring battles to acquire and level good troops.

PROS 1.This is a very fun game that progresses really good as you get stronger troops. 2. If you decide to pay to win, the game is not that expensive. 3. Graphics and gameplay is really good. CONS. 1. This will be a DEAL BREAKER, if you have two devices, you wont be able to restore the progress on your other device even if you have the same account set up. That means that money paid will be lost and you have to start all over again. It would be nice if you can restore purchases and progress.

When I first started playing this game, I was disappointed my the main gameplay, and how there is no real strategy to it. The expeditions are quite fun, but the amount of troops required to take a castle is unclear. There also should be far more. It's the best thing in the game. This game is a very good time killer. But again, there is no strategy to the main levels or arena fights, so they get dull quite fast.

It's a fun concept with great potential, but this isn't a strategy game. It's just tapping all day mindlessly. So unfortunate because I thought I was going to love it. I got bored after 2 days and waited it out a couple days more in case it got more difficult or fun but no. Formations and armies mean nothing, you'll just win every time regardless. This applies at least until level 500, I can't wait any longer. On a separate note, I can't tell which troop is which, it's so tiny and indistinct.

Great game and great customer service. One time the game crashed during a purchase in the store using in-game currency (gold). I reported it right away, and received a response a few hours later. The next day they gave me double the amount of gold I needed to repurchase the item so I could get two! Then they told me how to fix it myself if it happens again by loading the cloud data.

Great game overall, but there is some bugs and fixing that needs to be done. One major thing is that the music cuts off when you do almost anything, which can be frustrating. Another thing is that it would be nice to be able to precipitate in the arena without having to use your Facebook account. Finally, it would be nice for you so be able to see the stats of all the units, upgraded units, and hero's, such as health, damage, and speed. There would also be extra stats such as range. GG overall.

This game overall is fun. However the down side is that it keeps freezing when you try to use the x3 feature. If it does not freeze, the icon will not show up at all. With 100's of 1000's of gold lost because of this error makes me wonder if the game is worth putting anymore money into. So far today I am up to $110.00 but this may be my last bit. If the developers can't fix the issue OR make it right, what's the point of rewarding them with money when the economy in in shambles right now?

It's your basic free to play game. Most of the game is free and to really grow, without grinding, you need to pay. To keep up with other people, you must pay. As far as game play, it is very basic. Merge troops to level them up, complete levels by clicking battle. With your random, but still the same, concept of merging troops and clicking battle. No real strategy involved

This game is a 5* for the first 2-3 weeks until you complete Expedition. Expedition deserves 5*, the rest of the game 3* as it becomes very repetitive after 2-3 weeks. It is worth downloading for that initial experience but I don't recommend spending any money in it. After your troops reach level 8 you are pretty much stuck. They made another game similar to Expedition but it is not even close to how good that game mode is. I haven't deleted the game just in hopes they release more chapters.

False advertising! Seen the same add 100 times so thought id try it. The add shows you running with troops and having to run through a wall type thing that either (+,-,÷,×) troops. You know the one we all saw that made us decide to try this terrible game. Game is absolutely nothing like the add. If the game didn't suck you wouldn't have to trick people into downloading it.

A really solid game for killing time and just having a bit of casual fun. Battles can have a ton of moving units, are chaotic and entertaining, and the game does a decent job of making you feel like a commander. Game does get repetitive, though, with little variation in game play. Also, where's our sandbox to create our own battle scenarios without worrying about progression? Finally, micro transactions (especially VIP), are grossly overpriced. Definitely don't spend money.

Theirs only a couple problems I have with this game one is that it's very battery intensive you almost have to keep your phone plugged into to keep playing it other wise it will drain your battery. 2nd is that at some point all your doing is just grinding for money and gems theirs really nothing more to do. But solid game other wise. Oh also It hasn't happened until recently but I've been having problems with connecting to the game it seems that a lot of other people are have the same issue.

They market this as a strategy game but it's really 80% idle game and 20% strategy. The only way to level your account is to press start on the campaign, wait 3 seconds to win, and collect the reward. Just mindlessly repeat this 8,000 times with no chance of losing (if you use the correct hero). You will have no problem leveling up doing that but you will also have no fun. The parts of the game where you can apply strategy are not worth clicking thousands of time with no gameplay to level up.

This isn't even a game. I got up to level 100 which took about 2 hours of play time. After the first 5 minutes it became clear there was nothing to this app. There is no strategy, skill, or even luck. It cannot even be considered a clicker game. I would press 2 buttons and then afk for 30 seconds while my troops did whatever. It does not even matter what you do in the game, because there is no story, and you always win against the ai. I only played so long because I thought there had to be more.

In response to Fastone Games HK's response, yes you are correct, the advertisement does not make the game bad, it is just a bad game, please actually read review and you see I did try it.. Completely different games then what was advertised, this is pure ad click-bait, okay for about 10 seconds, then watch an ad. No real interaction with game, just click to start battle the sit back a few seconds later you won, now watch an ad that is 3 times longer then you played the level for, and repeat...

Game stopped loading. I've been playing daily for 6-7 months now. A few days back the game stopped loading for me. I tried logging in for 5 days straight. Every time I logged in the initial start page would get to the same spot, then stop loading. Reset my phone multiple times, but didn't help. Eventually uninstalled the game. Reinstalled it hoping somehow it saved my progress seems there was no other option to log in. It didn't, which was what I expected. Level 5102 & now back to level 1.

Haven't used it, giving the rating because of it's idiotic ads. It's yet another of those games where 1: what you see in the ad probably doesn't match the reality of the app, and 2: what you see done in the ad could be done easily by a six year old, yet the grown adults "playing" in the ad struggle immensely. I refuse to play any game that does that, and I will negatively rate them henceforth.

Another merge-for-upgrade game. I thought this was the art of war, can we get some actual tactical gameplay? Troops shouldn't be defined by their level, only the types (infantry, archer, cavalry) and deployment formations. Sun Tzu would be rolling in his grave upon hearing the art of war is simply take 2 identical soldiers and merge them into a more powerful one.

I've played all three modes and to level 100. Your troops you attain are completley random and I feel like there's no real skill involved at all. I haven't lost a single battle on the way to 100 and only once on the challenge mode or whatever. I played for two days so far. I don't really enjoy the multiplayer leader mode at all. I believe the game needs more strategy and less random troop card packs.

Edit: Now at level 6500, have an army maxed out at all Level 8 troops and a Level 6 Davison, only thing fun about the game is daily quests. But, just like in so many other games, I have over 10 million coins and can't use them for anything worthwhile, everything takes gems or real money. Plus, the Hero Box only gives shards for the dozens of useless heroes that die in 3 seconds even at high levels.
