Pretty good as far as mobile art programs go. I've been using the free version, but am going to buy the full liscense. The most egregious feature locked behind a paywall is the ability to have more than 3 layers, but you can bypass this by watching a 30 second ad once a day. The limited amount of undos is also annoying, but is easily bypassed by drawing a line, which resets the undo count. I don't need much in an art program, but I wish you could move stuff on multiple layers together.
This has been my go to sketching app for a few years now. The paid version is cheap, works like a charm and is nice and lean with a few minor quirks. It's easy and fast to import and export as psd to send to a more robust program for retirement. The biggest drawback: no folders, and no selecting multiple layers at the same time. I could get so much more done before exporting. If they add that in the future, i'll gladly change to a five star rating!
This drawing & painting app is full of features and is one of my favorites. I use several, but this one is in my top tier, and I am thankful I found it. I don't understand complaints about a paywall. This is a nice piece of software, and nothing is truly free. You have options to watch ads to unlock a feature for a time if you don't want to purchase the license outright. I hate wasting my life watching ads. Ads ≠ free. It was six dollars for the pro license, which seems very reasonable to me. 🙂
I was looking for a drawing app I used years ago (Sketchbook), and thought I'd try this out as well. I find this app to be uncannily similar to Sketchbook, except with constant surprise paywalls. For example, you can only have three layers in the free version, then you're asked to pay to unlock more. The same goes for the undo button -- You can only undo so many steps, then you're presented with a padlock icon asking for money. Meanwhile, Sketchbook is free, with a Pro version for only $2.
I think it is the best stylus drawing app I've found. The part that allows you to choose a color is too fast and when I go to draw a line 3/10 times the reticle pops up and changes the color I am using. Super annoying. It would be better if it offered x-,y- measurements so when I am drawing I can make things perfectly symmetrical. You just have to guess at the distances, The opportunity to move the start or end of a line after pulling it would add 10% functionality overall.

I personally enoy this app. it's perfect for my type of art style and isn't very complex. Edit: (I also removed a bunch of stuff) they took away multiple things that are nessecities and put purchasements over them. as a play pass member, i dont have to really deal with it. but i can imagine the pain of other artists that dont have play pass. i know this is a free game, but don't do this. or at least lower the amount of purchases in this. you can do better.
I bought the Full version because this app allowed me to do everything I imagined needing and more, there's plenty, but it reverted me to the free version and prompted me to buy the full version on sale and watch an ad again, that's really, really annoying, and should never happen when you buy an Art medium, I draw when I'm in particular moods and part of it is an expression incorporating certain times, feelings, etc. It's frustrating to have the full capacity taken away despite purchasing.
This was my go-to app for drawing for over a decade. I loved it! But it has gone way downhill recently. I've lost work in the middle of drawing more than once. The worst was losing 24 hours of work as I was exporting the finished file. It was GONE. After that, I had to resort to saving my layers every hour or so in order to recover lost work. I tried to no avail find the temp files many times. I even got a new tablet. I've finally given up and am now relearning a different app.
Though this app is pretty simple, it's quickly become one of my favorites. It has some of the cleanest brushes, unlimited canvas size, straightforward and hideable UI, clipping masks, it's lightweight and doesn't drain the battery - There are only three things I miss. Layer groups, double tap undo, and a proper blur tool. If those get added, I'm sure this app would always be my first choice when using my tablet to draw. Oh, and I'm a big fan of the one time purchase.
I paid for the Pro version a while back. For drawing on a Tablet, it was the best I found at the time (personal preference of course). It has almost everything I want, it just lacks an "Insert Text" Tool. Why is it so hard to find Apps that "complete" or well-rounded. This just seems like such a basic function, and that's the only missing piece of the puzzle.
I gave a great review in the past. Still better than Autodesk in my opinion. I do have 3 suggestions though. 1) Possibly adding the option to move the GUI around. For ex. I would find it much more comfortable if i could move the brush size & opacity slider to appear on the left side of the screen instead. 2) better blur tool. I know there's alternatives but a stand alone blur brush would be better 3) Being able to make things thick in transform like for letters and stuff (not size). Thank you!
I haven't found anything wrong with this app! There are some in-app purchases, but you can watch videos to unlock the things you want. Although I'm not a super talented artist, I don't necessarily see how you could need more than what's provided when it comes to the pens, pencils, and marker options. There's also a smoothing option which I appreciate, as well as the option to make your lines according to how hard you press down, which I've come to find most art apps I've tried dont have. :)
I really wish it wasn't too late to get a refund. What was a good app has turned extremely bad. When I use the program it stops everything meaning I can no longer listen to music and draw at the same time which I find frustrating. The app crashes. I'm not joking. Some minutes in and it just crashes. I can't even get it to load before it crashes. Want to share and record your work you have 2 minutes. I tried exporting my sketch so I can continue elsewhere. Crashes. Feels like random it crashe
Best app I know for the "artistic". Bought the full package after seeing the wide selection of brushes. Almost has everything I could want in an app geared towards art, editing, or just plain creative boredom. Could use an "undo all" button, and a brush that clones a selection and paints it as you move your "brush". Sure you can select, copy, and paste, but it isn't as smooth as a "cloning brush". Definitely worth buying. Probably going to be awake half the night because of this app. Buy it. 👍
This app is a very nice drawing app, but if your looking to draw comics go to another app like medibang paint. But if your jsut drawing a normal picture, it's very nice and the pencil tools are amazing. It also has nice animations for the menus. The only annoying thing is that the menu doesn't stay open and I had to switch it to the left-handed so it would be easier. But overall it's a nice drawing app.
I have been using ArtFlow for several years. I have always been generally happy with it. However, never having used Adobe PS or similar software, and with little help on the web about ArtFlow, I've had to learn through trial and error using only this app. Now I realize how powerful this app truly is. I just wish there was more support/info re: its features. I recommend purchasing the pro version b/c dev deserves it. And I would be very interested in ArtFlow 3.0 should it ever happen. Thx.
Been using this program for years, its 1 of the best art apps. I've ever used. You can lock the canvas so you dont zoom in, You can make any brush you want, You can try pen pressure it may or may not work(Depending on your device) but if it does its pretty good. The images feel like im on real paper medium . The only two things I would add is a way to export and save brushes, and maybe a animation features but this is a solid program. Even on some older devices in my experience.
Best art app hands down. I've tried a bunch of other apps but you either have to pay after a few days, or the ui and tools are trash. This app lets you use most of the features for free by watching 1 ad, so nice. Eventually they gave me a pricedrop thing so I bought it. I've had a phenomenal experience so far and the amount of stuff I can do within the app is incredible. From multiple layers to selection tools, it's really quite great and easy to use.
UPDATE: The app does not work with Android 9.0! One UI for Samsung! Don't download this app till they fix the problem! I don't suggest updating the app till they fix the major issue with it now. A lot of people are reporting that they lost all the layers for unfinished drawings when they did the update. This is a serious issue and I won't update the app till this gets fixed as I use the layers. I shouldn't have to export it in that other format just to save the project. It's stupid.
I love this program so very much! I've been using it since 2019 on my Note 9 and I've made entire comic books with it. I just export as PSD, touch up stuff and add text in photoshop. It has most of the stuff I'd use in photoshop and nothing more, which is handy for focusing on work, and not going through a ton of menus to do basic things like in Clip Studio makes it a pleasant experience. Keep in mind, my experience is ONLY with the Galaxy Note phones.
