It was great at first. Now, when I'm reading through a chapter and come to an ad page, it only let's me move past it about half the time, no matter how long I wait. I don't mind the number of ads or the ad watch requirements at all since it typically meant that I didn't have to wait to accumulate enough coins or pay to complete a story, but now I have to close out of the app completely to advance through a chapter completely, and it seems like the further I get into the story the worse it is.
At 1st I had given this app 5 stars. if I could've given it 10 I would've. However now, the app has been massively lagging, extremely slow to load, and when trying to collect rewards it takes it so long and sometimes it won't register. I've tried clearing the cache, deleting and reinstalling the app and nothing works. If it were not for these few issues, I'd go as far as to say it's the best book app EVER and absolutely love it.
Overall, very enjoyable to read on this site, without having to wait to earn credits, or pay for extras. There ARE many ads, but none more than 30 secs, so not too much of a pain. Sometimes, however, the page glitches, and won't let me skip the prompt for no ads. I have to exit out and come back in to progress to the next page. How can I avoid this?
The story is generally good. There are LOTS of grammar, verb, and syntax errors, along with spelling errors. The proof reader didn't do a good job. I find the ads and articles aren't too bad. Sometimes the articles lock up and I have to go back to the last page and start the article over, which has a pain. Still overall, it's a good reading app. This is my first book on this app. I'm not done reading it yet. I will try another book when I finish this one.
Another book app that could really use an editor on staff. THE flagship story in all the ads is riddled with misspellings, character name inconsistencies (mostly just one offs, but some last all chapter) and crazy repetitions that I found confusing. So far no AI prompts left in the text but it's only a matter of time. About 1/5 of the ad breaks bug the app, or slow it down or otherwise cause malfunctions. Uninstalling. Don't waste your time.
Honestly, just go get a library card and use Libby. It'll be free and the books will have been edited and lack plot holes. But if you like plot holes and hate editing and want to read books in small installments for free through an app, choose this app. It really truly is free. There is no limit to how much you can read in a day. You can watch ads or scroll through awful articles to open new chapters. It's the only one of these apps that I've seen that is actually free.
The writing and story are better than other apps I have tried. cost for premium is a bit much, but earning points and rewards is not as bothersome ir problematic as other apps. The story was different than others that seemed like the same formula. In the 70+ chapters I have read so far, there have only been a couple typo errors. The previous app story I read was horrific with grammatical and even character and word errors. That one seemed like a highschool boy wrote it. So far this best.
I really like this app, I'm only on the first book but, I'm very happy so far. I'm on disability so I don't have a large income and can't always afford to pay for the amount of books I read. Astra novel actually let's you read for free, sure there are ads I have to wait thru but they aren't very long and I love the (back to read) button that comes up when the ad is finished. thank you astronomer.
The ads initially weren't too intrusive. But after 50 chapters into the novel, they'd pop up every 4th page. Not only that, I'd click to return to the story, but it would return me to the page I just finished. Swiping right got me another ad. Lather, rinse, repeat 3 times before it'd allow me to continue. Irritating. I planned on deleting after I read the novel. This last time, I got the usual 3 ads, but no option to return to the story, just payment options. No thanks. I'm deleting this.
I read the reviews and figured I would give this app a try. Unfortunately it looks like they have changed the ads frequency. Now there are flash ads every few pages and long ads (longer then the 30 seconds someone else said) between every, very short, chapter. Really pushing a subscription. The only reason I am giving any stars is that the book was decent. Uninstalling.
Has a banner ad on every story page, an ad between most pages, and wants you to scroll through two "articles" at the end of every chapter. The ads don't always work, so you're often sitting through two ad breaks just to get to the next chapter. Such a waste of time. Though I just admit that this app has fewer typos and editing mistakes.
I just started reading these novels a few days & I can say it's real good. There are a few ads but their not bad. I've been 2 other sites their ads are way 2 many. If you like 2 read give dis a try. I've changed it to 3 stars. Since yesterday I'll read 3 chapters goes 2 a ad which is fine but what's not fine is the ad has no way of getting out 2 the next page. Every 3-5 pages. The only way is 2 exit close out then wait 25 mins sometimes 1 hr. I love the novels. Only 10 pages left.
The first book I read was great. Next one, nothing but pages and consecutive chapters of explicit sex. Fine if all you want to do is masterb*te but I'm 70 and read books for storyline, not to get my rocks off. The other con, the user interface needs reconstruction. It is one of the top 3 worst I've ever seen. Basics like being able to bring up the chapters list is just not there and there is no link to go to for HELP. I'm a retired computer tech support trainer since before Windows, I know.
I absolutely love this app!!!!! My 3 most favorite things about it is that you don't have to pay to continue reading after a few chapters. My first is you just have to watch a 4 second add or scroll through 2 different articles for a few seconds to be rewarded with the next chapter. My second is that the books in this app are awesome and keeps you guessing and wanting more. And my last is that more chapters you read, more points you earn to use to skip adds or articles. Definitely recommend 💯
I hesitated for a bit. I was tired of "free reading" meaning a few ads & coins that add up to only a couple chapters a day unless you paid. I'm on chapter 64 of my book and have been reading it for hours with just an ad per chapter. The number of coins you can earn daily goes a long way. You don't need the coins to read chapters, they just let you skip the 30sec ads between chapters. Plus, each chapter has been consistently 40 coins, and an hour of reading got me 200 coins. Worth downloading.
It's actually quite easy to read though many chapters without commercials because you can acquire many points when you log in daily. I average 500 points daily. The only reason I gave the app 4 stars is because they will randomly throw in a commercial that you have to leave the app and go back in, which I think is ridiculous.
I will accept the repetitive sixty seconds ads. It is the aggressive ads that leave you stuck on the page, and in order to continue reading, you have to close the app out, everytime! Then reopen to keep reading. You are blocked at least four or five times in one chapter. This may be my one and only reading on this platform. I don't need to subscribe. I have to use MY data and MY time. That is all I am willing to pay for.
I downloaded this app after I started reading a story through an ad. I unfortunately got hooked in the story and the app is awful. Yes, I could pay to have ad free but I don't plan on using it after I finish this book. and I think it's actually expensive for reading a book to have to pay over $20 a month for ad-free reading. The book isn't even that good. There are so many typos, even with the names.
I read one story and was disappointed with the storyline, grammar and syntax. I thought maybe I liked the app enough to purchase a subscription when I was a few chapters in. After finishing the story, I decided to cancel the subscription. I requested a refund but was told I didn't meet the criteria through Google Play and to contact the developer. Come to find who the developer is, but no way to contact them. It has only been one week.
I love this app! I've subscribed to pretty much every book and story app on Google Play and this one is legit. The stories are very well written and its actually affordable. You can earn coins and purchase coins if you want ad free reading. However the ads are short and you only have to watch one or read an article to unlock chapters. The chapters are pretty long so its well worth reading an article. By far the best reading app I have come across.
