So far I enjoy the app a lot. I've really just started on the road of meditation and the beginner guided sessions are very nice. I like the option of changing the voice of the person guiding the session in case you do better with certain pitches/ cadence, etc. I enjoy the reminder that can be set for a specific time. I don't really care about the forest/ growing trees aspect as I neither look at it nor find it motivating. But it doesn't detract from the app for me either.
the only meditation app I've stuck with and even come back to after forgetting about it for a few months. I'm on day 73! I have ADHD and have a lot of trouble staying consistent so I love that this app doesn't put my streak back at 0 if I don't use it for a day or 20. The reality is progress is progress and adds up! I really like the main narrator's voice and guidance style. Their little habit building tips are genuinely encouraging. And I love growing a tree each time! Perfect dopamine reward.
Already look forward to meditation each day - this made starting so easy. The narrator guides you most of the time, especially at first. I've tried silent meditation many times. Helpful, but my mind wanders a lot and I didn't keep up the practice. This is different. I've found his voice calming and reassuring. It keeps me focused. It appears the silent portions will get longer the more you practice, which makes much sense.
This is the first meditation app that I felt like I could actually stick with! I'm still only on the first day, but it seems amazing. The only thing I've noticed was in the meditation recording there was a little bit of microphone noise, but that didn't bother me too much. I'll update this if my opinion changes or if I don't end up finishing it, but so far I love it! (It does remind me of Atomic Habits a little bit, but I couldn't get myself to read the whole Atomic Habit book and I feel like this makes it way easier to follow along and it even makes it a habit to learn about habits/meditation!) Edit 11/16: I'm on my fifth day now, and it just gets better! The over-amplification noise isn't that bad in the later meditations. One cool thing I've noticed is that each day the meditations get slightly longer. The first being about three minutes, while the meditation I did today was about six minutes. The gradual pace of this app is absolutely phenomenal and the side lessons/ encouragement is amazing. I'll update again when I'm further through. Edit 11/26: Not much more to say. It's still amazing and I feel like the small improvements every day have really added up. The length of the meditations has increased to about 10 minutes, but some are longer and some are shorter. I have to say though, my forest is getting a little crowded! I'll add more to this review in the future! Edit 12/3: I finally Finished! After completing all of the 21 day meditations and lessons I was left in literal tears as I never did get that last tree...
There's never any pressure, like from other apps. Atom reminds you once, maybe twice, if you miss a day, but then it stops. When you log back in, it picks up where you left off and is happy to have you back and to be a part of your meditative journey. The sessions are short and simple to digest while allowing you to practice. I love how simple and kind the app is.
I have been wanting to make the habit of meditation for the past year now. I tried to do other guided meditation, and on my own with music. I am only a few days into using Atom but I am really enjoying it. I allow myself to focus and relax. Although these beginning sessions are short, they lift the weight off your shoulders of the day you are ending (or going to begin). I will continue to use this app because it is helping me in more ways than i expected.
Really good, simple app that eases you into a daily mindfulness practice. Good information about the science behind mindfulness and why it works, and the tree/forest visual is absolutely beautiful and I'm already getting excited to see my forest full of all the different kinds of trees. Suggestion: Please add more kinds of trees! I would love a huge variety of trees to represent my moods when I "plant" them, so I can look back and reflect on my journey with the forest visual. ❤️
I'm only a few days in, but already I love it. I'm excited to use it each day. Growing my own tree in a little digital forest is really cute and I get excited to see the progress I'm making mentally reflected by these cute trees. I also love that they present readings each day, but they break it up and include little quizzes here and there. Also, it's all FREE! Unlike many popular mental health apps I've tried, this one doesn't require any subscriptions or payments to access any of its features.
I've been reading self-help books & "how to be your best self" books since I was 10 thanks to my dad. And in every one of those books and videos I've watched, meditation is always something mentioned that every successful person does. I've tried meditating for literal years and I've never been able to do it. I downloaded this app with low expectations and I absolutely love it. The daily meditations are short but super effective. Get this app now!!!
Really great for starting a consistent habit! Even if you've meditated before, if you haven't stuck to it, try this. The habit tips alone are worth trying the app. Lots of good advice; small, incremental steps and a linear path for the 21 days; a cute forest to grow (gotta love gameifying habits). It's nice not to have to think/decide what to focus on. I'm still going, though I've migrated to other apps. After 21 days you're done. You don't have to leave, but it starts you over.
This app is actually really dope. I've been wanting to get better about meditating regularly. So I downloaded this to hold me to it. Im getting a lot more out of it than I figured. There are little training modules each day to go with your guided meditation sesh's. They let your mind chew on something while its guided into the right place(fairly friggin effortlessly btw). I'm also blown away that there aren't any ads or anything. There's just a place to offer a donation of you want.
I came to say I am in love with this app. From the articles prior to meditating (which are motivating within themselves), the nursery, the voice guiding the meditation, the amount of time spent so far on each session (I'm half way through my third week), I can't even think of something that would be a negative. First app to ever help me stay committed to a practice I know is so crucial and beneficial to me. Thank you so much!!!
Atom is my favorite meditation app. I have adhd and I really struggle with it. But something about the garden growing aspect of this game and the nature of the short meditations (that seem to blend in to the experience instead of distracting you... I dont know how, maybe this one just works for me.) It just hits my reward center right without seeming daunting or becoming a chore. It's a gift to be able to write this review, I feel like I've come a long way with meditation.
Easy to get into & stick with. The app isn't bloated with extra content, & that makes a huge difference. Once a day, I open the app, do a quick meditation, read a few short blurbs about meditation, habits, motivation, or something else along those lines, and then I get on with my day, very calmly. I've only completed 3 days, but I do have meditation experience with other apps. I rate this app "so far so good" out of 5.
Lovely relaxing app that incorporates nature. The subscription is quite expensive and for some reason the annual plan costs more than the monthly? Even so, I highly recommend this app. The free version allows you 1 guided meditation per day. I like it also because it strives dor progress, not perfection. Overall, i would say it is a very helpful app.
This app makes meditating really easy and fun. The walk through is always very pleasant, and the mini articles are quite motivational. I would highly recommend this, and I have to a handful of people. My only wish is that it could be easier to find the favorite sessions and articles and that the sessions could be longer without paying.
This app is the only mindfulness I've ever been able to stick to. The sessions are short, and the man's voice is soothing, but more conversational than "new agey". I like that because it seems more authentic. There are also short, daily articles to read with applicable tips and information to help you make small changes in any area of your life.
Simple meditations but great for beginners I think. The articles aren't the best writing and the questions are often not quite connected and so it's easy to get questions wrong due to similar answers and not being directly quoted in the text. Besides that I'm enjoying the reminder to meditate and having a guided meditation that I don't have to go and find myself. Oh and the Birch trees are super cute.
I saw a post by someone how they had fewer/no breakdowns ever since they started meditating. So I wanted to try it out and I wanted a guided, easy to follow meditation app. And this is just so nice! I like the daily lessons after each session. I like that it doesnt require me to focus or meditate for more than 5 mins. It's simple, easy and oh, a cute layout too!
If you're looking for a simple, free way to begin meditating, this is a fantastic way to start. I'm only on day three, but I love how short and clear these first meditation sessions are and how supportive the app feels, overall. Some of the verbal cues have delivered very helpful visuals or reminders during the practice. I look forward to uncovering more and hopefully developing into longer sessions (currently, they last about 3 minutes each, but I imagine we'll build).
