aTranslator - Text & Voice

The current version of this app is not as easy as the previous version was to use. Any difficulties that exists now are primarily due to features and options that are regularly required to be attended to and answered before one can go forward with simply typing in what one wants to have translated. I believe that the old KISS ( keep it simple, stupid!) rule may apply here!

I love that it seems to translate very well. However, when you want to hear the translation, it does not use a native speaker's voice. Instead, it uses a Canadian / United States speaker's voice / accent. This is really not helpful, when I'm trying to learn how the target language is spoken. I think four stars is too much. If I could, I would give it 3 and 1/2 Stars. Edit: my opinion has not really changed. I find myself using another app more often, to hear the language from a natural speaker.

I have 2 different languages, and it works perfectly Well love it. i have a couple more languages to add... THERE IS NO WAY TO SEND THIS, NOTHING COMES UP TO CLICK ??? just figure it out how to send it must hit letter p.At the top right hand corner, bizarre , no other instructions on how to send ?? well , now the p disappears , so it's good to use hard to send !!!

As a translation app, it's ok. It's not appreciably better or worse than Google Translate though, so when I discovered that it auto-starts when my device boots up AND it resists being manually shut down (i.e. it restarts itself automatically without asking for permission), I decided to uninstall it. Bottom line: I don't need or want a translation app that runs constantly in the background. There are too many better alternatives that don't have this behavior.

The app doesn't use the accent of the language being translated into, so the pronunciation is wrong. The written translation seems to be fine. The ad shows someone speaking into the app, and then the app translates to a different language. Then the app is handed to the other person to speak their response and have it translated into your language using a drop-down. However, you have to manually change the language on both sides every time you switch back and forth. It's tedious.

The translations, as well as what I want translated, play back at a ridiculously ultra-high speed that is not understandable, which is one reason I want a translator, to hear the language spoken properly. The other half is getting an accurate translation - when the app asked if I liked it and then would I rate it, the broken, grammatically incohesive English used to ask me, tells me that this app doesn't work well enough for the app's owner to translate correctly! It's useless as it is now.

This has been a lifesaver at work. People will usually come up to my register speaking english, but there's often times people that know spanish or russian or other languages when I only know english. Being able to use this to break through that language barrier has made things so much easier for everyone. The ease of use with the app is amazing, and paired with it having every language pre-loaded makes it one of the best I've found!

Damn near works like malware. I can't close it, pop ups ads when it's telling it's not open but BIG SHOCK it's actually sitting here open right now. Doesn't understand anything I tell it via the microphone and practically useless. It literally won't close even if you tell it to, report this app as suspicious! This cannot be safe or good for your phone battery at the very least.

I love it! it's not easy to translate one language to another; especially when the rules of grammar shift from time to time in a lot of languages. I have seen for myself the fine tuning that both German and English have undergone since I was in high school in the 1960s. By the time I finished college, the little changes were already happening.

the app works great. it is easy to use and understand. the camera translator get overwhlemed and stops working if used too much in a short period of time. otherwise a very useful and helpful tool.

The app doesn't translate slang all that well (I think in some cases it's because of cultural idioms that don't really have an equivalent term in certain languages), but it's working for me pretty reliably otherwise.

This app has been such an amazing app because it allows me to communicate with a new friend from another country when I was a young lady in my teen years ago I had a friend in Australia and I had a friend in Europe and we would write letters and the only thing we could understand was the pictures or the postcards that we sent because we all spoke different languages. This app is amazing 👏 as a twelve-year-old growing up looking at the show The Jetsons, we laughed;said it would never happen.

I'm not happy now. After a very good day of using this app, now it's giving me a crazy message about the service being down. I was quite happy for a day. okay I'm adding more on to the bottom of my report. in my review this time it's going to be better because it's working absolutely great I just hope it doesn't shut off on me again down time is awful

easy to use, except the screen you text on is hidden so unable to see what you texting, m aking it difficult to go back and correct. Also, at times in the middle of your msg, they flash a msg asking to rate the app. if you agree or disagree everything youve text so far is wiped out

I work in an office that has many Spanish speaking clients and sometimes even the spanish I have is not enough for me to describe what I need to so when I talk to this app and tell it what I want to say it translates and whether it's my Spanish or my Chinese , I have been able to explain to them what I needed to.

Well "aTranslator" has all its marbles and outruns my previous translator: "Translate." Where "aTranslator" is more intuitive in design. A delight to use. Also faster and more accurate.

I just like some new languages but it's kind of hard to learn them so these days I've been just trying to use the easiest translators so I can just say the word easier

fantastic little app when I'm not 100% sure what I'm typing in Spanish. It has greatly improved my Spanish communication skills.

works very well for when I text my friend in china ..he thought I really knew how to speak it lol I wish thats one language I hear is the hardest to learn. but this app must work very well to get a question like that.
