At the moment, I really like this app. I had t2s for a long time, recently I had to find a new app, bc I realized it was no longer receiving updates for years and it was no longer in the store. I love that the you can fix the pronunciation of words which the other one could not do. I can set the page to auto next for the next chapter. I only have one problem and that is when someone calles me. it will pause when a person is calling, but when I answer the call, it will continue to play the book.
Honestly, it's absolutely great. I have this app read Ao3 stories all day while I'm working. I love that I can add word with the correct pronunciations so it'll read strange words or names correctly. I love that I can change or add voices, the dark mode, and bluelight filters! I do wish it had multiple tabs so I can listen to different things without loosing my place on other things. Nevertheless, still one of the best apps out there to read things for you. Is there a Desktop version too?
There are a lot of great things I love about this app. If you read a lot of online webnovels like I do, there are some great features like being able to automatically go to the next chapter. It uses the built in TTS voices so it doesn't charge you per word like other popular apps. I only have two complaints, it doesn't have an ad blocker, and while I can save a bookmark, I can't seem to find how to open a bookmarked page.
I didn't even know how much I needed the multi-tab feature until they added it! Makes it even easier to read offline even without downloading multiple texts. This is one of the most essential apps for me. It's very intuitive, easy to configure, and allows you to personalize speed, voice and pitch, besides the pronunciations of specific terms. Very few issues, mostly with abbreviations. The mobile version can even load the next chapter automatically on a keyword (not yet on tablet)
Works well for some webpages, but can be frustrating at times. The 'skip words' feature doesn't seem to work for me at all anymore for some reason. What I really need is features like 'skip header' or 'skip paragraph'. The ability to skip hyperlinks would be good because for some reason the reader mode includes hyperlinks from ads on the page and then reads them aloud. I don't want to hear 'play video' or '100 ways to pop pimples' or other ads in reader mode mid-article.
After using this app, I can no longer have a person read aloud my books. The inflections in the various automated tones are just enough to get the words across without forcing imagination aside. You can change the speed, pronunciation, skip sections, save pages to listen to offline or with bad internet. The only troublesome part is all the downloaded pages being unable to be sorted in any way besides alphabetical. Hard to find pages I can't remember the name of. Folders or more sorting, perhaps?
The perfect app for reading webnovels or other stories online in TTS. Ive tried em all, they either want a subscription with an insane 1 year buy in upfront to even TRY them, or they just don't work to allow you to navigate the webpages and still have it read. Edit: after a week of use, it's SO much better. you can adjust and pick words, phrases, or symbols to skip on whatever site you have loaded, you can set up auto next page, there's...just so much good about this app. I hope it stays free
This reader is my go to and I wish I could use it on my PC. I won't even bother trying to use other apps. a feature that I find helpful when reviewing legal filings is the ability to remove the repeated sequential numbers on each page and any other redundant repetition of words I want to exclude is very simple. I also use the bookmark function to easily go to after when I want to remember to address a particular reference. I also enjoy the donation and voice I chose and find it reads my document
....Uninstalled a couple hours. Good concept with allowing to copy and paste website you want to listen to. Could not skip past the digital info associated with the pictures on the site I was trying to "hear." Had to keep coming back to phone to click where it should read and despite the articles being very long, app would read only a portion and go right to the very end, despite numerous attempts to prevent this. 😔
Best apps that can read website! Better than screenreader & Google read aloud. I haven't use it to read epub/pdf yet, but I use it to read webnovel (website) while I do other work and it's wonderful. The ads aren't intrusive and I like that it doesn't show while you're reading. Thank you for not letting ads interrupt my reading time. Plus what I like about this app the most is the option to correct pronunciation! This makes listening less awkward with non-English words and names. 🙌
really. really good. I can listen to articles online, include which parts to skip/interact with the web page so it doesn't just read the whole page, epub files work, has (as far as I've seen, an unlimited amount of) bookmark function, I can speed up the audio faster than 2x speed. and it saves on exactly what line you're on so you don't have to scroll back down when you close it. the range of different voices you can choose are pretty cool. I use this everyday at work.
I use this app pretty much all day to read on AO3. I like the voice options and read speed (1.25x preferred here 🤣) and change the pronunciation of words as a rule. Autoclick to next chapter, downloading stories, telling it to stop and not read the html embedded bits. It remembers where I was with the bookmark option if the page reloads and I was in the middle of an online 125k word story. lots of options if you actually look in settings. Tried lots of other apps, landed here forever ✨
It works pretty well. However, there are many bugs. One big is that the pause button on my bluetooth headset doesn't pause the play. Another is, play doesn't pause or stop when a call comes in. Another is that it doesn't remember what was being read. It must reload the web page. This is a problem if the page is transitory or you are without data coverage when you return to the article.
While the app works well normally, it has been having issues recently. At times while the app is playing, it will randomly pause and skip words before continuing normally. I have not put any of my settings to skip any words or anything else either. I restarted my phone a couple times in an attempt to fix it, however it was largely unhelpful. Im not sure how to fix this and other then this issue the app works really well for its text to speach abilities.
This has allowed me to listen to webpages (primarily fanfictions...) that otherwise do not have built-in reading/text to speech capabilities. It has made long drives much more pleasant experiences as a result. Or even just listening to something as I am trying to fall asleep. I would pay for a premium version of it I am so pleased.
The only thing missing in my opinion is the ability to change the text color, i like to read green text on a black background, its the easiest on the eyes. This makes for a good reading app (not just TTS) because all I have to do is share the link to audify from my main browser to get properly word wrapped enlarged text. This is the coolest app I've ever found. Now I can "read" for 8 hours a day while I'm working
Works wonderfully! It goes through the text of a webpage, skipping words and characters specified by the user, and can auto-click a button with a specific text to auto-continue on another webpage. One feature I would like to see is a button to skip to the auto-click function, if the user has it set up. It would let me skip past reading comments and other bottom page fluff faster. Another feature I like would be to let us block elements of a page faster. Blocking individual phrases takes time.
Honestly I went into this app as a replacement for Google Go. I tried many others, but dam. You really don't need any other one. Works with the main sites I use and more. The auto read function and all the edits you can do. This app is a must if you listen to novels online. You will not regret it. Also you can change the voice.. To ones that won't bore you out of your mind while listening. Just try it. (I didn't know about the autoclick function that will go to the next page. You need this app)
This has been a life saver, I read like a fish needs water but recently my migraines have been making that impossible, so i downloaded this on a whim to try out- and I've tripled my usual book intake! Super easy to use, very clear info on how to personalize and runs in the background if you need to turn your screen off or do something else on your phone, deadass, 10/10 love this app
☆4.7☆ able to search using a half dozen of the top search engines and still more than a mere web browser that can read the page to you. downloads webpages straight to the app, a built-in translation function, an in-app notepad, a search feature that highlights words, and the feature that I primarily use the app for is its ability to upload or download pdf's and various files for dictation. bugs displaying some graphics on web pages and isn't able to follow text not set to a standard format.
