AutoRap by Smule: Rap to Beats

In 2015 it was a really fun and easy to use app. Then suddenly I started losing money on music I paid for. Would not save paid music or recordings. I finally gave up and un installed it. Now six years later i figured I'll try it again and it seems even worse to me. I liked how it now has a video option now but that it. The sound is pretty yucky. No control on sound effects. Can't save to device. Have to post and I couldn't find any saved. Couldn't find my old ones either. Was 4 star now 1

The reworked app is complete garbage. The algorithm that matched voice to music used to be spot on. Now it never works. All the tracks are distorted, too quiet or too loud. Half my recordings just disappeared. Some are still there, but are now chopped up differently, with whole sections now missing. If you think this is a good app, you are selling yourself short. Playing music over your speakers and singing into a voice recorder app is better than this. Straight Up Garbage!!

This app is a SCAM/FRAUD. I downloaded the app yesterday (because It seemed pretty cool, based on the information that I had read about it on the Google Play Store). Anyway, after wasting about 15-20 minutes of my life trying to figure out what features I could access WITHOUT paying for the upgraded version.... bottom line is that you literally CAN'T DO A DAMN THING unless you agree to be scammed, I mean pay a lot of money for the "upgraded version". Couldn't contact support through the app.

The result song you can listen to straight after Auto Rapping is different from the one which gets uploaded to your profile. More specifically: Word placement gets completely changed, the super autotuned sections between "verses" are no longer present, which creates big silent spaces of just pure music without words. Essentially, the song you choose to upload is not the same as what will actually be uploaded. The only thing that stays the same is the track itself.

Great fun but when you rap on your own good luck trying. Gotta get a pair of headphones plugged in because you will get awful feedback. Why can't the music play through something else while recording? Also add some more Andy Mineo and LeCrae Beats. And how about some GRITS tracks as well Edit: the recent update slowed down the auto rap feature. it loads fine. the problem is slow bars and deleted tracks

Bug maybe? The speech to rap option doesn't really work for us. We are connected to a strong wifi and all, but no matter how long we talk for for any beat, it always asks us to talk longer, even though we had good speech till the end of the timer bar. It worked for my one friend a while back and we had great fun, not really sure why its not working at the moment :/ I really dont mind the whole payment system, I just dont see the point in paying for something that doesnt really work.

Recorded a song with the Talk option. Named it, and hit the save button. Then it's just gone. It's not in my profile, not on my phone, just gone. I tried to remake the song 10 times, and it never uploads it to my profile. When I listen to the previews, it poorly edits in anything said, and loses half of it. What's the point of I can only listen to a small preview that cuts off half of what I sang in the first place?

Videos don't show up after you make them in many cases. I believe this is because of the rendering or when they are uploading the song when they process it, is glitched out. My internet is fine. Please fix the thing that processes and renders video. I don't expect to see another at this point a lq video is better then none.

How about let us watch an ad for a song to make it free for a day? We want 5 songs? Make us watch 5 ads or maybe 2 ads for one each at least. That would be more fair since I understand nothing can be free. Also, for subscriptions, add more benefits, maybe exclusive songs, earlier access to them, etc. ? It has potential, but I feel as if it's over priced, and making such changes can create more traffic and business with your app.

Quite disappointed with SMULE. they used to have a pretty cool video version of this and now this audio version they gouge you for money. for those who will only use the app a few times a year, it's not worth the monthly rates. Smule should provide an option where a set price gives you a set amount of songs, regardless what month I use the app

What happened to this app man, the talk to rap feature is not working anymore. That was the only reason it was fun to use this app. It transformed your speech into rap lyrics with all the beats, it was really fun. Don't know what happened but thats not working anymore. Everytime I record the voice and hit next it says 'talk longer' in yellow text. Doesn't matter however long or clear the audio clip is, it just doesn't work. Please fix this it's a beautiful app, I want to play with it again.

This used to be a good app, now there is no autotune or mixing of your voice to match the song you have chosen. Now there is just silence at the start with just the instrumental (before this would be autotune with your voice coming in straight away) then there would be regular untouched vocals for a few seconds after which more autotune would come in to end the song. What has this app become it's terrible now, used to be so much fun to mess around with it with friends.

I was an AutoRap fan back when it was still fresh so imagine my disappointment when I revisited it to make some fun raps and find out that they removed the record scratching feature, the ability to name your tune, add my own "album" image, and even search for users! What happened? I can't even earn free plays because I've yet to see any offers.If these features are available through some pro version well then it's not made clear anywhere. It's a shame because it was a fine app before.

Yooo! I remember the last time I used this app and it was the coolest . The previous version was the best. This updated one ( which I installed in my phone) is totally a BIG TRASH!. you use Auto rap and the sounds overshadow your voice. When I chose to talk to the mic and turn my words into rap, it turns out to be DISASTROUS! Please take us to the previous version 😊 Please always give us room to make beats and edit our records in case we find ourselves in such situation.

Wow. That was a waste of my time (and thankfully, not my money). Only 3 free songs and they all suck, like most songs in the catalogue (which aren't even mostly hip hop songs). Can't even search a song's name to see if, in case I paid, it would be there. Don't waste your money.

paid for vip. You cant change/edit your songs in any way. You dont have a time bar so you have to listen to the whole song. Songs tent to load for ages even while connected to wlan. (some songs wont even load so you have to restart the app) There is no search bar for the beats, no numbers or a "add to favorites" button. You have to scroll through 100 beats and hope to find the one you're looking for. My songs sound different (some of them) on my phone than on the site where I can share them.

Why are there salty 1 and 2 star reviews for this??? This is a really fun app and I'm not sure what you are really expecting aside from spitting some hilarious bars a cappella or over a beat. And if you want to complain about 4.99 for a month of all the samples to flow over, you should get a job because these apps, believe it or not, cost both time and money to develop. Who would have thought, right? A+ to the dev team.

So glad I didn't pay up for all the other songs! The app is great - if you want to sound like a robot on fast forward. Speeding everything up and making your voice sound muffled doesn't equal rap. Personally I think the idea is great, but it definitely has been released too quickly. There's way too much that still needs to be perfected in the code. I wouldn't suggest you download.

This is so bad! You push the red button and the Music stops!. Then, you're supposed to rap with no effects? Also, the mic is so "hot" (to much volume ) it overrides the music. The timing is off on all songs, the whole thing is a complete mess what a waste don't download it it's embarrassing! This is mess! I'm not sure what they're doing here this thing makes no sense do not download it! UPDATE: I cant be any more specific you guys! Your response is like your app! Lackluster

I'm actually really sad about this experience. A couple years back we had this app on my man's i pad and had a lot of fun with it. He lost his i pad and we lost everything saved. now i downloaded it on my cell phone and was excited because it was working the first 3 times, now everytime I record something at the end it says please talk longer and doesn't save anything. I've tested it over and over. i let it go to the end until you you can't talk anymore, still says the same thing.im deleting it.
