Terrible app, least user-friendly ever. Be sure to screenshot your boarding pass when you finally figure out how to get it! There is no "get boarding pass" link without going through the entire check-in process from the start, including entering the confirmation code every single time. No access within about 5 minutes of scheduled departure time. Pay attention Avelo! Your competitors have figured out what flying customers need.
The worst app I have EVER used. So many problems and errors EVERY TIME I go to book a trip. It's almost always literally impossible to book a trip on the app AND website. Back on the 4 hour call wait list. For any first timers... when you can't book on app, call the number, follow the prompts, wait on the line for about 5 mins or so and it will eventually give you the option for a "call back." I got that routine down by now. About to go back to making the hour drive to Tampa to fly American.
Absolutely the worst airline app I've ever used. There is no permanent button to find your boarding pass; you need to manually enter flight info to find it, even though it shows your upcoming flight on the home screen. Also no alerts or notifications, within the app itself or via push notification, when the flight is delayed. You specifically need to search for flight status; tapping on the flight you're about to take on the home screen doesn't bother informing you it's delayed. Utterly useless
just booked my first flight on Avelo's website. downloaded this app, and just like most reviews, the app immediately crashes when scrolling past the first page. Haven't seen any feedback from support. update: emailed support telling them their app doesn't work, received a reply that their IT department is aware and working on a fix. this was a month ago! I guess their one employee in IT has been on vacation for a while! 😀
No multi-city option when booking on the app or laptop. I like to fly into JAX and out of DAB, but there's no way to do that as a round trip which forces you to book two separate reservations. Too much hassle so I often pay for delta even though I prefer your local airport nonstop. Delta's fares are similar when you add in the charges for bags, seats, and daily flight choices. Terrible checkin experience flying out of Jacksonville especially when you have to check a bag or need a wheelchair.
App will randomly crash. This wouldn't be a big deal if the website didn't almost always fail to load. With both services constantly inoperable, I have to brute force my way through check in or flight status check ups by doing it over and over again until it actually loads. It didn't used to be like this. I don't know why the app is terrible now.
Absolutely the most bizarre travel app I've ever used! It makes you a create account yet the ONLY thing the account does is store your name. No upcoming flights, you have to enter your confirmation and last name EVERY TIME despite the fact that you've logged into YOUR OWN ACCOUNT! It seems like they just wrote this app to say "we have an app" because it really does NOTHING that's useful! It's literally easier to take a pad and write everything on the screen down instead of using this "app".
I'm confused, The app looks fine until you try to book a fight, whenever I try to put in the airport for the destination. It's only showing two irrelevant airports on the search and cannot search for any other airports at all. Even if I put in the acronym for the specific airport and still nothing comes up. ALSO, the icons at the bottom of the screen (home,flights,book,menu etc.) are blocking the view and I can't see the total amount to book my flight.
Bug ridden awful app. Tried to book a flight for just myself at the end of January and when i went to buy the tickets, the price jumped up to $800 instead of $150. Why? Because it changed the amount of people from 1 to 5 randomly, changed the location of the flight randomly, and the dates to mid March. It's a good thing i double checked all the details because that's absolutely ridiculous. Really like using Avelo but their app is completely useless.
This app is slow when accessing data, which suggests that Avelo's back end infrastructure is slow. This is especially notable when checking in and the necessary information is spread out over numerous pages. Also, once checked in, the app no longer makes it possible to find your boarding pass again (the only airline app I've used that does this). So, you must text it, email it, or screenshot it before closing out of the check-in process or you'll be standing in line for paper tickets.
Update: Although the app does feel better to use. It still lacks any real functionality. For example, you can not quickly check in to your flight since it requires your confirmation number. You can not easily view your flight info. It takes you to an edit screen. The day of your return flight will not show your flight at all. There is no way to access your boarding pass. Basically, it still lacks almost all functionality that it would be expected to have
New version is such an improvement! Now I don't have to find my booking number to look up my flights anymore. The app is still a bit sluggish, but leaps and bounds better than the previous version. Update 1/17/24: New update has stopped the ability to enter into current reservations. It says "something went wrong". Restarted phone, app, cleared cache, same issue. Please fix!
Doesn't display boarding pass, asks for all your info even when you're logged in, very sluggish, havent used it for booking, seems nearly useless, as though the app designers havent bothered to look at another airline app, so have no clue how good ones work. It doesn't even have an option to see your currently booked flights. You can check flight status within a couple days of flight but not before.
I don't know if Avelo knows their app keep crashing and want load. I close the app many times and even restart my phone, but nothing works now. it's an ok airline, just as basic as you get. I just wish the app would push notifications and service disruptions quickly. Also, once you check in, there's no way to add a bag it's annoying. You have to call to add the bag or use a voucher to pay for it. Just hope the next update includes these basically all airlines' functions.
Made attempts to book online & through the apps. I called in to report that system was just looping, told "we do not have any reports of any outages." Even when I called their phone system, in leaving my call back number it simply repetitively asked to enter the number again to provide a valid number. When finally spoke to a representative told to clear my cache & cookies even though I've used 4 different computers, 3 different phones= same results. Notice the stars here vs. other airline apps.
This might be one of the worst apps I've used in years. It's just a poorly optimized web wrapper. Pages keep reloading themselves if anything else loads on the phone. The reload prevents password managers from working. Also no option to just click my flight and check in? I have to copy and paste the confirmation code manually. Add boarding pass to Google wallet? Have to log into Google again instead of it just passing the boarding pass to Wallet on my phone. Super frustrating.
I continue to get the error "5 fields need attention before proceeding." Tried to book multiple times on app and online. When I call in, the pricing over the phone is more expensive. Pathetic airline! Probably bleeding money like crazy if people can't book. No wonder the flight I was looking at is empty.
I believe that I could have done everything from a mobile browser without the app. I needed to input my confirmation number in order to check in because there is no user login, but it was simple and I was easily able to load my boarding pass into my Google wallet. I have no complaints; I had a great flight and mobile check-in worked just fine.
Doesn't work on Galaxy S8 or S8+. App opens but as soon as you scroll up to see or find your reservation the app crashes. Some things work but most crashes so you barely have 2 stars.
App keeps closing. Every time I open the app and try to do anything, it closes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalled the app, but the same thing happens. Hopefully they get this figured out. Love the airline, but dislike the app.
