Calendar is unusable and app frequently crashes on catalog. you cannot scroll left and right on the calendar without switching between the "reserved" and "favorites" category so I literally cant use the calendar. you also have to do so many small little swipes to go up and down on the calendar. this is not yo mention the app crashing while scrolling through the catalog. you would think Amazon would want to make a great app experience for their events but I guess not.
Doesn't seem to have any login, automatic registration or any other obvious integrated features that would make a day at big event go smoothly. There ommision is really odd given what Amazon do and the in- house talent they have. Given the app is meant to help people navigate, it doesn't seem to know where we are, instead you keep having to exit the map and search for the stand you are near. there are indoor navigation library to use (and there is loads of amazon signage to hide a beacon in)
Overall, the app was very helpful during reInvent. However, it was slow to load due to Amazon Q trying to come up with session recommendations. Most times, I did not want that. I wanted to check my calendar or look up a session from the catalog. The navigation to a venue feature needs work to be of value. It hides or grays out important details and just shows the outline of buildings. It would be nice if the calendar automatically added the session when my badge was scanned upon entry.
Pretty bad. SUPER unresponsive. A lot of times, clicking items doesn't do anything. You have to leave the app to get a general agenda as well as FAQs and other information. No information as to session size so we can figure out the chances of getting into a session if we're on wait-list. Plus a ton of other super obvious problems.
the application during reinvent would have notifications, and if you click the notification, all it does is open the application to the default home page. you have no idea what the notification event is or location to find the event. it's pretty useless. very frustrating and I find myself visiting the help desk unnecessarily. The directions fails spectacularly when walking inside each conference center because it is thinking you are outside.
slow and unresponsive when you need it: at best usable. even an app that needs to download tons of assets loads faster than this app. also the calendar UX is terrible. gestures are not read correctly and views got reset to beginning of the day too often (unnecessarily). if I close the details view for an 4pm event, I have to scroll (if gestures are read correctly) again from 6am glad I don't have to use this app often
Piss-poor app. Whenever you open the app, it seems to download all the content anew. There's obviously less than stellar connectivity during re:Invent, making this practically unusable anywhere in the major venues.
The app was not helpful. it is slow and clunky. in particular the calendar. scroll is horribly difficult. in addition I can't see my registered sessions and favorites at the same time as can be done on the attendee portal on the web
primary purpose of the app is calendar management and somehow that's the worst part. dragging around the calendar, which is really the only way to interact with it, randomly stops working, so you constantly have to swipe swipe swipe just to move around slightly. terrible experience.
Won't run on rooted devices. There is absolutely no reason for a glorified schedule and info app to not allow that.
No my favorite checkbox in the search that shows just my favorite session. It's available in the website. Also the app stuck on loading randomly. Seems like made using vibe coding
Although the app isn't as snappy quick as other apps, I didn't experience the slowdowns my colleague and other users have experienced (I use a Samsung S10+). That being said, there were times where info was unavailable, or that sessions I already reserved shows no more seats available. The information provided was very useful, but reliability could've been better.
scrolling on the calendar/agenda is the most annoying UI experience I've had since early smartphone days. other parts are fine.
For the most part the app does what it needs to, but at reinvent 2019 I keep getting notifications with useful information, then when I click them they disappear and I can't read the whole message or get it back. About half the time I load the app my schedule says it isn't available yet and I have to try for a few minutes to restart the app and my phone until I can get it to load.
Early in the re:Invent week, reserving a seat would only work half the time. Halfway through the week, now I am able to reserve seats in the app without issue, but am not actually registered when I get scanned in at the door. In addition, my previous review of this app was removed. Exceptionally poor user experience.
Reserved seating just opened yesterday for re:Invent 2019. I was expecting to be able to view the catalog and see my schedule in the app, but they're completely missing. Only basic profile info and transportation info is available. Definitely a disappointment, especially from a tech company like AWS. Hoping all the pertinent event data is available soon, otherwise this app will be useless. EDIT: catalog and planner + more are now available. Looking much better!
Content disagrees with website. Key example, website says session is booked, app says spaces available. Sometimes pressing buttons does nothing, so you don't know if you can't do something because of policy (enforces 1hr between sessions at different sites), if you've lost WiFi, or the app has crashed Some good features but it's too heavy, switching apps on my 3GB Android makes it restart, last thing I need when I'm moving between seminars.
Good app, as far as information it gives (how to get around and whatnot). Well thought out with regard to the UI. However, it does run slow when registering button clicks. It doesn't seem to be storing my planner locally (said the server wasn't available at the start of the conference when I was trying to find the room for my bootcamp) and that's kind of weird. Also, it gives lots of event info, but it would also be nice if it gave the network password for where you are currently located.
App is horribly laid out for trying to identify the schedule of events. There is no way to get a single grid view that shows all talks going on at each time in each location. I thought this was the most basic of features for any event app like this but apparently amazon doesnt think its needed. Without this it makes it hard to easily plan out what you want to attend
Terrible. Full of bug during the re:invnt event. Impossible to reserve a seat. Crash all the time. Catalog using the website is differenf from the app. Bootcamps need to be paid a part, even if you pay 1700 dollars for the full event, but this information is in nowhere in the app or in the website. Amazon events is tricky and this app make it a nightmare. Do not even try to ask someone, most of them only know how to press button, unfortunalety they were well trainned for the event. NIGHTMARE
