Basic features are there. The download speed is fine, but the listing of Downloads takes a long time to load for the first time. Once you view the file, go back, the same amount of time has to elapse for the listing to become available again. Also, because the backup browse only shows file names, you can't find the photo you want to download without downloading it first. It would be nice to be able to mark multiple photos for download, or entire directory to speed up this process.

Good app so far, but simple. It would be nice to be able to preview thumbnails of videos or view files in different views, such as tiled. Also, is there a way to view the current backup progress? I am away from my PC, and in the app all I can see is the number files backed up and their size. Like in the back blaze panel on my PC it would be nice to say the total and remaining file count, as well as size. Also, an average backup speed too would be great. Thanks!

It's getting better but not perfect. Despite having fingerprint longings enabled, I'm constantly asked for my password. It shows you how much data is backed up, which is nice. It would also be nice to show progress of ongoing backups. That said, I like how I can see what files I have backed up and have the ability to download them. Having B2 as an option next to my backup is a bit confusing because there's no mention of cost or anything.

I love the service, but wish the app let me see thumbnails. When accessing an album, it's hit or miss to find the pic you're looking for in an album of hundreds of pix. It is also painstakingly slow, and often crashes. GREAT service, but the mobile app sorely leaves a lot to be desired :( My 2 star review is for the APP. I give Backblaze service itself 5 stars.

How can a company make such a wonderful product like backblaze and have a non-functioning app? 2fa works, sign in works but that's all. No buckets, not file lists, nothing except a screen that says "no results". I'm truly disturbed, astonished and actually a little concerned. If they put this kind of effort into the android app, it makes me question whether my data is really 'safe'.

The Search function is missing. It would be very helpful to be able to search the current folder and all those beneath it by a part of the name and to limit to files only, folders only, or both. The presentation is odd, mixing files and folders. An option to list all folders first and then all files, each group in alphabetical order would be welcome. The PC backup service is excellent!

Horrible app. If you want to download a folder in a bucket, it isn't possible. You have to go into each and every sub-folder in that, and click on every single file to download it. You can long press on a folder, but the only action from there is an option to delete. The option to download an entire folder in a bucket seems like a very basic feature that should be present. Have the developers who made this app even used it themselves? Your folder has 80 files? You click 80 times to get them all.

All in all, I'm disappointed with Backblaze. Granted, sadly there are no other providers that offer unlimited backup at a reasonable price. But the user interface is awkward and unprofessional (web, desktop or mobile), as if it was made in the 90's at best. The mobile app simply doesn't work - crashes when trying to access any file and slow as hell when browsing. The customer support is fine though not great and usually gives unsatisfying responses. Anxiously waiting for a better alternative.

I am able to log in and see all my files. After hitting the download button, it just throws an error: unable to download the file.

App stopped working today. I just checked the app today, I can login but tapping on my bucket or settings, nothing happens. This was working previously. Trying multiple times I can get into the bucket, but it shows nothing (empty). Update: It was Notifications. But is there no way to make the app work without notifications? I really don't need notifications from this app.

Unfortunately after entering decryption key the browse function never loads. In my browser it's not instant but loads eventually, on the app there is a spinning circle which then disappears with no message or error. No directory structure or files visible. Accessing files was the reason for downloading the app. Edit: Working the next day... Will change review if it keeps working 👍

Needed urgent access to a file while on the road and without laptop. App kept crashing, and when it finally downloaded, the file couldn't be opened. Hopeless. Totally unable to serve its intended purpose. One expects better from a mature product we have paid a lot for, and has me wondering about the integrity of the overall service.

You get less than what you pay for... I have paid for full backups of three computers for 5+ years. I actually had a hard drive fail, paid $200.00 for a physical drive to be sent, and three weeks later I get "drive is being built." Hmm, what I've paid them, I could have backed up all my computers with their best rated hard drives, and saved a few bucks.

Great that Backblaze works so well on mobile. App was unstable in previous version for me, but everything seems to work perfectly now. I've found it much more reliable than the Google Drive app. Only major missing feature is that you can't view file url's like in the web version, so it's trickier to share media links

I'm going to be canceling my subscription as the app truly sucks. It opens the first time you go to use it - then after that, all you get is a white screen. You have to go in and completely uninstall the app (not just delete it), reinstall it, and then you get to login one time before doing it all again. Defeats the whole purpose. Some other company must have a better app.

Am using the trial period before deciding to buy, thumbnail images are NOT displaying for jpg image files (as described/shown here and on your website). Is there a setting I'm missing to enable this, or is that depiction a false portrayal of the app? More than happy to upgrade to 5 stars 🌟 if I can enable this vital feature.

i love Backblaze and often recommend it but this companion App is poor. I found it to be very slow to display my files and even slower to download which you have to do in order to view any file. Even tiny text files were taking ages. Would be totally unusable for some of my larger files. Would be quicker to just go home and use my PC. Even if i was overseas i think it woukd still be quicker to go home than use this App. this app doesnt work on the OnePlus 7 Pro with all latest updates.

This app used to work just fine, but now it's broken and I can't download anything from the online backup. All it actually does is list my files, which isn't terribly useful when on the go. Any updates to this app and the client software are few and far between. I know it's a relatively cheap solution, but it may be worth taking my money elsewhere soon.

Works pretty well! Intial loading might take a few seconds but after that browsing folders is near instantaneous. Would be a very good Google Photos alternative if we were able to preview our photos with a thumbail view instead of having to download them blindly based on the file name.

The app works, but it lacks a lot of features I would expect. Best example is stuff like there's no folder download option. You have to download individual files one by one. This makes it painful to get any value from the Android app
