Backgammon: Dice Board Game

started occasionally getting stuck after my roll ,I'd have to go out of the game come back in , reroll . now it happens constantly . when I go out & come back in it's starts a whole new game . it's to the point that playing is futile . I love backgammon. but ... I have a few mobilityware games but this & the fact it gives ads after every hand & has started doing it in the middle of a hand (card games) is just too much . not only that but the ads sometimes don't want to be shut down .

HINT: If you don't want to watch the ads, just close the app as soon as the ad starts and then reopen the app. The game loads right away right where you left off. That said, the game used to be fair but they must have changed the algorithm. I used to play level 5 and win a fair amount. Now I play on level 3 and almost never win. It's so obviously rigged, it's not even fun.

Banner ads block the board. 90% of ads cover the entire top of the board, so you literally cannot see where the pieces are on half of the board. The ads totally break the game and make it literally unplayable, since you can't see the game. You can click the x on the ad and report it for "blocking content," but then it gives you the exact same ad after it closes the previous one. Garbage coding for their banner ads ruins game.

ADS ARE HORRENDOUS!!!! Opens okay store and auto downloads other games intrusively and with a ZFold7 it turns the screen catawhompus... infuriating. Add that to the fact that the algorithm gives the computer an out off the bar immediately and rarely for the player, and I'm done. uninstalling after a month of daily playing to see if anything improved. It does not.

I've been playing the game for years and know the rules, but not this one. I'd like this edition a lot better if when my game piece gets knocked off, the game won't let move to the corresponding open space of the dice. I can't drag it and I can't tap it in. nothing works to get it back into play. apparently the developers haven't figured that one out yet.

DOUBLE, DOUBLE, DOUBLE, DOUBLE I got real sick of seeing "double" option in my face neatly every turn, but only when it appeared I was about to lose. when I'm beating someone badly, I'm not given the option, and there is no option for choosing it whenever I want to. And, the ads come closer and closer together each game. I got around the ads by closing and reopening the app. Re the doubling, it popped up 8 or 10 times and I clicked it each time, then I left the game before the end.

They added ads that interrupt the game. very tedious. very dissapointing. I'm finding a different game and you should too. don't reward them . every game is interrupted by ads that you have to watch to continue. awful. and they don't care. all the reviews that say this same thing and they do not care. deleting now and you should too. if you haven't uploaded it yet then only do so if you love imposing ads and commercials. I think the ads last longer than an actual game. please ignore this game

This has been a good version, easy to use, and occasionally challenging. It doesn't always keep score correctly. For instance you can win a game worth the cube at 2 or more, but the Gabe will be scored as 1. Lately, ad banners are covering part of the board, making the game unplayable. Uninstalled it and will look for a different game. I understand that the ads pay for my ability to play. But when you allow ads to be so invasive that they interfere with play,you won't get any revenue ....

Seems like the rolling is very rigged towards the computer. If you leave anything open, the computer will likely put you on the bar 85% of the time. Rolls are too predictable for the computer. If you're asked to double against skill 5 especially, you can guarantee you will not stand a chance if accepted. I'm deleting this app for similar issues as others have reported. Too many ads. Game never stops. The computer seems to roll an improbable amount of "perfect" rolls.

it's very basic. the computer almost always goes first. almost always lands on you when it has the chance (somehow gets the perfect roll) and if it asks to double and you accept it proceeds to get three or four sets of doubles before the end of the game. I'm deleting it because I found a better game. Reason I went looking for a better one was because there used to only be ads between games. Then it started throwing another ad in the middle of every game. No thanks

Loved this app, but where they've resolved some of the pop-up ads, now the AI is grossly unfair. I'm on the bar for 15 rolls with two openings. I put the game on the bar with only two openings and the AI gets off on the first throw. And if there's a chance for the AI to hit your piece, you can bet it will roll exactly what it needs to do so.

it was great! but recently, the game freezes once the players start bearing off checkers. Ads still play in the top banner; I can still click to see the game's statistics; I can click to "end" the game (then click YES or NO) but the only way to finish is to exit/ minimize (not END) then wait 5 minutes. then go back and maximize and try to finish the game. I did uninstall and reinstall twice but the problem still exists. hope they will fix the bug

This used to be fun! The game was playable and quick, and I could play against other players or the computer. The ads were reasonably tuned and not intrusive. Now there are so many ads that they interrupt the gameplay. To make matters worse, the ads lock up so I have to restart the game to continue playing! Uninstalling!

Just dropped to 1 star. The ads between games were bad enough but now the game stops midway to run more stupid ads. It would have been 5 stars but now they've started with the ads between each game. And not one, quick ad. No. Two, long ads before I can start my next game... and I do want to play more games because this backgammon is good - it was great before they introduced the ads. The algorithm and rolls are fair and the interface is good. Shame about the ads.

Decent app, but on my device, the ads are sometimes impossible to exit. It frequently does not register when I hit the X, making it so I have to close the game and reopen it, which loses any scoring streaks. Edit: rolls are not random. Increasing difficulty doesn't increase the computer's playing ability, but just makes the rolls more likely to fall in the computer's favor. Lowering score to 3/5.

I play this game often and I enjoy it. I have a pretty good win ratio with the AI, and havent had as much trouble with excessive doubles like other players have. However, the doubling die doesn't work correctly. It seems to be a programming error that causes the game to be doubled immediately when the doubling is offered, which means even if you do not accept, you still lose the extra points. This is an actual bug and not an issue of bad RNG luck. Also, the banner ads sometimes overlap the game.

Fun game, but has ads popping up on the top of the screen that take away your controls to play the game with no option to close them. So you have to force close the game, or sometimes it even crashes. This was a poor choice for how to do ads, and an extremely poor implementation of them, that doesn't just ruin game play: it makes it impossible.

Al seems to always get doubles to get multiple players back in at once. There will be only one space open and two or three of Al's on the rack and shazzamm! It happened three times in one game not to mention the constant doubles to keep you from getting a gammon. Then I'll have some pieces up and can't seem to get them back in when only three spaces are taken up. I could place bets on when the doubles will come either way and win big. It's predictable. Airplane mode for no ads people.

The so-called "AI" (it's not actually AI, just simple algorithms) isn't any smarter at higher difficulty – it's just luckier than you with the dice rolls, getting more pairs and more advantageous rolls. So, the search continues for a better backgammon app. Edit: Their algorithm is so poorly programmed that, if you turn on the Auto Bear Off feature when available, you'll likely lose the game – the algorithm makes the worst possible choices when it plays for you.

The game is ok, but the programers allow the ads to post over the game, blocking the top row of pieces from being visible. This isn't the between game advertising DURING THE GAME. There is no way to close or relocate the ad to a different place on the screen; you just have to watch annoying popup ads, one after another, block the pieces on the screen. How incompetent is the programer who thought this was a good idea?? Or is it an employee that "works" from home that's not even paying attention?
