Backgrounds HD (Wallpapers)

After giving it a 5-star review in 2013 , I am now dropping it to a single star. I can not search for what I want with the search bar. It just takes me to the categories as soon as I click on the search bar to try to enter anything. Then, when I get to the categories, it will only let me see those labeled with the first few letters of the alphabet. This app is in no way user-friendly anymore. I will have to look elsewhere for great images like I used to find here. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I used to have this app for years and it was my go-to for all sorts of backgrounds. But in the recent years, what I assume is supposed better upgrades, are actually nuisances. There are no real categories to search. Instead, you have to sort through tags or creators. In order to download or share it forces you to log in or sign up, and only with a Google account or your Facebook. You get no other option. It went from a fun, awesome app to basically a waste of storage.

It is used to be a good app qith 5-star, but it is ruined, I lost access to my profile as it is only allowing you to log in using Facebook or Google, and Facebook login is broken. It has NSFW images without login and age verification. It is NOT 12+, the search is awful, it is just browsing categories you can't actually search, it is just random browsing, UI is awful! I miss the old app.

I loved using this, it had heaps of beautiful wallpapers, easy to scroll through, it would show you the pictures full size. And all could be downloaded without an account. But after the latest update this is all gone. I can't figure out how to even search. Can't see pictures full size. Scrolling through them is not user friendly. And now I have to sign in to download anything. No thanks! You had a great little app. Now it's ruined as far as I'm concerned.

I have been using this app for quite a few years. Gave it 4 stars back then. But after the recent update, I downloaded several images only to find out that only the last one remained in the gallery. The images are being overwritten, not saved separately. Huge disappointment and waste of almost 2 hours time.

I've used Backgrounds HD for several years now and I used to really enjoy the app; however, it has taken a significant turn for the worse. My main frustration with the more recent version(s) of the app is this weird new issue I'm having (perhaps a bug). Because of this issue or bug, no matter which wallpaper I choose, the app eventually just automatically reverts to one of 3 or 4 beach wallpapers. I've gone into the app's settings and have tried to see if there is any setting in there that would correct this behavior, but to no avail. I just can't seem to find what the cause of this is! And, it doesn't matter if I choose a new wallpaper from within the Backgrounds HD app or if I select an image from the photo gallery on my phone, no matter what I do, my phone still eventually reverts back to these 3 or 4 random beach images. I've even tried clearing the app's cache but that doesn't help. It's extremely frustrating! This became so annoying, that I've recently uninstalled the app from my phone! What is the point of having a wallpaper app if it has a mind of its own and reverts back to the same 3 wallpapers of its own choosing? It would be nice if this app had a setting that allowed the user to automatically change their wallpaper based on a selected time interval (such as every 1 hour, 3 hours, day, etc.). But, the user should be allowed to decide which wallpaper is chosen; perhaps one from one of the user's selected groups or favorites. Sadly though, I don't see any setting like this. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see it. It's really a shame that I had to remove this app as there are so many beautiful wallpapers to be found via the app's community! Hopefully your experience is better than mine.

I've been using this app since 2013 and initially rated it 5 stars. However, I recently noticed significant changes that have made me uncomfortable. The app now alters my phone's wallpaper background without permission when I download a picture. Additionally, it uploads all the photos from my gallery. I feel that my privacy may be compromised and no longer trust the app. I'm concerned about potential breaches of my personal data and its overall safety.

with every phone I get I automatically download this app. tons of pictures to choose from. love it! Well it seems they've updated this app... It's worse. Now you have to do tags to find a wall paper you like. It's annoying and time consuming. Downloaded something else. Wish you guys would have the original one!

I don't understand why have you changed the interface so much that we can't even find actual wallpapers. It has random photos of people, dogs and what not. They are not wallpapers, they are just photos. How are we supposed to set someone else's photos as our wallpapers. What's going on. Please bring the old interface back and I would be happy to rate you 5 again.

I've just recently uninstalled this app after using it for years, it became too intrusive and more focused on advertising than the submitted photos that were the reason I uploaded it to begin with. I'll check it periodically to see if it's worth downloading again, but for now I'm gonna say goodbye.

Don't like the changes. It used to be easier use. Now it's just too complicated and time consuming looking for something you like. Also, I had gotten it because I like to download backgrounds. Now it's just become another Facebook app, with people uploading personal photos of themselves. That needs to change.

Used to be my favourite app, but sadly everything is chargeable now and still there are tons of ads. I can't even browse all images if I am a free user. I'd be okay with an app that has limited purchases and doesn't spoil my complete experience if I am a fee user. I can't with a paywall on everything. Too much greed. Doesn't even have a dark mode, sucked the sleep out of my eyes in night. If you are asking for this much, atleast make a quality app.

I have been using this app for years. It has a wonderful collection of beautiful wallpapers. But lately you need to use your email to download any wallpapers. And it requires permissions such as accessing personal information associated with your email. There is no need for this and it feels invasive. Without granting these permissions, you cannot download any backgrounds which renders the app unusable. I will be uninstalling this app.

Agree with other comments...used this for a few years and now it is so busy / complicated. I just want pictures...I don't want to "sign in" or "invite friends" or have a "favorite creator" and all the other nonsense. It is like the developers took a simple concept ("Backgrounds" is its name) and have tried to turn it into a social media platform. No thank you.

This app is just the best wallpaper so out there. it's somehow being transformed to a social media as you can follow users or comment on their photo. with such options, it is expected to be able to customize a profile which is fairly available. however, I lost access to my previous email, and now am unable to temporary delete the app or test my phone to factory settings, because if I do, I'll lose my profile with friends, and photos I've uploaded. please bring us this feature. thanks a lot.

The categories are gone! The best part of this app was browsing the categories for exactly what I wanted. Terrible change. Like others have said, the update made things HARDER to browse and find! Awful. I'm uninstalling. (Developer response shows no comprehension of the complaints made.)

You get SO many backrounds for your phone! It's amazing. There's like, a million! And I'm not exaggerating one bit. There's that many. Also, the pictures are so creative and they have,like every kind of picture ever made. There's even quotes with a picture too, if you want that. You should totally install it! BEST APP EVER!

I have no idea what is happening. I was trying to buy pies for a clock but it kept charging me, not giving any pies then refunding. This happened four times with no reason as to why... However the customer service was very good and they quickly resolved the issue for me and even with this issue the app is still very good.

I've used this app for a long time and really loved the backgrounds. However since you radically changed the user interface and now use tags instead of categories I'm finding it confusing and difficult to navigate and view images. Tags aren't helpful unless I already know exactly what I want. With categories I could browse a general concept and be pleasantly surprised with everything related to that topic. Now it's a disappointing experience.

I would have given this app a five star. However, it used to have different categories such as 100,000+ downloads, Best HD background, music, monochrome, quotes, etc. But now, I cannot find these categories. It was really easy to use the app when the categories were there. Could you pls bring back this feature? Thank you.
