The app works well for the map. I like how you can pick entertainment areas, or restaurants, etc to narrow down what you are looking for. Although some of the items listed are not where they actually are. There are modifications that need to be done. You can also book your a la carte choices, And view your reservations. Overall well done!
Slow and not really intuitive, the schedule disappears as the day goes by so if you look for an activity after it started you won't find it. It's not easy to understand where activities are located at first, the "see in map" button is rarely shown and the map is the worst. Even if you have access to other resorts you can't see their schedule except for some shows/parties.
Great range of information, easy to navigate but would like to see advice on when you can book shows and restaurants.
Really disappointed with the app. My bookings have to be added with an email to customer services and even then my bookings never show up on the app even after the request. I can never check in online or complete hotel restaurant reservation without taking the time to email as my bookings are not there. As a loyal longstanding customer who is very disappointed with the brand changes to the loyalty scheme this app just reinforces my view that it simply doesn't work as it once did.
now useless since update. does not let you book services, just registers your details. took 5 days 15 times to register my booking and still cannot book all la carte or anything on site. developer. suggest you roll back to previous version as this is not good
I've updated my original scathing review. There were frustrating technical difficulties upon check in that made it impossible to book dinners quickly. It has since been resolved. Some suggested Improvements; 1. More filtering options in the map, like seeing A-La-Carte diners and walk ups separately. 2. When viewing my saved activities, it doesn't show the location. I have to go to the full schedule to view the activity location.
edit: everything's back to working after a rough 24 hours. temporary rating hopefully. app used to be good. 26 November 2025 update forced in the middle of stay. lost information, can't check back in. no more hotels in the hotel check in list. restart phone, no good. empty cache, no good. uninstall reinstall, no good. I don't know where to go for my dinner reservation.
Not user friendly. No matter how many times I called head office or spoke directly with local staff, no one could make my 2nd reservation show up on this app or it would pop up for a few minutes and dissappear again. That meant I could not book the restaurants. This app needs a redo.
Having the ability to plan, book and track your spa treatments, a-la-carte options and excursions in one location is brilliant, only thing it'd change is having the ability to pay rather than having to go to check out desk if you wanted to keep on top of your finances whilst enjoying your stay
The app didn't work multiple times. Guests services did not get back to me about the spa link not working to book a spa day.
There isn't an option to reserve restaurants on the app. Their customer service was not able to help me over the phone and kept directing me to the app. They were not willing to do the reservation over the phone either. I ended up taking an Uber to the resort a few days before my check-in to ensure I could get reservations for the restaurants i wanted.
Having the opportunity to book all my a la carte dinners, keep track of the activities and order snacks from the app while enjoying my vacation is awesome. The only thing I'd add is if we could choose our room also from the app.
Very and I mean very unreliable app. e.g. null search function, unresponsive clicks (no, it isn't my connection!), unable to find reservation within 10 days of check in. Even if and when you are able and complete the check in (having gone through many steps), you are STILL required to present your passport and stand in line to check in physically. so WHAT IS THE POINT?! there are also the data (passport etc) security and privacy issues. Given all these issues, a 1 star is more than it deserves.
The app is fantastic! I've been able to do all sorts during my stay. Two things thay would make it better: have the "back" button return to the previous screen, instead of the homescreen. Secondly, as an Akumal visitor, I would love to see the entertainment schedules of other hotels, like Coba and Tulum.

This app is temperamental and carries alot of out of date information and has poor load speeds, especially on Bahia Principe networks. For example do not expect the menus in the restaurants to be accurate. We made our meal choices based on dietary requirements, only to find that dishes that were perfect were not on new menus. Yet the new menus were not and are still not reflected on the app. Update: Scheduled room service via app, never arrived. App is so poor.
It's Brilliant that we could book into the hotel before we've even got there!! And book reservations at one of the many restaurants we can experience too! Plus, there's the daily itinerary to go through aswell. It feels like we will already know alot of the information before we actually arrive?! instead of looking for when we arrive. The chat option is great if you need to request anything before you get there! I've sorted a Birthday Cake out already for my husband's big birthday. I
Excellent stay. Hotel beautiful, high standard regularly maintained throughout the day. Staff, efficient,very friendly and kind- work really hard. Food- plenty of variety in buffet, service high although busy. Never felt as though there were 'too many people' anywhere which I found settling and good. Dined at Asian, Mexican and Italian resturaunts- you can pick 3 out of 4 for your stay. Thank you for a wonderful holiday x
Awful experience. The app was glitch ingredients and only showing 3 resturaunts with no availability. Emails are not responded to and im stressed to the max. what should be exciting for me to plan is now incredibly upsetting because I cant get any answers.
