Please make it easier to find the balance due for a credit card and when it needs to be paid by. I struggle every single month to find this. Overall the app is highly unintuitive. For example, I search for "when is my credit card payment due" and nothing useful is returned. This app is so bad I'm getting ready to move to another bank.
Excellent, except the ease of importing transactions into less well-known accounting apps like Gnucash. There either needs to be an easier automated way of accessing your transactions,... OR add some of the functions, categorization into personal account trees, to the app. Making it more like a basic personal finance app. Or offer developers an api for easier access .... we can always dream:)
The old app was better. This one is more difficult to navigate and really not that intuitive. the old bankwest app was my favourite of all banking apps Ive used. my main pain point with this App currently, is not being able to edit or save a new recipient with a nickname. there is no feild to add nickname on save of new recipient. so I have like 4 accounts with the same name and no way to tell them apart besides account numbers... and you cant edit a recipient - there is only a delete button.
Some things are good. Setting up new bank accounts is nice and easy. However, the layout is shockingly not user friendly. Needing to scroll across the screen to see all account balances, just offer a summarised view or reduce the size of the squares. why do they need to be so large. Another function that is missing, you cannot enter payers from the mobile app unless you are making payment. Seems like the function is available so why not enable it. A few minor updates and it would be good.
Recent changes made this app much nicer to use. Initially the new look was terrible but now it's better with a bit of colour and account view options. Transfers work well and are simple to do, account review is simple and clear. Would be nice to add more tools to see spending across accounts, total credit and debt values, and ingoing and outgoing value summaries and bar charts etc. It's simple till but effective for the general day to day banking. Would like more features added.
17/02/26 - Name fixed 🙄 16/02/26 - Mentioned irrelevant details and misspelled my name 👌 I get the notifications, and the email. 11/02/26 - Discovered a regression that scheduled payments in 'payment history' no longer shows if it failed when viewing its summary. You have to confirm it yourself by finding a missing payment. Submitted a complaint and received a phone call. There has been no follow up or reason to believe it will ever be fixed. It used to be easy to see which transaction failed.
This bank continues to block my Debit Card whenever I try to load money (and very small amounts at that) onto my Qantas Pay card. Their fraud squad is absolutely useless - Not even worth 1 star. They couldn't care less about the inconvenience to customers - only interested in covering their backsides.
23/1/26: app is still tricky to navigate. Suggest bankwest should just email statements instead of making users log in. 25/7/25 update: still near impossible to navigate the app, even harder to find credit card statements. Far too difficult to access credit card statements and balance owing. Considering this is the only way to get the statement for some, this is a really terrible feature that could result in misunderstanding and customers unintendedly paying significantly higher interest fees.
The new app update has no ability to turn off or customise the "recent activity" feature on the home page. Really annoying when shopping for christmas/birthday presents and it just pops up for my partner to see. No dark mode either and other basic customisation is limited. Otherwise, the recent update feels like it doesn't actually bring anything new or worthwhile. 2 stars only because customer service was quick to answer and friendly in-app.
As a new customer to Bankwest, I find the App is ok. Took a bit to navigate through but once I got the hang of it very easy. Only downside is that unlike my previous banking apps you are lacking in the biometrics i.e finger print or facial recognition. Would give a 5 star rating if the function was available. Other than that it offers everything else that Other banks offer in usability in an App. amending rating, just found the finger recognition. 5 out 5
Doesn't like the layout of the latest update... Great to be able to arrange accounts order but all the other design is harder on the eyes than the previous version. The search bar keeps flashing with phrases is distracting. Having new features added on but keeping the old layout would have been great. it'll be great if the app has notification for TD that will mature soon instead of using the mailing system. I didn't receive the mail for a TD.
Terrible. I can't find anything I need. I was using it for the credit card to track payments on time. Now I can't even find how much I owe this month. it gives you only total. For debit cards it may be fine, but for credit cards with cutoff times - it's seriously on the "wrong note" so to speak. Return the old version back. It was so easy to use
Nearly one year since the once easy to use app was updated to a bleak, difficult to navigate app. It is so wild to me that bankwest seem to have no interest in taking on board overwhelming negative feedback from customers. it really makes me question why I would stay with a bank which cares so little for their customer's experience. Literally changing the app back to what it used to be while they thought out the new app would have been better than leaving us with this mess.
love the bank. absolutely hate the new app. why so much empty space, scrolling, thin font and slow transition animations?? old app was perfectly fine. please revert back. EDIT: the worst "feature" ever of this app is that you cannot take a screenshot nor even share transaction record through the app. this is terribly inconvenient and I don't understand how it could possibly be contributing to security??
new layout is no good. too spread out and can't see everything i need at a glance in order to use the app quickly. and who decided it was a good idea to put the Statements section in Profile Settings?? it should be a quick click in accounts or payments like before...had to use the chat bot to find them! also the app has sucked for a long time with telling me what accounts I have internally transferred to and from. just says internal transfer. no other info.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. The app allows me to open it but when I click on anything balance, profile etc. it signs me out & I can't view anything. The previous app was perfect, no issues. Because of this glitch I can't view card details (a app only feature). I've complained to their customer service and been told: there's no reported outages! UPDATE: Yes I uninstalled, no fix. I have worked out the app's issue, it can't handle languages other than English (Spanish etc)! Do better!
update: uninstalled and closing my acct as now it's asking permissions to monitor other apps on my phone Not a lover of the "new" look. Really hard to navigate. need dark theme options, too much white spaces. Please bring the old UI back. I understand you spent money on the new UI but it's time to admit that it's a terrible update and do not force your customers to suffer. devs use version control for the extract reason: wrong way go back.
the transaction history shows times in AWST should be an option based on location to show other timezones, or be able to select it. Also the notifications should have option to show the merchant rather than just amount. Great app, but the virtual cards unlike the physical cards don't have ability to lock them, the wise app virtual cards have this feature. For security in general this would be a nice feature to have in addition to the existing features of deleting it or creating a new one.
Bankwest used to be one of the easiest to use apps. The re-design has shifted that from a 5 star app to a 1 star. The UI is un-intuitive, it's never clear what to click on to the information needed, there seemed to be multiple redundant flows in the app that lead to slightly different outcomes. I still spend 2-3 minutes each time trying to figure out how to find my latest statement.
Always been a fan of the Bankwest app, but have now closed most of my accounts. If there is no physical branches I am not interested. Trying to get change for a Laundromat was an absolutely nightmare.. Such a shame been with them for over 30 years.
