Push notifications are still a huge issue every few months. And are still awful. I sometimes get them, other times it takes hours to come through, several times not at all. Ive spoken to the most infuriating & unhelpful person on the helpline. Cache cleared,notifications toggle and app uninstalled/reinstalled.I use the notifications to keep track of my account and any potential fraud. Its not good enough at all. And no one seems able or willing to help.

I can't fault this app. It's easier to set up than Lloyds(which I gave up on), and I'm always notified via the app if and when money over a certain amount has come into or left my account. Sending or paying money out is a doddle. Moving money between my savings and isa is also a doddle. 21/03/25 update! As so many branches have been closed, the app is useful until you want a large amount of cash, which you could get at a branch, but NOT at a post office. App and card have limitations! BAH!

Easy to use to transfer money and pay bills where payees are set up.! So far seems it appears digitally secure. Four years on and it's still just as good, no fancy gimmicks, just does exactly what it should ...and same again in 2023 and 2024. App was updated in late 2024 / early 2025 and the differences took a bit of adjusting to but 3 months on I'm fully used to it and I seem to be able to do what I always did. No fuss, still easy to use.

Have used the Barclays app for many years. I was one of the first people to use mobile app banking amongst all of my friends and family. I helped them set theirs up etc. The ui is simple and effective. It's relatively simple to find what you want to do.The only bad thing about the app is that there is no spell check option. My S&G are terrible, so I'm constantly making mistakes. Apart from that, my accounts always seem to be low on funds, if Barclays could kindly fix that, that would be great 😂

Terrible app, probably one of the worst banking apps out there. If you need to get information from another app forget it. If you switch to something else when you come back the app has closed and you have to start again, and forget pasting any thing. After finding a pen and paper it decided that it still didn't want to accept the information.

Pretty easy to use with good amount of detail. Very efficient and hardly ever crashes. But I don't like the videos that appear when you get the app up - irritating and unnecessary in my view. Well, Barclays (and the app developer) have just earned themselves an extra star 🌟 for a very prompt response to my critical point about the videos. So now I have turned the videos off and awarded five stars Happy customer. 😊

Generally good. Any problems I have arise from me getting confused. Edit :- now finding this app easy to use. Just one thing I cannot make a payment later eg for a credit card due date. Payment must always be immediate (unless I am missing something). Since found that I can make a payment for a later date so happy with that.

Yet another business who thinks we enjoy being bombarded with messages. Enable push notifications for essentials such as unauthorised transactions and every time you log out you get an alert. Log in again to check it and it's something random, like a reminder of a feature you already know about. This happens EVERY TIME you log out. Try to contact them and no, all you get is yet another automated chat system that can't give you the information you need, like how to chat to a human Absolute joke.

Not smooth or intuitive. switching option buried in service section no option to hide/undide additional products. Always times out if you open the app tray so you can't copy and paste data like account numbers etc so you have to start the entire process over and write down codes or numbers...you don't know what codes or numbers it wants until you are opening an account or doing a security check so you have to restart the process every time. Also no dark mode or customisation.

seems OK so far. pretty easy to understand & navigate the app. nicely layed out aswell. easy to full switch! only issue I would have is being hounded to rate the app so quickly🤣 like, I want to rate it, but I want time to become familiar with it first.. skipping just promts another rating msge the next day😬 so that is a little annoying for me; but I guess u could say I'm just 'nit-picking' there aswell😉

Been using the app for years and been a Barclays customer for over 2 decades. It does all the basics absolutely fine. But so many other banks have things like savings pots and other budgeting tools integrated I'm contemplating moving banks for the first time. Just pots and custom budget categories would make it good enough for me to stay.

Truly an awful app experience. No multi tasking - you want to copy something from another app? Enjoy logging in again. You want to biometric login? Enjoy entering a pin code every 5 times. You want to use their chat? Enjoy not being able to open the keyboard and scroll through the messages at the same time - if you're sent a message too long, you cant actually see it because the keyboard covers the message and you can't scroll. Prefer Halifax app experience. Much prefer Monzo app experience.

it is 5 years since my last (3 star) review and in that time the app has proved invaluable and largely faultless save for a couple of catastrophic periods for Barclays' banking as a whole. Better off with it than without it. One irritation about documents etc....Notifications only appear AFTER you've logged out thus necessitating logging in yet again to access them. Why are they not visible before or during a logged in session?

Edited: after uninstalling & reinstalling twice, it finally worked, still not great as you need to re-register each time, which wastes time. Cannot make a payment, gets to the end where I need to authorise payment in my Halifax banking app, as soon as I open it the barclays app completely closes, making it physically impossible to pay off my balance, and now it just gives me error 0002 when I click make a payment

So slow. When I click on one of my accounts it just spins. If I press back it kicks me out. I love the bank but the issue with the app may make me bank elsewhere 😩 Edit: I did that and it got better but back to being slow to the point that it's unable to use. I'm clicking on my rainy day saver and it just spins. When I press back it kicks me out. Like I say, time to go elsewhere I think. Edit: I've tried what you have suggested and it still crashes!

I didn't realise how much I used this app until it stopped working. "Unfortunately, Barclays has stopped"! Edit. App still works. Unfortunately its still not very good. Star rating increased because it's a little bit better than broken. Edit: Average app, does the basics, would love sorting and filtering of payments. Edit: No longer having problems. The scam protection is annoying and makes transferring money feel like an inquisition. I should be able to opt out.

Excellent App, very intuitive, reliable and secure. Update! This app used to be so reliable. Now it has all kinds of bugs. Really frustrating Barclays, get it sorted. Update: App back to working as it should. Update: Still working well - very little downtime and a strong sense of security when using it. I noticed the cheque scanning has been improved and now works very well. Update: Still working weĺl - I have just added a Barclaycard link to the App and it works well.

Easy to use security seems ok not had any problems, everything is easy to do it's a lot easier to check account and transfer money or pay a bill it's so much easier than going to the bank. plus you know if moneys been taken out because it texts you, if you want to freeze account you can from app

The recent transactions on my mortgage account shows payments made and installments due. This makes it difficult to understand changes to the balance because I can't see how much interest is being charged per month. It should show the balance increasing due to interest and the balance decreasing due to payments made. Installments due is not so useful and is confusing.

So easy and quick to use...makes my life easier! I get paid weekly and within a minute I have transferred all the money into different accounts for bills, savings and tax. Great app for paying people aswell as letting you know when payments have gone in or out instantly. Probably my most used app! 👍
