Terrible!! I could not get a scooter to work. I tried two. The first one would not go, and the second one kept screaming loud noises at me. I was charged $10!! No refund. I was only using it for 13 minutes trying to get it to work and I didn't move more than 3 metres. Shocking service. Both were fully charged too, I checked. I will never be using again.
Really sketchy app. I had a day pass with 30 minutes left, but they still charged me 8.5 MYR for a 10-minute ride. Their pricing and pricing model aren’t clearly displayed anywhere, so you only figure it out by using the service. Most of the scooters are in bad condition. The first scooter I unlocked didn’t even work, but I was still charged 2.5 MYR for the unlock fee. The other scooters I tried had issues too, like faulty brakes or broken screens. Overall, poor maintenance and not worth it.
This app put me on a weekly subscription without my knowledge, and by the time I noticed it was outside a '3 month window' of refunds there is nothing they can do. I never even used a scooter and have been charged $100's. An absolute disgrace, avoid at all costs

Been using this app fine the last 2 months. Suddenly keep failing in the payment method. Tried multiple times and it just shift from successful to unsuccessful. Its infuriating. I had to walk yesterday due to this inconvenience and now its still not working so Im not gonna use it until its resolved. UPDATE: I TRIED A DIFFERENT CARD AND IT WORKED FOR AWHILE THEN MIDWAY PAYMENT FAILED. SO IS IT STILL MY PROBLEM? NO! FIX YOUR APPPPPPP!!!!!!!
Don't waste your time and money riding these in Adelaide. With all the safe zones and no go zones it's dangerous in the road when power is cut unexpectedly, slow and expensive. Get an uber instead.
The bikes are mostly low on maintenance. Some don't work at all. Connection issues are ALWAYS a thing. Tried topping up my Beam credits at some point THREE times because it kept failing, yet STILL charged me for everything despite only getting ⅓. Customer service told me they couldn't refund my loss, not by getting my money back or giving me the credits they owed me. Utterly trash system. Basically robbed me.
Beam bikes are rarely usable. I wasted money on a pass and used one scooter once, must have got lucky. The next day I tried 20 scooters, all needed maintenance. what's the point of Beam? uninstalled, won't use again.
I want to cancel my weekly subscription but I'm not currently in a city that has Beam scooters. So because of that the app is un-useable, even just to cancel my subscription.
Mostly bikes are not good condition, low maintenance, and very unsatisfying customer service. Supposed to be 0.5 out of 100
super bad service! limits you even though you are next to no go zones, doesn't allow you to park even though you are outside of no park zones... very bad gps experience
Bought 1-week subscription while visiting Albuquerque. They enrolled me in auto-renewal which I noticed only after they charged me extra 3 times. It is impossible to cancel a subscription if you are not in the city with Beam service, in which case all almost all functionality of the app (including managing subscriptions) is disabled.
I didn't find this app to helpful at all! I paid 8 pounds and when arrived at the pick up point all of the rubber had been peeled off the rims of the scooters and they were spray painted and written on with a black sharpie, "God save the queen"! Like something right out of Clockwork Orange. My 8 pounds was nonrefundable! Not only THAT...7 months later I received a bill from Beam delivered by postmaster for 950 pounds for damages as if I was responsible. Cory Walker(Duke of Wellington)
Was a good app. Worked as intended. For some reason you can't park in the operational area. However the designated parking area is outside the operational area. So if you want to start a ride you have to drag an unresponsive beeping scooter 20 metres to the operational area.
Maybe in other cities it's better, but if you're in Cairns... don't use Beam. I paid $17 searching for a poorly indicated parking spot (the alternative would have been $18 for parking outside the designated parking). On top of all the restricted zones...better take an Uber, for less than a third of the cost (in my case, we were with two). App deleted.
Like most of these fast convenient services, the support level is sorely lacking. If you have any issue at all, need a refund, or something's broken, there's simply no easy way to get help from the company. The report an issue features have all been replaced with chatbot FAQ responses, there's no phone number to call, no SMS service. So sure, it's a great service when it works but that's not very often.
The location accuracy is shockingly bad. Almost every time I try and find a scooter it is not where it shows it is on the map. A recent update also got rid of the "look at last photo" feature, so now you can't even look at the parking photo of a scooter to try and work out where it is. Now you just have to repeatedly ring the scooter to try and find it, and if it isn't where it says on the map and you hit the "report missing" button it does literally nothing. Use flamingo instead. Way better app

What a terrible app, user unfriendly and lacking clarity on information. I was ripped off and charged $140.00 for a 1/2 ride because of the payment system. My underaged kids don't own a mobile phone so they couldn't get the app and therefore a daypass, so they were charged by the minute. This information is not provided in advance. After 5 emails requesting a refund with no response, I finally talked to someone over the phone who said they couldn't do anything for me. Do not recommend!
useless vehicles, I even work properly. 2 of the scooter doesn't even move although I've pushed it so fast I'm almost running. waste of my money. when I tried to top up it keeps rejecting my card. doesn't even have multiple choices of payment method.
Works well, it's honestly pretty fun scootin around town to go to the local convenience store. My only gripe is that location/GPS tracking isn't always working right, meaning you may be in a parking spot, but the app thinks you're like 5 meters away from it. This is also evident by the fact that some of the scooters on the map appear *inside* buildings.

Used to be a great app, but now it's the last mode of transport I would use ever since they implemented the "slow zone" and "no park zone". There are too many slow zones that only allow you to go a maximum of 5km/h. That's the same speed as walking. I almost got into road accidents trying to pass from one road to another because I had to walk slowly (can't even run) while dragging the scooter with me. Secondly, you can only park in designated areas but the problem is that there aren't many.
