Bitmoji

Used to love this app... until they took away the ability to create graphics with friends. Without the ability to add my phone number, my boyfriend and I can't be friends, and we can't create graphics of both of our emoji together. Friends of ours do this and invited us to do the same, but we don't have the ability. It's just disappointing. Plus, honestly, the bitmojis used to be better and looked more like us. Since they were updated years ago, they don't look as good.

Update: HATE the new design! They're creepy!!! You would think with the update they would have brought in more diversity, but it's just awkward... especially the eyes and mouth. The mouth on the updated version is frightening. Still no options for Asian or Islanders. It looks like a mishmash of Bitstrips and Bitmoji. Need more face shapes and body types and more realistic skin tones. On the positive, selection of poses and emotions are awesome! Something for everything and wacky and adorable!

I originally wrote that this was a great tool. so versatile. Unfortunately, after the update to the new luck I really don't care for the app or use it much anymore. The images used to look a lot like us, now they are creapy looking and don't resemble is at all. I've all but stopped using it. Once in a while I'll get the urge to use it, especially when for a while the previews looked like the old look, but now every time I send a message I'm sad as is my partner. we really miss the old look.

The new 3D avatars are awful and look like decades old, cheap CGI that you can't customize to look like yourself now, and there are no longer other options to choose from. No thanks. Too bad, it was a fun way to connect with family. Why are the 2D cartoons the only thumbnails for this app in the store when they aren't an option to use anymore??

Used to be a lot of fun with the 2D characters and friend option. Now it's just creepy and odd with the forced 3D update. Uninstalled shortly after the switch, just couldn't stand to look at it anymore. Hoping the devs will allow at least for the option that minimum choose 2D or 3D in the future, but it doesn't look like they're listening to the consumers on this... then again it IS a free app... Will use again if 2D comes back.

For seven or eight years, my family and I have used this as our go-to app for expressing ourselves in a cute, fun way. Since the update and bizarre avatar change, not one of us looks like we used to; and, despite our best efforts, we can't tweak them enough to even slightly resemble ourselves. So disappointing. If I don't look like myself, there's no point in using the app. Uninstall.

This used to be one of my favorite apps. I'm so sad they took the 2D version away. The two-dimensional characters felt like little comics of me and my family and friends. The 3D version just doesn't have the same charm, because it doesn't feel like comics anymore. If they could add an option to slide 3D on and off, that would be fine by me. They could call it "Bitmoji classic" and "Bitmoji 3D" or something like that. There are so many 3D avatars out there. The 2D had unique charm, like a comic!

The latest update is horrible. The "3D" look is blurry, creepy, and honestly just bad. It's like they were trying to make the pictures look realistic, but the backgrounds are still cartoony so it just looks awkward. I wish they just stuck with the original cartoon format or at the very least gave users the option to opt out of the "upgrade". Classic case of fixing something that wasn't broken and making it worse.

the classic version had better choices of colors to fit my appearance. there's not many options for hair styles with color like the classic styles had. I tried to endure this new version, but I can no longer find myself, my character. it was a great app, but now it's ruined by the updates. I had no choice in this awful up grade. I will be deleting this app. Very unsatisfied.

The update is really creepy looking; I had 5 stars in 2022 but have to drop it to 1. I can't speak for others but the appeal of a cartoon version of myself was to silly to pass up; my cartoon me was fun and cute and looked like me. The new version is creepy, not fun to look at and is washed out version of cartoon me, it was awesome! The new version is too "realistic" and doesn't capture the fun it used to have. Ill hold on for a little while longer for a hopeful change before I delete.

Like many others here, I used bitmoji for years and loved it. When I was a teacher, I used it for presentations to add some light-hearted fun and color. It was great to send to friends too! As of the latest update, my bitmoji is, frankly, ugly. I really tried to customize it the best I could, but some of the facial expressions for the stickers were scary and jarring. Not cute at all. I'm still not fully over Facebook changing their style. Et tu, Snapchat? I had to uninstall. What a shame.

Honestly, the 3D update is just disappointing. It feels outdated, especially with the still cartoon/2D backgrounds, and somehow it doesn't look like me anymore. it used to be fun and adorable sending them to friends, and now I click in the app and it just makes me sad. I wish we could have the option to revert back. Let people decide which version they want to use.

I totally loved this app until they took away the 2D imaging! 😔 While they say they went to 3D for users to have a more realistic experience, the whole point of having a Bitmoji was to have an ANIMATED version of you, not something that looks blurry & robotic. I wish they'd at least give users the option of choosing between 2D & 3D, then everyone would be happy. If no changes are made, will probably delete b/c I won't use this version.

I've loved this app for years and frequently use my bitmoji in all of my chats. However, I am very unhappy with the sudden switch from the classic 2D stylistic images to a more realistic 3D image that honestly creeps me out a bit (uncanny valley maybe?). I wish they would have provided warning about the switch and I wish there was an option to stick with the original, familiar style or switch to the new one. I may eventually get used to the new style, but I don't think I'll enjoy/use it as much

STOP CHANGING THE APPEARANCE OF THE AVATARS!! The original was awesome, and it's just gotten progressively worse. The new look is just terrible. But the most annoying thing is when you go to send a Bitmoji and it looks nothing like you anymore! I opened it after the most recent 3D update and I looked like a completely different person, so I either had to send a picture that wasn't accurate at all, or spend the time adjusting the avatar AGAIN! Pick a style and stay with it 🤬

The art style changed to a 3-D and it does NOT look good. Everything is very pixeley, and looks weird. I dont know if it's using AI now, but it definitely has an AI-looking vibe, how things are kind of "off", but you can't tell what. I definitely prefer the art style where it had black outlined and looked more "drawn". The integration into my messages and stuff still works fine, and I like the options it comes up with, I just HATE the new art style now.

Poor design decisions, folks! I'm yet another user so, so disappointed with the loss of the 2D avatars. I don't use the app now because of the awkward and unimpressively designed 3D version. Bring back the 2D version, please. At least allow users to choose. (And I think you'll find many people will go with the better looking 2D avatars. Just saying it's worth trying.)

Fastest delete ever. SO UGLY. What on Earth were they thinking in changing the art?! The 2D avatars were crisp and cute, they were JUST FINE. This new 3D change made me delete as soon as I saw what had happened. The 3D looks NOTHING like me, and I spent hours getting my little me sticker to look just right before. Everything is blurry, the hair looks like a kid did it, the colors are all wrong, & they're creepy! Updates are supposed to make things better, I thought. Oh well. I'm out.

I used to love, love this app. I'd spend like an hour just looking thru all the pics. But now they made it 3D... it's not cute anymore. It's harder, too, to see it clearly without the black outline. it just completely blends in with whatever background it's in, if that makes sense. For someone who has bad 👀, it's not easy. Anyway, that is my ONLY complaint. I had this really weird phone a few years ago and it broke and would only let me send pictures Bitmoji helped a lot when I couldn't call😁

I used to love this app. The cartoon avatars had a lot of character and some of the stickers were hilarious. but I was forced into the 3d downgrade and they look terrible. They're honestly embarrassing looking now and the stickers lack the contrast that the cartoon outlines gave the contents of the stickers before, so many of them also don't "read" as easily as the old ones. I won't be using these and if I can find a different app with avatars more like the old ones I will be switching.
