The game is good, but it's not very "friendly" for returning players. I think there should be a recap of story events (like in 'The Witcher III: Wild Hunt') or something else like that, so I don't have to feel so lost. Also, I think the UI and menus are a bit too complex and may need compression or a redesign, because I was very lost for the first few days after reinstalling. (It took maybe 6 hours of playtime to relearn everything) Otherwise, great graphics & performance; good for chill gaming.
As soon as you log in for the first time you are bombarded with waaaaay too much information, notifications, and just....everything. Like so many other mobiles based on MMOs this one throws everything at you all at once and expects you to have the time or patience to decipher it all. I want to play a game, not do a week of research just to know how to play. Stagger stuff out ffs! People tend to lose interest when their first introduction to the game is numerous walls of text with no preamble.
Was great until yall took away our ability to change our characters' appearances as many times as we pleased. I think we should be able to change their appearance and name for free and as many times as we want, or at least be given the option to spend 200 black pearls again if you want us to earn it. If this is done, I'll change my review and start playing again. But until the experience will be lackluster and limiting.
Without a doubt, this is the best RPG for Mobile that I've ever played. I played it for a long time years ago, and recently downloaded it again. It has everything a great RPG should have; a wide variety of class and character choices with customization, auto quest travel so you don't have to search for what you need to do, excellent graphics with adjustable level, a multitude and variety of side quests so it's not just a hack 'n' slash, and an immersive factor to boot. A perfect game (and free).
Love this game. Leveling is slow going after 60, but the grind is worth it to me. Been trying characters I find interesting to play with and not having to delete them to try a new one is wonderful. Customization is unbelievable. I end up stuck wanting something unique. Game is a huge grinding fest, and leveling up items and gear and weapons is basically gambling once you start getting into the highest tier stuff. You're gonna need a lot of patience, time, and money to really be competitive.
So far great, some aspects can be fixed, but for the most part not bad for a mobile mmo at all. Also the micro transactions aren't near as bad and predatory as I thought it would be. So far going through the game and getting stuff I need without paying a single real life dollar. If they keep it up I might just give them some money. Good game.
I migrated from Archeage when Black Desert first dropped on PC. It had its allure, but it just didn't do it for me in the long run. Just felt kind of, off? Mobile though... something about it just works for me . Launch the game on your phone easily enough Download is like 7GB, thats nothing. Load in times are nominal. I highly recommend just on the in-game fishing alone. Only a small piece of what this title has to offer. Honestly, I might even spend some money on it. Give it a shot.
My favorite mobile game for 2020? I know it's early for that, but I'm already very impressed with this game. In my opinion it's one of the best RPGs on mobile, & I especially appreciate that it's not just one big cash grab. Most "free" games have an obnoxious energy system where you can only play 10 minutes every several hours, or you need to rely on in-game purchases to keep you moving. Beautiful graphics, great voice actors, love the open world. Little buggy, but they're doing regular updates.
So this game is actually pretty fun. It seems kind of complicated at first with all the different aspects of the game but once you get a hang of it, it's so fun. The combat system is easy, the pvp is really fun, and the gathering and crafting system is easy. I like that you can upgrade your gear with crystals and it kind of makes things feel customizable. Also the character creation is better than some PC/gaming system MMO's. Try it you will love it!
Too much grind and a repetitive auto combat simulator that isn't even fun to watch. Coming from the pc version of BDO, it's just as boring and uninspired in it's game play, but it's still miles better and much more optimized. Not for me, but if you're into pretty looking things then you might wanna give this a try. But don't expect to progress much if you don't have A LOT of disposable income for RNG (like most mobiles, especially korean). Definitely better than a lot of the other auto-c sims.
So far so good. Like the mechanics despite being pretty auto. Good pets system. I like running my own camp. To make it better: more and cheaper clothing options for character customization. Way too expensive, not enough variety. The game looks great, but a character in the same dark armor for 40 levels is boring.
Very fun. Can get a little repetitive, but still a great time killer. My only gripe, and the reason for 4 not 5 stars, is the prices of in game items is on the pricey side. It's easy to play for free and get decent gear. Nothing too crazy is locked behind a paywall. My other concern is PvP matchmaking. In arena battles you will either get paired with someone who will kill you in a couple hits, or someone you can kill in a couple hits. Also, the 3v3 arena matchmaking is even worse.
Visually stunning, fun gameplay, can play for hours and way too much to know about all the different things you can do. Leveling up isn't hard to do, it just takes time and figuring out all the different ways you can achieve it. My only complaint is that the in game purchases are expensive! I've only spent $40 in this game over four months of play and it's obvious what players have spent when you fight against them. Overall fun game and would recommend this.
Fantastic game, I've played on PC and console, by far though the mobile version is the best. Silly I know, but it's true. Not saying the other versions aren't great either. Just that to me this is the one. The p2p is not bad, the f2p is amazing though. Haven't spent a dime. The only time you gotta spend money for real is if you want more character slots. You get 3 free.
very impressed with the graphics, the play style, and the combat styles of the game. Haven't gotten far enough to enjoy or get into the story yet. Don't know how to feel about the game TBH because it keeps crashing on me and closing the game out. My phone meets the requirements, has all its updates, the game has downloaded all its data, and it still crashes and closes the game out me when I get into the game. It let me create a character, catch a fish, and earn a achievement then the game crash.
It's a great game, only issue is it keeps crashing. I have plenty of space on my phone, plenty of RAM and yet it just keeps crashing. UPD: ...still crashing, even worse now after this update. Lags so much I can't even play for a second, i log in, pick my character, load into the game and a second later it lags and crashes. Wrote a review over a year ago about it, no response, no advice on how to get it to actually run and stay running.
An edit to my review; This is still one of the best mobile games I have played. There are a lot of differences between mobile and the PC and console versions, but it is still the BDO world. But, lacking in the choice of classes. Would like to see the Tamer class, Sorceress class, Dark Knight class and a few others. Ultimately all of them. Give players the variety of play style like there is on the console versions and PC version. But keep up the amazing work Pearl Abyss. Take my money!!!
It would be easy to rate this game 3 stars, but I'll give it 4 because I will continue to play it, and I want to support the game. There are few full mobile MMORPG with crafting and such. I have 2 big problems with BDM. The lesser is that it crashes on my Chromebook. The greater is that the entire economy of the game penalizes new players. Everything in the market is overpriced, and there is no incentive to sell to new players or for new players to sell on the market.
Been playing this game maybe a few months after this game launch on Android and IOS were I think there were only 4 classes to choose. Not very good at the PC version but am better in the moble version. But I have not any problems with the game. I don't mind spending a few bucks here and there. I only wish the prices to get pearls was a bit cheaper. I am not sure but I do believe they are releasing Guardian in December. Can't wait for that, overall decent game.
This is an incredible MMO. Not much else to say. The devs are responsive, the game is nowhere near pay to win or grindy, and it's honestly fun to play. The only complaint I have is there should be more classes and some subclasses. Although the customization is incredibly detailed. If you add a summoner class/subclass into this game, I will play this forever.
