Black Screen: video screen off

Feature wise, the app is great. It does exactly what I need it to do. But the ads displayed at start up are annoying - especially the full screen ads. And the paid version for removing ads is way too expensive. Even with the current half price sale, the price is more than I'd be willing to pay for such a relatively simple app. Still, I suppose it is better than the apps that now want to change monthly fees forever. Personally, I think $3.99 to $4.99 would be the most I'd be willing to pay.

Better than most! But the bright clock is annoying. Often apps have settings where you can change the clock's 'color and brightness.' Would be better instead of a white clock you can change the settings for a very dark color to simulate a complete black screen. A near black-blue a near black!-brown color instead of a white clock. This would give a better impression of a complete blaxk screen. People aren't interested in time!

The problem with it not working has gotten worse since my original review, not better! When it works, it's very handy... but the trigger that turns the screen black tends to disappear a lot, forcing me to go to the app to get it back. It would be better if that circle trigger was always available so I could black my screen quickly and with one hand. It's inconvenient to have to go to the app so often.

Useful app to save battery with YouTube or other sites that don't allow you to lock your phone during use. I listen to podcasts (EFAP) on YouTube, and while working or driving, I can listen without being distracted by the screen by using this app. My only concern is screen burn, with the Always On function showing a clock, static in it's position. Meh.

I wish the screen was totally black with no slight glow what so ever, just as if I had pushed the side sleep button. There is a slight glow that one can detect in the dark; but then that might not be technically possible. But if there is a way or mode, that would allow that, even if the device could not be re-awakened using the touch screen, but only be reawakened by side button push; that would be wonderful. When youtube is casting to a TV, the screen can be total off using side button.

I rarely rate anything at five, because I like to give life as a whole room for improvement. This is a relatively simple app, but its nice to shut the lights down at night, and focus only on sound. The adds are somewhat annoying, and it seems theres lots of apps looking for premium money for their app. I suppose that will be the norm until the "wishing well" drys up.

This app not only blacks out your display in the way you wish but it also prevents touches in your pocket since there's only one unlock button. This is perfect for those people who want to let their apps run (and quickly access them in need) while reducing battery usage from the screen. Thanks for programming this app. I was more than happy to buy the pro version. It's also very kind of you to not run ads in the beginning (don't know when they would be shown later).

I like this app very very much! I've an idea(very awasome) for you : Add animations when we enable black screening or disable back screen. some are free and some will be paid or with membership. like : blink(free), camera zoom(paid), venom(from spider man) spreading(with membership), Ninja kunai - A a kunai with paper bomb comes and blasts the screen becomes black, etc.

I have been enjoying using this app so much that I ended up buying it and have no regrets so far! Very useful application during the long Youtube sessions, listening to documentaries when I don't need the image but just the sound. However, 2 (minor) issues I'm kindly asking the developer to address: 1)try as I might, but still haven't been able to make it show battery percentage; 2) how can I choose pure black instead of dark grey? Thank you for this app!

It's been life changing honestly and "ads" are near completely unintrusive. A few things of note are sometimes my screen sometimes gets pressed in my pocket and sometimes the app times out and I have to re open it.

Do what exactly what it should do! it's perfect. only can recommend this app. whenever you want to run something in the foreground but want a black screen ( to save batterie, for example), this is your app!

They responded to my bad review. Saying they were going to investigate the issues. Believe it or not... They fixed the issue. So thanks and that definitely warrants a 5 stars because the app works and they care about customer issues!

this app helped Mee most when I leasten songs and keep my phone in pocket that time my phone keeps on clicking anything I use yt to listen songs not Spotify and all bcz I have premium of yt

New update is not performing well, tapping on the screen for multiple times to unlock doesn't work after 4-5 hours and I'm able to unlock it without password and biometric password by going to sound and vibration settings or mobile settings from notification centre and then switching to black screen app and in that split second I'm able to stop black screen from working. There should be an option to block notification centre to work and use it, please work on it.

4 stars because the lock disappears when Screen is off for sometime all other are amazing btw This is having a paid subscription too

Very handy. I am so glad I found this! Now I can play videos, have a navigation app running and do whatever I want without draining the battery for the screen! I recommend. Improvement wishes: I wish there was a one-tap widget to launch the black screen (and the floating button), and that it was resizeable too. Then again, I haven't purchased the premium version, maybe it has that 🤷‍♀️ But not getting even the free trial, because it's not obvious what it has - I wish that was clear.

Second time I've pulled my phone out of my pocket to find my credit card app or bank app at a login screen!!! I was on YouTube both times when I sent the screen dark using this app!!! Its not any other apps getting opened. Just the ones involved with money kept being found opened sitting at my login screens when I would turn off the "black screen" function after a good 15-30min of it being on (last I left it was on YouTube, now magically on a money involved app both times)

Good. I don't know if it really saves battery, however I like to "watch" videos at night to sleep and turning off the screen is a plus as I can sleep in the dark. It could be interesting to add an option to disable the "bubble / button" at the bottom of our screen. A bit like Messenger bubbles. Because for now we have to go to the app, open it and turn off the functionality.

This app has far exceeded my expectations. Initially I put it on my phone but I like it well enough that I put it on all of my devices, including two Android TV boxes, Chromebook, and two tablets. The only problem I have encountered with it is that for whatever reason, the button will disappear, and I have to restart the app to get it back. I will definitely be looking into buying the pro version as money allows.
