Uninstalled the app and Returned the product faster than the time it took to install the app. I ordered a three socket outdoor plug for Christmas lights. The booklet that came with the product told me to choose a product from the list that didn't even exist. The app refused to connect and that's as far as I made it. I've dealt with numerous smart products before and a multitude of apps this one is by far the worst. save yourself the time and headache and get something different.
Bought a 4-pack of Wifi outlets (08/23) and they all connected just fine. Never had an issue with the app or the outlets. After about a year, all of a sudden, none of the devices showed in the app, but one was still controlling a light. Nothing I do will make them reconnect. After I removed the last one from its outlet, it will not reconnect. Support from their help line is a joke. Bought Kasa plugs. So far, so good.
I bought smart plugs and got most of the way through setup, and as soon as the device was connecting to the Internet the app crashed. Since then I haven't even been able to open the app because it immediately crashes. Has happened dozens of times now. Absolute garbage products, app, and functionality. So not recommend whatsoever. Save yourself time and money and don't buy their stuff
I bought a four pack of bn-link 5ghz wifi devices. App constantly asks me to use 2.4ghz and fails to find my device. I somehow got it to register one of the four, and that's working ok. Outside of it just not pairing with devices (and I've tried permissions, reading manuals, etc, their app is just a POS), the UI is very unforgiving. It's not clear when setting up a schedule whether things will be on or off at any given time since you just pick a time to set a state. Very unhappy with it.
I bought two 4-packs of smart plugs to control all my Christmas stuff. I was able to get 4 of them paired and under control. 2 from each box just picked at random. They paired quickly and easily. None of the other devices will pair. The pairing process runs, and it's obvious the app is communicating with the plug, but in the end it never adds it to the app. I've tried all 3 of my access points, and tried all of the possible pairing methods for each. Nothing works.
When it works, it's great. When it doesn't, it's a real pain. Major problems with adding new devices. Plugs: can't do more than one at a time, usually only pair one every couple days if connects at all. Some disconnect completely that worked before & won't pair. Tried both Easy & AP methods, following all instructions & troubleshooting connecting new device. Light switches: won't pair at all. Grouping devices convoluted. Sometimes can't add new device to existing group, must delete grp & redo.
Won't connect. Somewhat inscrutable UI, plus everything in the app and manual has been obviously and poorly translated, which doesn't help. The "smart" plugs I bought only work with 2.4 ghz Wi-Fi, and require me to switch my phone to the 2.4 instead of 5.0, which I plainly don't want to do just to control a fish tank light. The plug also buzzes weirdly, which gives me pause regarding its durability. I don't need electricity arcing inside my devices. TLDR: Returning plugs, deleting the app.
App crashes all the time unless you block location access. The only way I was able to add devices was doing it manually by picking the device and then manually adding my Wi-Fi ssid and password. When it prompts that it needs location to scan don't allow it and just add them manually. This seems to stop the app from crashing and let's you add devices to a router that supports dual bands 2.4 and 5 without it getting upset.
Usually works, but temperature based controls need a lot of improvement. January temperatures here have been dipping well into freezing, but sometimes the app says it's over 40 or even 50 degrees here. I use this app's settings to program it to turn on a smart outlet outside when temps get below 35, to turn christmas lights on outside that are around my young citrus trees, which are frost sensitive. I definitely need their temperature to be more accurate, or I could lose a bunch of plants!
At first the app just kept locking up. Eventually I got it to run by forcing my router to only offer 2.4g instead of both 2.4 and 5.2. After that I was able to get it to work. A thermostat should be fairly easy to understand, but this took me quite a while to figure out how to set it to work. After all that, it does seem to be working fine. Amendment :The app kept blowing out and wouldn't work. I finally uninstalled it and figured out I could control the device with the Smart life app.
Horribly disappointing!! Zero stars! Bought four Bluetooth plugs and installed this app about a year ago. Connected two plugs easily by Bluetooth. Programmed them and was very happy. Recently tried to connect the remaining two plugs and they are not discoverable. Support by chat, email, and phone all had me try the same steps. Phone support even had me download other bn link apps and still no luck! So disappointing. Will have to buy new plugs from a different seller and hope something works!!
Works well if I remember to turn on lights before I leave house so I can turn them on & off. Also has timers to set. Every once in a while, can't turn on light manually so I think device is either faulty or hacked. Changed password just in case.
These are perfect for turning the lights & tank heaters on and off for my reptile tanks. Works great for grow lamps over the winter to when I gotta keep my plants alive and away from the bitter cold till It warms back up to move all the plants back outside lol.
Worked ok for a few months. Now nothing, won't connect and the app is rather useless for helping connect them. Do not recommend.
found a bn-link wifi power strip at the thrift store for $3. I see why. that being said, it had an esp8265 in it, and is now no longer bn-link.
same issues here, they all worked great then dropped off the map and will not reconnect... absolutely ridiculous... I wish I could give zero stars
BNlink quietly removed power monitoring feature from hardware. I bought a few smart plugs a while ago that monitored power consumption and record it. I bought a few more recently (from the same sales link) and ones being sold now do not have that feature. The model number and sales link are the same, but if you look very closely the end of the model number went from tj to just t. They don't mention this anywhere.
I love these plugs so much. I wish they were a bit smaller in size since I have a few plugs that are very close to a corner of a wall so they don't fit, but I have worked around that. My only "complaint" is that I wish there was a widget I could add to my phone screen to turn my plug on and off instead of having to open to app.
Have a house full of the smart plugs, they used to work fine , all of a sudden none of them work anymore and will not connect to wifi. We have had them near a year. With no issues until now. And our wifi has not changed. Still junk!! Don't waste your money or time on this GARBAGE!!!
Here's the deal, I WANT to like this app, I WANT to continue to support this company. Wireless controlling is no doubt the future. How ever, the connecting process was beyond tedious. I felt like it took me a half hour of just doing the same setup process over and over. And then finally it just decided to magically work, Needs addressed. Also, THE ADS. My god, we already support the company by BUYING the product, the notification ads are so irritating. It makes me want to return the product.
