Honestly this works great. I don’t get why it has so many bad reviews. It actually stopped all those annoying apps that kept running and starting on their own in the background. My phone feels way better now.
This app is kinda tricky in terms of all these rock paintings (hearts, clouds and other symbols), but it works like a charm if set up well. I've brevented a bunch of apps who used to relaunch themselves in the bg all the time, and it seems like my device started running smoother. It was usually 2-3 of 8 gb of RAM available, and now it's 4-4.7 which is great. UPD: Been testing for a week. It's awesome. My phone flies like a rocket and no longer overheats. This app is A MUST!
Brevent is an outstanding Android app for controlling background processes and improving overall device performance. After using it,I noticed better battery life, reduced heating, and smoother performance. It effectively prevents unnecessary apps from running in the background without affecting important notifications. The interface is clean, lightweight, and free from ads. Although the initial setup may feel a bit technical, once configured it works flawlessly. Brevent is a must-have app for us
takes a long time loading or should i say it takes forever to load i have to disable and enable back wireless debugging or sometimes it just doesn't want to work. please fix it so i can change my review
I really like this app but why it takes too long to load plss fix if u can🥲 my phone is midrange
root mode stuck at "Starting Brevent server, just a moment" fix it, this happen on my rooted phone using kernelsu next.
works very excellent in MIUI 14.6.0 to stopping the bottleneck of Redmi Note 10 (SD678). thanks developer
Does this app really work or does it just show the hibernation processes currently running on the phone. Clearly indeed such apps no longer work since Android 12 without root access. On that note I'll freeze this app to see if there is any significant battery drain as claimed by the other user. If so expect a better edit review.
when I tried to enter the code I could not see it. I enabled wireless debugging and the app prompted me to input the 6 digit code but I never got it. pointless app.
The best app ever, I don't know why it has a low rating, maybe considering that it lacks support in some browsers like firefox and zen. It is just a small issue though, the app was a little tricky to set up if you don't understand adb and usb debugging, but hey it works pretty well in my device with no root. Overall, this app greatly impacted the way my phone performs in terms of reduced latency:) But I would be even happier if it supports Firefox based browsers and be willing to for it.
Solid app, reliable cmd. Can't believe this is free with no ads. Whatever those bad reviews mean
not working even tho I have the file and typed the correct command still not working
My phone is rooted, but it still insists on connecting via ADB or wireless debugging. This app isn't worth it. I'd rather use Hail if I want to connect via ADB, I can use Shizuku, or if I want to root, I can even do it forever without reconnecting. This application only adds to the problem but is not practical at all!
This app is good, before i was using this and it has no bugs, but now it keeps saying "Checking Brevent server, just a moment. . ." It was stuck there and i was waiting for 1 hour, please fix this bugg!! I've been waiting for too long and trying to fix the bug of the app, I did many uninstall but it still at stuck loading, but i usually got good Internet connection.
Edit : The app used to work fine with root with previous version (3.5.9) if I remember correctly or at least the one which was current till December '18. And frankly speaking, I found the app better than Greenify whether the phone was rooted or unrooted. Edit: Don't know why the f*** support for root has been removed. Wish I had taken a backup of the app or read the changelog before updating ☹️ It was a great solution to keep memory and battery hogging apps like FB and FB Messenger in check.
DEVELOPER PLEASE READ: Your app is not compatible with Lineage OS. I have determined that it blocks the Lock Screen or something to that extent, which makes the phone totally unusable and slow (it took me 2 solid minutes to unlock my phone with my finger print). I request that you address this issue, but its your app so you can choose not to. Otther than that, I really enjoyed it, 5/5. If it works I will pay for the root option.
It actually took me a bit of figuring out to determine what this app really was used for as its primary feature. Then I realized when the server is running in the background you are able to use this app to not only disable or put to sleep any process or service running on your device, but it also is capable of monitoring and determining what apps are not needed and are wasting battery in the background. But the fact that it allows you to perform functions that typically require adb shell.
I just started using this app and love it so far. My battery life has improved significantly. If you haven't used Brevent, I highly recommend it. To expedite the adb command after a restart, open notepad; create a batch file with the necessary script. So whenever you restart your device, you won't need to type out the adb command every device reboot, to start Brevent. Create a batch file with [adb devices] followed by [adb -d shell sh /data/data/me.piebridge.brevent/brevent.sh]
I don't get this it's so confusing. It says apps with allow sync will not be brevented but how do we choose those apps? There's literally no other way to pick specific apps I want to brevent. There's premade list that I can't enabled or disabled. UI is very bad compared to greenify. I don't even know if this is working or not. Can't you just copy greenify's UI? It's dead anyway. The creator won't mind.
Doesn't work, tried on x100 ultra, gave it all permission and set the most aggressive with the shortest amount of time options for Facebook and messenger. It closed then a few times but most of the time they can run in background with no issue, at the time of typing this they have 40 mins uptime.
