SCAM!!!! Run fast and run hard from this app. If you try to use the free version, you go into a circle where they give you billing options. Say to continue to free version and...surprise!...it takes you back to paid options. YOU NEVER HAVE A FREE VERSION OPTION. Worse, you might also get stuck on an ad page...and can't get out no matter how many times you hit the X. I will never pay for an app that pulls these type of stunts. There are too many decent ones out there...this isn't one of them.

Took a very clear picture of a beetle with a horizontal yellow stripe on its back. The app only showed basic black beetles with no markings. Frustrated, I took more pictures and tried again. Gave completely different results of green beetles. Tried again. Won't let me search again without purchasing a subscription. Why would I pay for crummy technology? The results were nothing like the pictures I took. Bad app.

This app should not be categorized as free. There's not even a free trial. All you can do for free is scroll through their various bugs. To get an insect identified you have to subscribe & it is not cheap. I have no issues with pay apps if they're up front about it. It may very well be an amazing app, but I won't know as I am not comfortable subscribing or being tricked by deceptive companies.

Trash. If you use the free version, be prepared to watch non-stop ads. Each time you try to take a picture, you are sent back to the pay screen. From there, you can opt out. Next, you go to another screen to take a photo, but when you click on the Photo Identification button, you are forced to watch an ad first - sometimes twice! This procedure happens every single time. I repeat Every. Single. Time. Unfortunately, insects have no patience for this and have moved on with their lives.

The free version of this app used to work really well. Now, there are so many TikTok & game ads that whatever insect you were trying to identify has crawled away before the app camera opens. Today, I got stuck in a loop for several minutes where everytime I would click the camera, an ad would play, when the ad ended, same thing would happen again and again and again. The bug flew away and I finally just deleted the app from my phone while an ad was still playing. I'll find a different ID app.

This app has been pretty useful; it identifies insects and such pretty accurately but it has some underlying issues: the "send feedback" option in the settings doesn't work; if you make any more than 6 collections, it doesn't display the rest when you try to add more bugs to your collections after an identification; I also don't appreciate that the app insistently pushes subscriptions onto the user while using the app (asking once is enough..).

I wanted to begin with the 7 Day Free Version. Quickly, I discovered this is a very good app for creating instant frustration. I persevered and was eventually able to begin the trial period. If rating this app for its level of irritation, I would award it four stars. After only using it to identify three insects, I am to say, with all sincerity, I think they should pay people to use it instead of the other way around.

The biggest issue is that the app doesn't really do its job well. It'll offer several options asking the user to select what they think it is. I get many insects are so similar you can't tell exact differences easily, but generally apps give a percentage of certainty rather than asking me to pick which is right. Most insects don't even have a description here or the common name. I end up having to do the same amount of research. Narrows the options only.

Trash, you get in, take a picture, then when it goes to do its work automatically selects "$3.99" A WEEK and puts the continue button at bottom as if it's implied this is a good deal...it's not. Not only is 3.99 a week an awful price, you can't even test the app to see if it works first. So for all you know you'll be giving these people 4.00 a week for nothing. Look elsewhere.

Always reverts back to wanting you to get the paid subscription. PITA to use this app & it doesn't give a lot information.

Useless for me. Showed it several photos of a large hornet I'd trapped (clear, detailed, from several angles) and each time it came up with 4 to 6 possibilities all of which bore little resemblance. Eventually spotted a match on another Google search. (It was a European hornet, native to the UK where we are and nothing to worry about apart from looking fearsome due to it's large size.) I'm deleting this app as unimpressive.

Absolute rubbish. You cannot use this app without first choosing a payment option. Submitted a clear photograph of a spider, the matches they suggested looked nothing like the photo I sent. They claim that you can cancel yoyr subscription at any time, yet there is no menu in the app to manage your subscription. Luckily I paid through PayPal so was able to cancel folliwing payments, but I've still lost the initial payment for a week to get scammed. Do not downliad this app.

Asks for a 5 star review before giving you access to the app. It then heavily pushes you to install the pro version as you navigate to use it for its intended purpose. I originally gave 5 stars to placate it just so I could quickly identify insects which are in large numbers in the house but have since rescinded this review through frustration with this behaviour.

The app is comprehensive, reliable and very helpful when deciding the degree of alarm when encountering unknown insects, especially when small children are a concern.

Terrible app. Every time that you want to identify a bug it pops up asking you to upgrade to premium which is severely overpriced then it gives you an ad Once you get through all of that it is very easy to tap outside the box and have go through that again If you want to look at a bug in your collection you get an ad for each bug The only good thing about this app is its identifier which actually works but its not worth wait for the ads Save yourself the time and just use google lens.

What ever happened to apps that charged a once-off fee. Every app always wants a subscription to maintain revenue, but I swear they end up losing out in the long run. If they just charged a single $10 fee I'd consider giving them money. For an app you may use once a month, I'm just wondering who in their right mind is actually paying these guys.

ABSOLUTELY DOWNLOAD THIS APP!! It is accurate with the results, and it is TRULY free as long as you don't mind ads. Also, the ads are not at all long at all. In fact, you can back out of them immediately and continue using the app. No credit card info or trail period needed.

So far you are batting 1,000! This app has been correct on every insect I've had analyzed so far, and that's only 50% of my happiness. I absolutely love knowing about the insect that I'm analyzing. I've learned what insects are helpful and which are not, which ones are dangerous, poisonous, or just basically unwanted and I couldn't be happier. Yes, I'm extremely happy with this app, kudos and much appreciation to whomever put the time and effort into it's creation.

this app definitely identifies bugs but it's a little bit difficult to get to what you need like trying to find pictures in your gallery that you've already taken et cetera et cetera period And there's definitely kind of a deceivious plug for their paid version throughout. but it does what it says it does if you can figure out how to get it to do it

On 1st opening the app was the unskippable intro and IMMEDIATELY a rating screen (-1 star). I was then shown an ad (-1 star) but had not truly used it yet. I then tapped the button to take my first picture and prompted to upgrade to premium (-1 star). STILL had not taken the picture. Finally got the picture taken, waited for the identification and, it was wrong. I already knew what the spider was (-1 star). How this app has such a high rating is beyond me.
