*update that the link sent to me by support takes me to a "page can't be reached message" in two browsers. For many years we've used the app, have the magic pass, and our kids love the creations we've made. So it may seem strange my review is only 3 stars, and I would love to be able to amend this review to 5 stars, however I've been trying to contact customer support in multiple ways over the last two weeks and haven't gotten a response from any of the emails I've sent or forms I've submitted.
This used to be a great, free Christmas experience when my older boys were little. Now it's $5.99 per video!!!! 😧🙄 You USED TO be able to show what gift they wanted, if they've been naughty/nice and what behavior they needed to work on. Now it basically just lets you add a name, birthday and a photo. Greed has stepped in, now they charge premium prices to do what they used to do for free. I get charging premium for extras but not for the videos that made them great to begin with. We went with 'Message From Santa' app instead and it's only $1.99 to subscribe for the year. They're short and sweet videos with no photos, but I'd rather support a developer who isn't as greedy at Christmas time.
Son was excited, just wish it could pronounce his name proper so spending money to buy the additional options was worth it. Luckily he saw the spelling so he truly got excited, but after reading some of the comments on the ratings; I am reluctant to purchase because there are alot of other apps that dont charge for calls. If you could see previews of what you are getting that would be very helpful to those of us who are a little apprehensive.
We love the app but have had trouble with each video. We bought the $50 pass for the year and have created several videos. the photos haven't matched the questions in the setup when the video plays, the kinks have stopped at multiple selections and do not continue and the call from Santa never connected, even after entering 3 numbers. A ticket was opened 2 days ago and there has been no acknowledgement from the team. I expect a much experience, especially when paying for it.
Can't login. This app will not allow a password login anymore and it's forcing me to use an email link. The link just takes you back to the sign-in page and will not allow me to log in. Update: I have sent two email requests to the site prior to you posting your response. Please respond. Second update. It's now 48 hours after my original original request for assistance. Three emails to the customer service link you provided and no response. Unacceptable. Horrible customer service.
I was genuinely interested in purchasing a subscription after seeing the initial video that seemed to be included in the "free trial". I uploaded the photo for the video, the video played for about 5 seconds, then told me my free trial was over. So this app has essentially zero unpaid features. I've now chosen to not pay for a subscription because I found the "free trial" to be misleading and I don't trust that other aspects of the app won't also be misleading.
I canceled my subscription for this app last year because my kids have outgrown it. Still, I was charged this year. it does not appear in "my subscriptions" anymore and payment was not authorized. I tried the help center chat, but have not received a reply after 24 hours. So not buy premium, you'll never be free of the recurring charges. "Cancel anytime" is a scam. Update: I submitted a help request through the app two days ago and even the chat bot is unresponsive. SCAM!
A rip off!! I purchased the 16 credits. That means I should be able to make multiple videos. It won't let you make a video for multiple kids. It forces you to make one video per child even though the video you choose allows multiple children. So I made one of 2 videos I needed. When I got back to make the 2nd one for my 2nd child, every Christmas Eve video is now "magic pass only". Every video I'm trying to choose is for magic pass. What is the point of having the credits then?
Bought a 10 year magic pass in 2019. like many on here it has stopped working. sent screen shots on how it doesn't let me in, but says my pass is active until 2029. I sent emails to every possible avenue to reach support. It took many days to respond, I gave a star for that. However, the fix only worked temporarily only on the browser version, never the app. When I tried the app, it reverted back to say no subscription again. It was great years ago, they need to fix it. Ticket still open.
This used to be the most magical part of our Christmas Eve for the past 6 years. Best thing ever. Until this year. The app has changed and now very limited options for phone calls. The price has doubled! Cost me $30 for 2 calls! My daughter's name pronounced wrong even tho I have all details saved in my account and never had a problem all these years. Then told my son he is years old instead of ten years old. Kind of ruined the magic. Sadly this will be the last time, what a shame.
I paid last year to do a video. I did not want a subscription and have cancelled. They have just taken money out of my account again with no notification. All the so called "links" send you round and round articles with no way of contacting them. I spoke with my bank & they have advised these charlatans have NOT set up a subscription (which means you have no way to cancel) but they are manually going in and taking the money from my Google Wallet. Nothing short of theft. Card now cancelled!!
Disappointed. Free video is misleading. You only get to view a snippet of your video for free. Very limited choices when buying single video. After creating my video a Pop up advised that the Download option was unavailable due to interactive segment, even though this video was in the single video choices. Of course, an upgrade $$ would unlock that option. Made some PNP videos a few years ago for grandkids and they were great. 5 stars then.. 2 now.
We've used the app since 2017 & always loved it. We bought the Ultimate Magic Pass that's supposed to give access until 2030. But the quality of customer support is now nonexistent. I've tried the website, all the socials & even old email addresses from previous years, but absolutely no response. I'm currently stuck with no way to make videos for my kids & no way to get help with fixing the issue, which I'm sure would be a quick fix. I don't know if it's cost cutting or a money grab but it's bad
"No passwords" just means I can't login usong the app, therefore can't watch my videos. Edit; the canned reaponse to my review of "make sure you are using the correct password or reset it if needed" speaks volumes. There are no passwords anymore, which is the whole issue.
Purchased the lifetime a few year's ago, which seems to be no longer active for some reason. Havent been able to log in within the past due to updates and/or changes to the app that has prevented me from doing so and I refuse to pay again after purchasing the lifetime. When I receive the email link to login nothing happens. Such a huge disappointment especially when your 6yo keeps asking to call Santa and I refuse to repurchase something that Ive already purchased.
While the app is amazing for kids, it's not great for adults. I removed my subscription and payment method and STILL got charged. I've been contacting them since the middle of November and no response, you can't speak to anyone. so not only have they taken payment without permission, they won't refund me..Also they have me on an auto renewal every year which I didn't sign up for and because I have already unsubscribed, I can't stop. I feel like I've been scammed.
My Magic Pass is unavailable to me even though there are 4 years left on it. First you sent me a non working link then you sent me a link to your support page but I can not submit a request because it is not showing my premium subscription. so the link doesn't do me any good. Is there a number I can call! Only a few days left until Christmas so it would be nice if you can please fix this
Honestly, I have had the top subscription for 3 years and no-one can open anything. Your share links don't work. Could you make it more difficult in this age of free AI? Make the video using the photos and names, allow me to share it on FB, Messager or Instagram and let the parents open it and show the kids.....No, weird links that don't open. constant requests for me to sign up again when I am already paying for premium.... I want my money back.

I bought the premium membership but can't get logged in. Tried multiple times I've tried sending a message for help. Nobody gets back to you and I can't log in what a waste of my money and time. I keep getting told to go to the area and ask for help.Unfortunately, I have to be logged in in order to access the help.And it won't log me in.So I guess i've completely wasted my money and time.
calls never work. tried different numbers. you pay a lot for this app. and half the features never work. They also bill you earlier every year, don't give you an option to cancel before the date, because they keep moving it forward. not recommended or worth the price
