Update: the voice problem was not in the app, it was my phone setting. I love this app still! * Can you tell me why all of a sudden the voice sounds like it has a sore throat? I've tried adjusting the speech rate and pitch, did not help. Perfect and better than my last app. You can choose option to read whole message or just who is calling or sending message. 100% happy here

App was great until it was not. I have used it for many years over many different phones. I've had my current phone for almost a year so it's not like it just installed it on a new phone. It was working great and two or three weeks ago it just stopped working. I made sure all the settings were correct I cleared the storage and the cache, even uninstalled and reinstalled it. It would work maybe once then stop again. I don't know why a good app is now a bad app, but will look for a replacement.

I hate to get rid of it - but I can't answer my phone. It announces, that is good. It does some lookup for names. It does not keep the results. It interferes with call screening, and with answering calls. Can't deal with that one. - - - UI could be much better. It's ad supported, so of course there are ads, but when it launches on receiving a call, it takes multiple steps to dismiss/ get out of it. Plus, "Are you SURE you want to exit?".

It is Working great. My old app eCID finally failed after 5 years it was so great. Since I found ping, and I'm pretty happy with ping it's going to be kind of expensive it reads a lot of apps , but it doesn't announce the name of the caller, That's the most important thing was trying so many other apps they didn't work. Somehow, I happened upon this app. It's working fantastic. It's announcing my phone calls. And let me not use the SMS side so I can keep ping too

Yep ,, this is really a damn good app ! Other reviewers said that to get rid of ads it would be great to have a paid version. I 100% AGREE! THIS APP IS THAT GOOD! Of course keep a free version so people can try before they buy, in my opinion, because your app is amazing, you guys would be making a lot more money adding on a paid version as well. Not too many apps I pay for, but the ones that are amazing I do! And this truly is one of them, and I know I'm not the only one !

Excellent. I would truly like an option to limit the number of words spoken in a given text or Whatsapp message. Some run too long, and it's a distraction. I have a hearing deficit and wear bilateral hearing aids, so the app is a godsend. Also, I use real voices developed by Acapela, so I don't need to listen to Siri or Andy Android (I'm sure not the actual name. The point is, I am glad this app allows voices of choice. I also use different languages and use native voices as needed. Thanks!

This is the only one I can get to work properly on my Samsung S20 FE! It works perfectly. The users complaining about ads and filling up their screens need to carefully look at all settings and option. Go to the 'Calls' Screen and at the bottom find, 'Visual Caller ID settings'. You should be able to clean up what ever you want! There's a lot of options there, scroll down!

So far, this app is the ONLY one that has worked for me, and I've tried at least 10. The ads don't bother me - they dont interfere with announcing the callers, which is all I care about. Also, you can adjust settings, I suggest setting announcing 3 seconds , although 2 is decent too. And based on another review I read, I adjusted the pitch lower to make it a little louder. Hopefully this will continue to work as it is, I will adjust my review accordingly if there are any problems.

3-19-19: Installed previous version, app works as it should now! Thanks! 3-9-19...Not sure what happened, but suddenly the app is calling out when I send a message from my messaging app! Meaning, when I send a text, the app calls out, "New message from Mood!" Mood confirms the message was sent, and announcer says it again! Like I said, it just suddenly started doing this. Also, I had to 'block' notifications from announcer, because it also just started a constant notification that it's running.

I like the announcements for calls. Quite like the fact that it looks up numbers that aren't in my phone book. Not sure if like the floating window that allows you to end the call. I've got used to using the power button to end calls. However before I used the power button it was difficult to end a call in another app, so this window will be useful to some. Reading out texts is great when I'm driving, but could be embarrassing in a meeting! Thankfully it can be turned off for meeting audio profiles, Muting when the volume - button is pressed would be a nice feature. Since I updated to Android 7 I no longer have audio profiles but Do not disturb does work. One thing that has started to annoy me is that it adjusts the volume for the announcement but doesn't set it back to where it was. If this is impossible to do I would rather it didn't adjust it at all

what happened he used to be a nice app and work properly. now I don't get the call announcing the way it should be I get music and then at the end it'll announces a couple of times the name. this is not right it should announce right off the bat constantly for the number of rings that is set up for. I'm disappointed it used to work good at the beginning what happened fix it and I'll give you five stars

does what it says on the box, altho the voice could use some work on. u only get the choice of i assume us a female voice, a male voice may sound better. other than than I'm very happy with it, even the fact you can set it to not just announce calls or texts but also read out your texts too, although i turned that off.

I've had to lower my opinion because when I changed phones it didn't behave. I went to a better phone but now I cannot adjust the voice pitch which is important to me. 11/23/22 just got it but seems to work fine. Okay update. I tried several others recently because I didn't like the ad popping up after the call but they all do that and were inferior to this one. One of them wouldn't even let me answer.

This works good but the issue i got is whenever I play anything having sounds (YouTube videos, Instagram reels/videos, music, etc), the sound cuts off as usual but the announcement isn't made and the call menu (to answer or decline call) never shows it. As a result, it's highly disrupting and I always have to second guess whenever people call me and it's been annoying

OK, I gave it a week as I have been disappointed before. I've tried other call announcing apps and they didn't work consistently. This app won't disappoint. It not only announces who is calling, it also tells you if it is a private number. It also not only announces my text messages, it reads me the content of the message as well! They have a widget that makes it easy to turn it off if you are with others. The ads are hardly noticable. They really deserve to get paid! You won't be disappointed!

Sorry I have to review my rating. This has gotten really poor in performance. I have condoned this for long but now have to uninstall. It just stops working for most times now even with frequent updates. I have been missing calls too often now because this won't speak and won't let the phone ring out. There were times I could have both low ringing and announcing but it's really bad now. You need to work hard as you have much competition now. Ciao!

This is a great app for voice caller ID services. I have Android 10. Tried five other apps that did not work very well. It is free. Has ads. Very easy to set up and use. If you have low vision, or simply want a voice caller ID. It is the best. Best app for announcing incoming calls or sms.

Great app, even if not unique. But.... There is no pay option to get rid of the ads. No convenient way of enduring a few to get rid of them for an extended period of time either. Will very likely have to uninstall as I cannot stand it. I hate ads, and simply will not tolerate them.

Since the update, Jan. 9, 2020, when a call or text comes through and it announces, it says the number as for instance, 111 minus 222 minus 3333. Instead of just the number. It always says minus in between the digits for the phone number calling from or number from the person sending me the text. Please fix!!!!!!!! Not happy with the update!!! It was great before the update. If you don't fix it, I'm going to delete it and find another one. Not happy at all now with it!!!!😡😡

Loved this App, was so convenient. Now for the past 3 days it doesn't announce anything. I keep doing speech tests as requested and even uninstalling and installing again... still nothing. I'm just going to uninstall and forget it. It was REALLY good while it lasted!
