This app makes online RV reservations a breeze. Prior to Campspot, I had to visit so many individual sites to find an opening. Typically I'd load all the reservation information only to find there was no availability. Campspot shows all locations on the dates you want as well. Change the dates by a few days and a new list will pop up. The navigation is super easy.
So I must be missing it somewhere in the description, but this app does not take into account state parks? I searched for a typical State Park that we stay at often in Alabama and it never came up no matter what filter I put on it. As I read a little bit more use of this app is free but you will get charged when you use it at time of booking. No thanks. I can continue to use Park Advisor, which gives TONS more info on parks, gas stations, restaurants and more with no fee
No flexible dates option option to see what openings are available & no option to choose you want only a pull through. Doesn't list cancellation policies - would like to know before I reserve. Also notice there's a couple places missing. But if the campground have to pay to be listed it make sense. Would like to see a paid level for people who want all locations that include free & pay, including the campgrounds that don't pay to be listed.
its okay. wouldn't be my first choice. lack of transparency concerning the actual route is an issue. I booked a site at Mt Olive Arkansas and wasn't alerted to the fact that its a 30 minute drive to go 10 miles. that's how winding the road is. no shoulders at all. that is something I need to know driving a motor home.
Great app! It does not locate state, provincial, or national parks. And it does not find all available campgrounds in a given area. I assume this is because it takes time to establish an affiliation and connect with all of the campgrounds out there. I can say that so far the ones we have found are quality and the reservation system works great.
this was a very nice campsite. plenty of space between rigs. nice little shop up front. would definitely stay again
trying to book and it's not saying any sites are available. To fix it, they need to add numbers to the campsites
what happened after the Oct 27th Update. Can't access the site, sign in, create, password reset, even the FAQs are Forbidden!!!
I keep getting emails (3 years now) to update my password but I don't use this service anymore and there's no way to unsubscribe or reply back, LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
sooop much easier than Dyrt and you can book your campgrounds and site right in the app instead having to go to some clunky webpage for some Podunk little overpriced "Dyrt patch" in the middle of nowhere that nobody would have ever found anyway. Search, click, zoom & scroll, click the spot you want, add to cart and check out... took me less that 15 minutes as opposed to HOURS with Dyrt... and THE! BEST! PART! is that the app and site are free unlike Dyrt which is $35/yr
This app seems to exist to provide a place for expensive resorts to advertise. The state park where I am right now has sites available on their website, but they don't show up in this app. OK for folks who want to drive 50-100 miles to have a place to spend the night and a whole lot of $$$. Useless for folks who want a peaceful place to enjoy nature.
Great concept if they ever work the bugs out. With how crowded RV parks are now, being able to shop around and find an available spot 24/7 without having to call the park during business hours would be great. Unfortunately, after 3 tries, I have yet to be able to make a single online transaction work without calling the RV park as the system keeps refusing my perfectly valid, perfectly normal credit card. (Upon calling, the parks have no problem making it work.) 'Kind of defeats the whole purpose, doesn't it? Campspot so far has been more frustrating to use than just calling and making a reservation. Another gripe is the $10.00 fee to secure a particular parking spot. (Unless you pay the fee, you are not guaranteed your choice.) I have seen other parks offer site choice online which is nice, but I have never seen a fee for this at any RV park other than an RV park that uses Campspot. By the way, the app has very limited usefulness as you cannot even access your account or reservations. Do better.....
I'm just now discovering this app what it can do. a lot of campgrounds, including Sun Resorts, use this software to manage and book reservations. you can look at "trips" and see every place you've gone, and save favorites to make it easier to return. highly recommended!
There is no way to leave a review on a campground. This is a important feature that is missing. I recently made reservations at a campground when I arrived in was in terrible condition. I couldn't stay there. I had to make last minute reservations elsewhere. Be cautious because they don't weed these places out and they won't refund you. Update camp spot has contacted me and said that they will contact the campground in my behalf to get our money back. I appreciate their quick response.
the booking feature is very unreliable. I attempted to find availability for a particular Park and it showed that nothing was available for the next 6 months. when I called the park directly they had lots of availability. this app does not accurately reflect availability at mini parks
I just download this app yesterday and wasn't able to mark a campground as a favorite. I decided to revisit Google Play Store today to see if there were any reviews indicating the same problem and imagine my surprise when I saw the app had been updated yesterday as well. Must not have caught the this bug to fix. Hopefully it's taken care of soon otherwise frustrations will continue to grow.
For an introvert, type-A-planner-mom, this app made camping even more relaxing. With four littles, being close to the fun is essential. That said, the ability to choose my own site, specifically the one on the end, with a 50-ft straight and clear shot to the playground, so this momma can just turn her chair to keep her babies safe, absolute win. However, this feature is not available on the app but on the desktop site. If you didn't know that already/use your computer, it does not tell you.
Enjoying it so far, after teasing it a few months, I finally booked through the app. I'm pleased it wasn't more expensive than booking through the RV site specifically... and hoping to look forward to all my reservations in the app for our big multi-stay trips.
The mileage of the campground from where you search for destination is inaccurate. You should map each campground to your destination for accuracy. I had to cancel a reservation because after booking I found it was 2 hours away from where I wanted to be and not 30 minutes Cost me 50 percent of the booking for cancelation.
I like that you can find available camping spots and book them through the app. as a camper who can take advantage of different discounts: military, senior, Good Sam, etc, I'm really disappointed that can't be done through the app.
