Decent game that's pretty addictive at first, but by around Day 9 or 10 (the game's equivalent of chapters/zones), progress comes to a screeching halt. You initially start off with tons of constant progress, than after about 4 hours you'll notice that slowing down a lot. Which would be fine, but at this point is essentially becomes a game you can "play" for about 15-20 minutes a day and waiting until everything resets again the next day. It's extremely reliant on paying money and expensive.
The game is so cute! I love the art style. However, it is extremely pay to win. There are ads and microtransactions available nearly everywhere you look. Also, I joined a new server but it seems like the arena is mostly only open either when I'm asleep or very early morning/late night. Inconvenient for my time zone. If the arena is going to be unavailable for so much of the day, perhaps make servers region-based so people don't miss a chance to enjoy game features.
The only issue is the pace, which is difficult to achieve I'm sure. At first it was too easy. Then the difficulty went to a moderate spot. I considered builds, pets, abilities, etc. Then after world 20, progression came to a staggering halt. The continuing events are about all I can do while I spam my energy in travels. I get it. It's to pinch you into spending real money. Issue is these little mobile games want to charge $50. Personally, I'd buy a steam or VR game for that price. Not worth it.
Very cute game designed to be a money pit. Every part of the game will constantly tempt you with various micro transactions promising boosts to advance further faster. It's very pay-to-win, so you'll never get any of the top spots on leaderboards unless you're willing to spend hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars on extra boosts. As a casual time waster, it's a decent game, as long as you can ignore the cash grab traps.
This game is NOT a tower defense game or whatever else it claims to be. This is a simplified roguelite game. You go on travels, watch your avatar and enemies fight each other, and select skills to increase your chances of winning (though those skills only apply during the travel and do not carry over). Outside of travels, you can make permanent upgrades. Devs, you already have a good game. I like it. You don't lie about it.
The game is quite cute and the mechanics do have some variety. There are your usual pay to win aspects such as game pass and what not but the prices do look reasonable if you want to go that route. There are zero forced ads. All adds are voluntary. Would recommend if you do purchase anything to get the ad free option. You don't need to buy anything to enjoy the game. Edit.. forgot to add that for some fights you can auto skip without needing to watch an ad or pay for it.
I'm actually so impressed! It's exactly what was promised in ads, and there are no ads in it besides ones you can choose to watch for extra resources. I don't ever find myself needing to do that though, because it's very generous with giving out what you need. The content is really fun and there are SO many different little modes and challenges besides the main one, which is also really fun. I'm actually very addicted to this. I normally don't write game reviews but this felt warranted!
I'm actually really enjoying this. The only ads I've seen so far are for extra items. The gameplay is fun and addictive. There's no control over how you battle, but I love reading the little blurbs about your journey through levels. You do choose new skills each round to make your character more effective during battle. There's extra modes on top of regular level progression as well. All in all, it's a great game and worth the download.
Core game is fun. The awful parts are the aggressive in-game promotions to buy stuff, slow progression unless you pay for a myriad of things (not just one battle pass), and clear pay to win system that doesn't reward proficiency or knowledge, but monetary investment. This game could be so much more if it wasn't for the predatory and aggressive monetization.
I really wanted to enjoy this. But it very quickly becomes a "give us money or else you don't progress anymore" kind if game. Not a day later and I'm already stuck in a loop of I have no energy, no other way of obtaining resources, and can't get past the first obstacle of a level without paying for loot boxes to obtain gear and gear upgrading materials.
Cute graphics and dialogues, but the "game" got old for me in under a month. I purchased no ads, which was good. but seriously, 90% of this app is opening upgrades and "epic" or "rare" rewards and chests... then earning more rewards by opening rewards... then earning more rewards for opening *those* rewards. before you know it, 40 minutes is gone and all you've done is bounced back and forth between a confusing array of shops and events to open rewards. It got to be very dull.
Enjoyed the initial rpg portion of the game. There are lots of minor UI choices that make it less user-friendly, though. You shouldn't need to re-select a setting every time you play (i.e. skip, or 2x speed). A "collect all" option would be a godsend, instead of having to search through all menus and click each reward... More details on skills during the main gameplay would be nice as well; what is sword-chi, and how would the typical play find that info?
I've really enjoyed my time with this game and I'm still playing it. I have to say though, the "Lucky Cart" aspect of this game is exactly that. You must be LUCKY to get anything decent from it. The drop rate is beyond garbage, doesn't matter how many tokens you save for it. Beware, this aspect of the game will absolutely make you mad every single time. I've dumped tens of thousands of tokens into it and not once got anything worthwhile. No joke.
I cannot recommend this game with how things currently are. progression is a snails pace unless you're willing to pay. the 7 day bonuses for new players is so unrealistic. By day 5 the dev expects you to have a combat rating of 500 and be at lvl 15. I'm not even at 200 and can't pass lvl 9 because it's so hard and I'm actually playing the game. I like the gameplay for it but the rewards are so pathetically small. This game has potential but I just cannot recommend it.
Fantastic game! Horrifically abusive business model. 1) The game is enjoyable and I was pleasantly engaged for hours while on bedrest. I wanted to give them money BUT 2) "microtransactions" go into purposefully misleading and confusing territory. They divide each possible acess aspect as much as they can, and charge for each! AND a weekly! And each "unlock" purchase is unclear about what it does or does not provide access to. very good game. very offensive business framework
Fun game, but the damage mechanics are ridiculous. Despite my pet builds having excellent damage reduction, the enemies do ridiculous amounts of damage and it becomes impossible to clear levels consistently at higher chapters without a particular set of skills. The game is blatantly a pay to win scheme. Stay away from this game. The developers are greedy and rip you off at every opportunity. I'll be uninstalling very soon.
This is one of the few games, I've felt inclined to rate. To be upfront there are gacha and paid elements but so far I've never felt inclined to buy. Now that thats out the way, the game is a simple one button press side-scrolling 2D Adventure RPG. You have mini narrative blurbs along the way during stages and can eventually equip your cute capybara and get a pet along the way. The art is cutesy and chibi like (which admittedly ain't my thing) but the music, my god they were cookin 🔥
the game itself is okay, not great, but there are several major issues IMO, 1 . WAY too many extra little nonsense things that have nothing to do with the game but you have to click them all to get the resources, and it doesn't matter what order you do them. and 2. the game requires active wifi to open and run, which is pointless when this is one of the most simplistic games and should be a fully offline game
The game is biased towards one specific play style. The devs only care about you if you go sword and combo. They turned the entire game into a follow-the-leader whale farm. Events are literally just slot machines. Boring, predictable, and fundamentally broken. Half the weapons in the game still don't have an SS upgrade available! How much longer are we supposed to wait for?!? Absolutely inexcusable. I'm deeply considering uninstalling and moving on.
Beware buying packages as some borderline on false advertising. I bought the newest season pass for completing levels and apparently $14.99 only covered 11 of the like 160 days! It was not at all clear that you were only buying 11 days worth of the season as all of the text on the screens where you go to buy the package suggested that you got the amount of rewards based on the amount of days finished and thats it. Don't bother reaching out to customer support as they really just want your money.
