I'm a Single lady and independent person, but not very car savvy. I can do minor stuff, but I leave the big stuff to the professionals. this app is AMAZING! I have diagnosed a few things and told my mechanic exactly what was wrong. it was correct. This app is so easy to use! And free! I was intimidated at first, being almost completely clueless, but directions were clear and I get all the info I need. my fav part is where it links you to articles and videos relating to the repairs needed!
good app. it has the most free features I've found so far of all the obd2 apps in the app store. and most importantly ... not a single ad. some of these apps are unusable due to the amount of ads. Also this is the only app I was actually able to connect to my adapter. I am going to buy the pro version for only $5 for a lifetime account! other apps wanted as much as $15 per month for the pro version. I'm still learning all the many options. thanks whoever made this app.
Fairly comprehensive The only thing I wish it could do is program keys and remotes, if it is there I haven't found it yet. Only used it once to realize it was good. Previously I had used another app, but had limited info. I thought my Bluetooth reader didn't read right. I was looking at another reader ($400+) but decided to look into this app first. Sooo glad I did, almost every option was suddenly there and functional.
Excellent app! Does everything I need it too and more, I've been working on cars for 20 years now and never used a Bluetooth scanner before! I would always use the really expensive snap on scanners, but with this app I will save so much $$$$$. It works perfectly, the paid version is sooooo much better for me, but the free version was still quite impressive! Never will I buy an over priced scanner again!!!!
This is the most comprehensive app that I found for use with Toyota Hybrids and PHEV's. It can display power and current flow in and out of the traction battery, and coolant temperatures for the engine, transmission, and traction battery. FYI: always unplug your OBD2 scan tool before you walk away from the car. Some of these do not automatically turn off, and they can drain your battery in a couple of days. I hope the developer will add a profile for the RAV4 Prime.
It used to work great with my Bluetooth obd2 reader, and now it's just won't connect. Other apps connecting to the unit with no issues so there must be something in the app. I tried to restart, reconnect the Bluetooth unit, checked for updates.. nothing worked. It's a bit annoying since I paid for the full version. Any recommendations?
I have used CarScanner a few times with my IONIQ 5. Today, suddenly, the gauge I wanted to read says only available in the pro version. I looked around in the app and on the website and wasn't able to find any explanation as to why this behavior started suddenly in the middle of my road trip. I ended up buying it. It's really frustrating to buy something without understanding what I'm getting. I wish the free and paid features were enumerated so that I wasn't surprised in the middle of my trip.
Pretty neat app. I've only used it with my car on not running yet so I'll update when I get to use the other features but my check engine light is on and I had bought a "micro mechanic" device so I could get more information than I got from AutoZone but the app that is for the device said there were no issues when I ran the diagnostic and they make you buy the app for any other information which I just bought their device the least they could do is have a demo or trial... So I downloaded some other apps and came across this one... It's not exactly aesthetically pleasing but it does what it needs to and more. Easy to use too. I'm not mechanically inclined either but was able to set everything up and somewhat understand what the error code means.
I bought a scanner from Amazon to read an ABS fault code. This was the first app I tried and, with the default settings, didn't get any results. I tried several other apps to no avail. Finally, I came back to Car Scanner ELM OBD2 as i recalled a message saying there was an option for more intensive scans. I find that you can slide the dot on the error read page to the right to enable more options. The scan took a while but gave me what I needed!
Tried a whole bunch of these car scanner apps. This is by far the best. If you have an ELM code reader device, this is the software to get. The basic free app will work for most people. For a minor cost for the pro version you unlock additional useful monitoring parameters. Developers: I can set the guage boundaries for the dial type display but not on the graph display. It would be nice to be able to set the min and Max values on the graph displays as well.
Not a bad app. I like that everything is customizable (like the gauges on the dashboard). The app only has two problems: 1) After a period of time (about a month on average) it shows that your trial has expired. The problem I have with that is there is nothing about this being a trial in the "read more" section on Google Play Store. 2) There are options to backup all of your gauges and recorded data, and there is also an option to export it. Unfortunately they missed an import feature, so it does you no good if you have to change your phone. I just spent 45 minutes reconfiguring my gauges. That sucks. Fix those two problems and the rating will go up to five stars.
There was a little learning involved, with this free app, but it worked great. To clear a fault code, you have to turn the motor off, log out of the connect feature in the app, and then log back in with the connect tab. It took a couple of tries to get that right. Plus, my cellphone showed that I was paired, but did not say connected, but as soon as I went into the app. All the sensor data was there. By comparison, the torque-lite app was a completely useless, waste of time, and I couldn't even change the units from celcius to Fahrenheit, as many ways as I tried. Whatever the reason, I think the Car Scanner developer deserves kudos for putting his best foot forward, and the few extra bucks he asks for his other full feature pro app, or whatever it's called. Next time I log in I plan on rewarding him for his efforts.
I tried a few other OBD2 apps before deciding on one, and this one was by far the best & easiest to use. In fact I couldn't get the others to work on either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Seems that for this kind of app Bluetooth is the way to go. There are too many variables with Wi-Fi & not needed anyway. For only a few $ the upgrade definitely worth it. The live data graphs are easy to understand, & with the upgrade you get to use more variables simultaneously. Download of data is also useful.
Had a check engine light come on my car a couple months ago. Connected to my bluetooth OBDII device quickly and easily. Got the codes in a few seconds and was able to diagnose the issue and make repairs. Having an older, higher mileage car I need a quality app to help me keep this car running as noce as it does. The free version of the app is perfect but you guys deserve the $ for the paid version. Thank you!
great tool. works on every vehicle I've plugged it into. app works great with the device and phone, no connection issues at all. I leave it plugged in and use the app as a passenger in the car to read live data. just wish I could change the speed and temperature, converted to standard (mph, Farenheit, etc.). as is, it reads on the live data page, C°, and, km/h for speed. I'm from the US and dont know how to read/convert those numbers while reading them live. that's why it's 4 stars and not 5.
Very handy and excellent OB2 scanner. It provides a lot of other data, fuel consumption, 0 to 60 mph, tourque, horsepower, and much more. I just installed it 2 days ago, and am learning it. But I I think it's awesome and wanted to support the developer, so I bought the pro version. Which by the way is less than a cost of a Starbucks coffee. So, please support them.
I've tried pretty much every obd2 app there is and this one is by far the best! you're able to get more features free than any other app and it's layout is easy to navigate. I'm trying to figure out how to purchase the app right now but can't seem to figure it out.. I'm not in my vehicle at the moment.. so the only work id suggest is making it easier to get the paid version even if your not in your car at the time.
Using on a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban and I'm blown away by how much info I'm able to check & see... awesome assortment and variety of information given (even in free version!). I've tried other apps and this one shows THE most by far (more than an app I'm paying 4.99 a month for!). Thinking of canceling other one and sticking with THIS one! Great job, developer(s)! You can select your vehicle/manufacturer interface (or select the top generic auto detect if unsure).
Love it for the gas tracking feature. But the auto 🛺 collaboration features don't get as close as I would like. I have just been manually adjusting the gps offset and fuel calibration consumption. Which is the bigger the number you manually put in the more it says you used. So if it is too high, try to decrease it. You may only need to increase or decrease it by ".00003" really 🤔 if it's not off by much. But I'm really picky about getting it exactly right ✅️.
app works good. i use it to turn off the engine light so i can use my remote start. evap emissions small leak is the code. I'm not ready to fix that one yet. But the app works fine. Not a ton of stupid ads either. Sometimes it doesn't want to connect via Bluetooth but that's not the apps fault... its my phone. Dont know how it could be improved so it gets 5 stars.
