First off, half the time, the buttons on the screen don't work, so you have to go through text or phone support to get stuff done. They also never explain the process. You agree to a price and schedule an appointment with a repair shop, so everything should be good when you drop the car off. NO, they don't include the price of services required to get the repair done. Then the discount was almost the same as my vet discount. It took all afternoon to save $25 on a $1000+ bill. Not worth hassle.
I downloaded the app just to be able to review CarAdvise. I never used the app. CarAdvise is terrible. All l wanted was an oil change. My appointments were always canceled at the last moment by the shops. The shops aren't interested in doing an oil change for $11 and do whatever they can to avoid the work. I tried to get my oil changed for a month. I gave up. I canceled CarAdvise, paid the shop full price, and was done in 20 minutes. Using CarAdvise was a huge waste of time.
Good app, but it needs to fix the feature where you can edit the mileage on your car (ex. if my car was 108,000 miles, the app would show a totally different mileage number). Also, sometimes it doesn't even work. Another thing is that when I go to the shop where I scheduled my services through your app, they don't even receive it. Please fix, thanks!
Terrible start to finish. I had to make four phones calls in the process of using this app. Received multiple appointments at different times than I requested. I approved the work in the app, but the approval could never reach the shop due to "a coding issue". After an hour of submitting and resubmitting, calling and texting and getting nowhere I ended up having to pay the shop directly and request a refund of charges the app made. One of the worst app implementations that I've ever experienced.
I've had nothing but problems scheduling with this app. I would receive emails stating my appt was canceled and I needed to reschedule, however, that was never the case with the garage. They thought I blew off my appt. Also, the app quoted me $50 less for oil change, cabin filter and tire rotation than what I was actually going to get charged. That's a significant difference! Done with this. Absolutely not worth the time and aggravation.
The amount of time you waste trying to dodge all the bugs in the app so you can successfully book an appointment and save a few dollars is NOT worth it. Edit: failed to mention that the shop you set an appointment with will not honor your appointment sometimes. It's almost like they are unaware of your arrival and you do not even exist in their system until you actually check in. If the shop is busy and you have an appointment through caradvise, good luck getting your car serviced.
Lol they're so awful. They never get the orders or the totals right. This app is glitchy. It doesn't let me update my car's miles. I put the current miles in which is $138,600 miles and then it just says 86,000 something 🤣 I've constantly had to call support because they've had to refund me money they've taken out. There's constant issues with the shops connecting to the app, and car advise servers. 🤦♂️🤷♂️ For instance there's a particular pep boys that had trouble for an entire work day!
don't get me wrong this is a good app. the only issue I have is that I have to call as a precaution to make sure that the shop got my appointment because for some reason it doesn't like to go through to the Shoppes system. I made an appointment last night for an oil change today and I just called them and they never got my appointment from caradvise. luckily I was able to make an appointment and he said that he would put it through car advice tomorrow I think caradvise needs to work out bugs
Only worth while if you are getting a discount from one of the gig apps. And even then only if it's 75% off. They quoted $103 for an oil change after the 10% off. Having been to this mechanic many times I know the standard price is $75. I had a 75% discount so I went for it anyways. Once oil change was completed the charge to CarAdvice was $75 ($81 with tax) but CarAdvice billed me at the non-existent rate of $93 plus taxes and fees for a total of just under $32 after discount.
Download this app so I could see partnered gas stations for $.05 off per gallon. After downloading the app there's no information at all about gas stations, only vehicle maintenance and repair shops. All the negative reviews make me think this isn't worth it and USAA should end their partnership with Caradvise.
clueless employees at Belle Tire, appointment time NOT confirmed. I made what I thought was an appointment through the app, even called customer service HOURS after scheduling. they said someone would call the shop to confirm. I get a text saying to walk-in. the shop may not be available at that time... I may have to wait hours.... also the employee at belle tire had never heard of caradvise... I google around, turns out the employees have to have knowledge of how to process the order too...
This is the second time I used this APP. Both times I received an appointment confirmation. Both times I went to the shops and I wasn't on the books. Both times I was informed by the shops the service requested was not available at their franchise. Trying a third shop. If they can't help me, I'm uninstalling this!
MORE EXPENSIVE!!! I called every shop on the list and their price for the exact same services are $40-$50 cheaper than this app! I even paid for the premium service and the discount is NOT an additional 10% off. There was absolutely no change in price from the basic membership to the premium membership. This app is a scam.
They have you approve for service before the work is COMPLETED and TAKE YOUR MONEY! If the mechanic needs a new approval, they DO NOT DO REVERSE your funds are CREDIT back, which means your car is stuck until they release the funds back into your bank account! I contacted my bank, and they stated that no reversal or credit has been posted to the account after waiting 4 hours! My bank can't do anything until they do!
Has not worked yet. The customer service seems to be kind. When I have gone to shops where I've made an appointment, I have been told that they don't see the appointment at all. That has happened twice/+. I've let the shop know that another same company shop has diagnosed my car to need a certain service, but it didn't matter, they wanted to check the car again. Caradvise has been unsure of the final price and what services it completely entails. It's a great concept & hope it works out.
I like the idea of this app very much, to manage my mom's car, not forget my own maintenance, and save a buck too. However, this is the worst app I've ever used. Ever. Full stop. For anything. National branded shops with good reputations don't get notified you've set up an appt, nor are the services listed on app necessarily ones they perform there, nor are the prices listed remotely correct, nor can you approve work like they say. Online pay--nah. Terrible app. Deleted, but had to review🗑️💩🔥
My experience was very smooth and easy other than CarAdvise scheduling my appointment during their lunch. But the garage got me in as soon as lunch was over with no pain or hassle. The app was easy-to-use. Got to the garage, told them my name, and had an appointment through CarAdvise. There is no payment to the shop only to CarAdvise. It was so easy that I felt like I got a free oil change. ☆☆☆☆☆ all the way. Thanks, CarAdvise!!

Miserable. I tried using CarAdvise with my email address and ended up with 3 accounts under my email address. I paid for premium and scheduled service, but the service was approved on my account that wasn't premium, so I saved nothing and wasted 5 hours of my day before I finally had all three accounts deleted. I wish I could say good things about my experience, but all I benefitted from this is multiple free accounts and no access to my paid account. Not recommended.
The absolute WORST experience. I'm an Uber driver, Uber promotes them for discounts.. I scheduled an oil change set at $20 cheaper than I normally pay.. I set it up 1 month advance. 2 weeks til, still pending. Contact cust serv, they had to call to verify. They supposedly call and confirmed appointment & price. Day before, they message me date not available, resched to next week. Then said the price they "confirmed" was based on 2 year old data, and it was actually $10 higher than I normally pay
Good concept but unfortunately all the autoshops (mainstream ones) have never heard of it and you have to figure it out together. It works in the end but spending $400 on new tires and only getting 5% off (which will later be sent back to my debit card) isn't exactly a great deal and honestly isn't worth the hassle to save just $20
