As a former employee, I've always found the app to be less user-friendly than others. I believe it needs to be simplified. Instead of trying to figure out how much half or extra is, why not use the +/- to choose the number of pumps/scoops of flavoring that someone wants added or deleted from the original amount? ☆Bucks does this and it's so simple & clear as to how much you're getting. Where I get my coffee on any given day depends on what fave I can get using an app.
Coffee is great but rewards seem to be a problem. Don't know if it's the app or employees not knowing how to have them added. When redeeming them, have to remind the employee of the reward you'd like to use, after it's added to be redeemed and shows up, even after they ask for the number associated with the rewards account. App problem not working with store systems or employee training program?
Food orders are risky. This app will allow me to order food that the store does not have, and there is apparently no mechanism for refunding my money. This has happened to me several times, and they write a credit under my name in a logbook by the register. This system works o.k. when I'm shorted at a store that I frequent, but when I'm traveling I am just out the money. Other than that problem, the app works smoothly for me every time.
Works like it should I suppose, but don't see the point. You can't order in advance and pick up at the window like other food ordering apps; was recently told at my frequent location that I must come inside to pick up, which I was unaware of. That's the only reason I use apps like this, convenience. Doesn't make sense for Minnesota weather and having 2 toddlers.
The app is really nice! The options are very clear, and I found a few options I didn't know about! If you order Caribou at all, this is a good thing. Today I got a bag of coffee beans and two drinks, all covered by my perks The pick up was a bit confusing the first time but the staff made it easy. It could be better if I could use multiple rewards on the same order, but I got around it by placing multiple orders.
I'll get pop up notifications showing what the deal of the day is. once that notification is cleared, there's no way to go back in the app to see what that deal was. when bringing up the deal at the store when ordering, the worker has no clue what I'm asking about. trying to use these deals kinda makes you look like an idiot that's just asking for handouts. this has happened every time I've tried using those deals, so I no longer attempt it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
App content and functionality is good, but if you're going to throw notifications at me daily, let me read them. 6 months and the notifications are still mostly useless, too long to read in preview, don't expand to view all text, and clicking through just leads to the main page of the app. I will gladly use your deals if ever I could find the things. Also, the way you actually pick a reward deal when you can figure it out is a bit obscure/needed some explaining. I feel self-conscious using your app in your line if anyone else is waiting behind me.
Using this app is sub-par. The interface feels outdated, and I found the process to add gift cards to my Perks account absurd. It was not intuitive to add the first card, and it's ridiculous that via the app you are unable to add additional cards to your Perks balance. To add insult to injury, the website also blows. When adding another gift card you have to redundantly prove you're not a robot multiple times since it doesn't automatically prompt for a PIN, even though it's impossible without.
Update: The app loading issues have been fixed and it runs a lot smoother now. I've run into no issues placing orders, outside of the interface being a little harder to find what drink you're looking for. It's split between trending/signature/etc when previously hot/cold/blended/etc worked just fine. Coffee and baristas are always great though!
They fixed the bugs! So I've upped my rating from 1 star back to 5 stars. :) It used to crash when doing anything related to location permissions and when setting up a credit card on file. But it hasn't crashed once in the last few days. I like the new app interface more than the old, but I still get confused about the weird categories on the menu. Sometimes it's hard to find things. But I use this app multiple times a week again, and I really like it. :)
I like the convenience of using this app to preorder and get a cup of coffee without having to wait in line. However the app is very slow and prompts a message to check my internet connection, which has full bars an is never an issue for any other apps I use. It sometimes takes longer than waiting in line.
Update 3/27/23....re-installed. STILL DOESN'T WORK. Now you can't get your upgrades from the store even!!The app loads, shows what you can do, but you can't actually do it! It won't acknowledge commands. When you 'x' out, the app goes blank (white page)! When it works, the set up doesn't differentiate between getting a free coffee (upgrade) and getting money off for an upgrade. Apparently per the staff you can't do free coffee upgrades through the app! Why not?
The new app update that went out on 9/23/22 is terrible! It keeps glitching and I repeatedly get the "Oops! We spilled our coffee!" message. I also can no longer order online/ahead at my local store. I used to before the update but now it struggles to find my location and if it does find it, it tells me that order ahead is not available at that location, despite the fact that it was available before the app updated. I do like the new navigation buttons at the bottom though.
The app worked great until mid-May 2025 when the trivia option to save $0.10 stopped working. There is less than a half second to choose an answer to the question before losing because there isn't any time to read nor react. I considered the issue being my phone, so un-installed and re-installed, but that fixed nothing. I understand it is just 10 cents, but $ adds up over time.
I decided to get the app so I could customize my drinks and order ahead. The app gives you the option to customize, but does not let you select or delete all the ingredients in a drink. It doesn't even tell you what all the ingredients are. For example, the Iced Crafted Press has a sugar/salt mixture that is added. This is not listed as an ingredient in the description and does not come up as an option to customize. Not good for people who can't have sugar. Actually dangerous and deceptive.
A few weeks ago I took my saved card off because I wanted to change which one I had on there. it hasn't allowed me to save a new one since and this defeats the entire purpose of trying to order ahead, which is to save time, because I have to reenter my card info every single time now. also it apparently just ATE 30ish points because I tried to redeem a reward, got an error message, tried again, and then the points got taken off, but I was not able to use the reward, it doesn't show up as usable.
I cannot register for the app. I keep getting an error that says it is unable to process my request with the information I have provided. Another error said my email or phone number is already in use with an account. I do not have an account (tried the password reset with email) and there is no way to verify the phone number is indeed mine to fix the issue. It would be really nice if there was a Help button available to chat in app or way to send a text from the app to verify your phone number.
Wow. Bait and switch. Been a loyal customer almost daily for years. Now without notice they've cut the perk points you earn from 2 per $1 in half to only 1 point per $1, also raised the amount of points needed for a free drink to 175. So effectively made it so you'd have to spend more than twice the amount to get the same points as before. So they want us to spend $175 for 1 free coffee. Wow. Just wow.Again this was without notice. Rude. Disappointing. BS. I'll be going somewhere else.
Wow is the new app terrible. It's incredibly slow and buggy. It takes forever to load the different screens. I got really sick of hitting the "Try again" button on the "Oops, we spilled the coffee" error message page. When I was finally ready to complete my order (after 10 minutes-I timed it), I paid and a message popped up. I have no idea what the message actually said since it was just blank with an "ok" button. My order never went through, but my card was charged.
I like the deals that are available through the app, but there is no way to look at the details after they come through and push notifications. So, I have rewards that show up and the push notification says there's a time limit on them, but the reward and the app does not show any time limit or any other details. It's just frustrating because you don't know what you can use when.
