Chat is near worthless. Most of the features of the app worked ok. But the one feature that Carnival charges you for barely works at all. I paid $20 for me and 3 shipmates to be able to chat. When a message comes thru, there is no phone notification. Does Carnival expect us to check out phones every 10 minutes? I feel completely ripped off for buying a feature that didn't work for any of us. (2 Android, 2 iPhone users). Yes notifications were enabled on both the phone and the app.
Not a bad app, but sometimes takes too long to load, but that has more to do with a ship's poor wi-fi connection. Notifications are super slow and often don't even push to phone notifications which can be really bad for time sensitive things like digital debark process. Chat is the same way, does not push to phone at all, so have to check in-app to see if you got a message. Overall, not bad, but needs improvement.
worked well for me. did not work well for others in my group. I like that it has what's happening on the ship, and you are able to view menus. did not like that sometimes the messages sent in the hub weren't received until hours later. some people in my group it didn't work at all. we knew it wasn't a guarantee. would help if notifications would come through without having the app pulled up.
The app is great for keeping up with what's going on around the ship. You can also view your Pixel photos on the app which is great. there is much more that the app does! The one down side to this app is the chat feature. You are supposed to be able to txt or chat with everyone in your party - which would be great but the texts have extreme lag, if they send at all. Just needs some fine tooning but a great idea.
It makes the cruise events much easier to navigate through to help plan a great experience each day. The ship map is very helpful as well for finding places when you're not familiar with the ship. There is also a communication tool if needed. We opt to purchase their wi-fi option and use social media and Wi-Fi calling / texting for communication. It's probably not a good option for people who prefer paper menus and paper schedules. We enjoy it, use it and think it's great!
App that could be more. When it works properly it's easy to see what's happening, book a table for breakfast. When the app is down or you get the oops something went wrong. It's next to impossible to book a table which causes a much longer waiting for a table and eat. You also can not see the what's happening. Sometimes the app would work for me and not my husband or vice versa. we bouth did the out of wifi connect to app then out of wifi and back into airplane mode and restart. didn't fix app
The app was very helpful. I saw activity schedules easily and highlighted the ones that interested me. I also saved time and energy by making dinner reservations and by ordering and downloading my portraits on my phone (also saved me the aggravation of standing in long lines). I only wish it were possible to expand the view of the ship's map so it is easier to see. It also would be nice to show a map of the ship's current location at sea, too. Update 2/24/26: Deck plans can be enlarged now.
The app worked well, and i like that you can access your folio to keep track of what you have spent throughout your trip. I was dissatisfied though, in the room service section not including beverages. We didn't realize until the last day of our cruise, that we could call to order coffee. It would be great to order all drinks through the app!!
App was pretty good! It told me what was happening & when, and I could star what interested me. My time dinner worked great, once we figured it out. One issue was that a screen wouldn't refresh, if I stayed on the screen, but yet something had changed. This occurred when in the My Time Dinner screen, which I opened at 5pm, and at 5:40 pm it still didn't refresh to allow me to book a dinner reservation. I had to leave the screen and go back into it to find a usable button.
I don't think you can cruise without having this app. Overall helpful to keep up with scheduling and planning, but not reliable for timely notifications. $5 chat was hit/miss. Had basic Internet so phone text messaging much more reliable and usually timely. Cruise schedule on last trip was 1 day off, which threw us off many times during menu pick and scheduling. Apparently was norm for many. Would love a ship trip navigator instead of a hard-to-read side-view of the ship. Need push notifications
2019: great app. I wish it had the main dining menus; and I wish the Chat was part of the cruise cost, rather than extra. 2026: the only things this app is good for are checking your account balance, seeing what's going on around the ship, and looking at menus. Chat is HORRIBLE; app kept losing wifi connection, so kept missing messages between our group. NOT worth the $5/person.
It's a must-have if you're on a Carnival cruise. The app puts all of the information about your cruise, your spending, and your excursions in your hands at all times, and for $5/cruise gives you a means of communicating with the linked passengers of your party. My only complaint is that the back button on my S24 Ultra often backs me completely out of a module instead of to the previous view. There's a back button within the app that goes back to the previous view correctly though.
app was the bare minimum needed to manage my events and watch my account. the only search function was the map. there should be an overall search function to find activities and menu items, and more (global search across entire app) rather than forcing us to scroll through everything. also, please add the fitness class information, both paid and free so we can plan and book before the cruise.
The app was very helpful to keep up with what was going on, on the cruise. It help you to monitor any charges that were being billed to your card. It helped to locate foods and shop locations, it kept my time for both the ship time and what ever destination we were at. You also need the app when you are disembark. It was great to have such an informational tool at my fingertips.
You need this app to disembark ship when you reach your home port. Useful for navigating ship, open and closing times for shops and food venues, menus, what activities are happening, and keeping track of ship's time (everything runs off ship time, not local time). Nice chat feature if you're in a group. You can also see a summary of your spending, and view shore excursion options.
Most of the app works well. The chat feature is an additional cost per person and is spotty at best. Not all members of our group chat would receive messages, and if they did at drastically different times (like hours different). Having a map of where the ship , like is on the TV, would be helpful. Also, having the ability to allow notifications to yiur watch would be better.
The app is great for keeping you informed about everything pertaining to your cruise from events happening on the ship to keeping you informed about your sail and sign account. The only problem we encountered was texting. At times it took a long time to receive messages. sometimes we didn't get them at all and it was the only way at times to keep up with everyone in our party. it was a little frustrating. Otherwise the app was great
The app needs a complete make-over. When onboard, we bought the chat, but it did not work at all. The only thing that worked fairly consistently was "What's Happening." Statement worked sometimes. "Wall of Moments" did not work at at. When not onboard, nothing is intuitive. I would like to review the statement from my cruise. I don't think it's possible. In short, I hate the app. The check-in worked well
The app does what it's supposed to, mostly. The app is great in terms of checking times and things you can do on the ship. BUT, when it comes to messaging (paid feature) it is absolute garbage. The messages don't send until minutes later, the app crashes constantly when trying to message. While the app does it's job, I think it could be fixed in a few ways. This was my first cruise and overall the app was useful.
I really enjoyed having access to everything about my boat in the palm of my hand. It's the digital version of the Fun Times, but you're able to see the entire day and mark your Favorites. I was also able to get alerts through my Samsung Watch 8! Loved quick access to my account summary and the chat function. My family and I had no problems staying in touch. If you want the boat map, dining times, and other deets close at hand, this is a must.
