What a complete piece of junk. It doesn't remember where you left off in a show. That's a problem in itself. But that also means when you scrub forward to find where you left off, it forces you to watch 5 commercials. And then if that's not the right spot and you scrub ahead again, 5 more commercials. Once I found where I left off, I tried using chromecast and it would say no media selected. I tried discinnecting and reconnecting several times. This app is awful. I won't be subscribing.

You have a good choice of action drama movies. But I can't watch them because the commercials freeze up till they kick a error message. When a error message kicks up, it starts the movie back at the beginning. When I get to the second set of Comericals it kicks the error that starts the movie over again. That and the same Comericals over and over again is so damn anoying. The movie plays fine but the Comericals freeze and kick a error, so I never get to see the last half of the movie. Fix it!!!

God forbid you watch something on your phone and have to actually use your phone. I tried the free version out to get an idea, but there are SO MANY COMMERCIALS I couldn't get through one show on this app. If you minimize, sometimes it starts the show back up, but mostly, it likes to start it COMPLETELY over. But not until you watch 5 more commercials. Don't dare try to find where you left off or you will be watching 5 more! I wish I were exaggerating. Definitely not PAYING for this.

Ads always freeze. If you have to stop watching, including when ads freeze,, you can't just pick up where you left off. You have to try to remember where you were. Scroll back. Watch 4 more ads hoping if won't freeze again. You get back to it. Ads come back, freeze again. Sooooo frustrating. Service is all bars, and even happens on wifi. It's taken me 3 days to and watch a 90 min program. After I finally finishing, deleting the app. If this is how Paramount+ operates, I'm def not subscribing.

I haven't tried to use this app in months because the constant loading was annoying. I updated it today and decided to try it. It took me 10 minutes to watch the 1st 5 minutes of an episode with loading happening every 5 or 10 seconds. Then I got the error message that the episode couldn't be played at this time. Why is it the ads always seem to be with no problems? CBS fix your app. This has been an ongoing problem for years. Or better yet, allow your content on Hulu.

Ten commercial breaks in an 85 minute program. Lag and sometimes crashes, after which it didn't remember where I was, so I had to watch a commercial, tap to very roughly where I thought I'd been (because while casting it wouldn't go horizontal, so the scroll bar was tiny), more commercials, then get to resume. It took me two and a half hours to watch that 85 minute program. I stream stuff by casting all the time with nary a blip. Uninstall.

Another garbage app from Paramount. I only downloaded it to watch new Survivor. Using the free episodes function, I need to watch episodes within a few weeks because they get locked out after a while. They play ads, which are tolerable in length. My problem is the app's inability to retain the spot in a show I've begun. Can't close the app mid-episode without having to start from the beginning. Even though I've already watched the ad-breaks, the same breaks are forced. Greed FTW!

App is awful. Slow. Doesn't respond. Will load adds on my TV but keeps saying something went wrong when it comes time to play the shows. Not worth 5 dollars. Not worth 1 dollar. Awful. Not to mention you can't login with a TV provider anymore. Have to purchase the app. Also says it will give you a free month but once you put your card info in, that free month disappears. Fix your garbage app.

I downloaded this app so I could watch the new season of Survivor. Ihave yet to be successful in viewing a single episode. It just randomly stops and when I get it to start up again starts at the beginning of the episode even if I'm 25 minutes into the episode. In order to get to where I was, I have to watch at least three commercials, then forward to where I was and watch three more commercials. After watching several of these commercials, it still has difficulty loading & the process repeats

I would rather give a -5, but it isn't an option. I've been trying for a week to watch the Oprah special with Harry and Meghan. It crashes every single time. I watch 5 minutes of ads, 4 minutes of interview, and BOOM. Error, please try again later. I sent an email for support a week ago. Thank you for promptly responding. Oh wait. They didn't. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. I've managed 25 mins with at least 4x as many ads due to having to restart the app and watch ads just to skip to the stop point.

Too many advertisements in a special I'm watching. 4 or 5 ads 5 times already, and I'm not even halfway through this 1.2 hr special yet. And after the last set of ads a second ago, an error occurred within the show, and closed. So, now I have to go back and find where I last was, and restart. Go through another set of ads. That's 8-10! First ever show I watched on your app and this already happened. Hope it's not a sign of things to come. Please improve.

What a joke. I downloaded this app then couldn't do anything unless I sign up for their service when your supposed to be able to watch episodes after they air. I definitely couldn't do that. Tried on my TV but adds kept repeating or restating several times, and the show would freeze up, sometimes started over. I never did get to watch the complete episode even after trying over 3 hours

9/3/21 I appreciate that the app is free and I can still watch my shows anytime without paying. (Hence the 2 stars instead of 1.) However, it crashes all the time and I have to constantly reload it multiple times during the episode. Very very frustrating! ***Update*** 8/26/23 It's 2 years later, app still sucks and has the same exact problems! I don't care how many "updates" they do, nothing changes. Still won't smartcast worth a damn. App still crashes, buffers & won't load 90% of the time!👎

Won't play videos at all after latest update. Keeps saying I need an internet connection. The same connection let's me know which videos are available in the first place. I've had CBS apps since long before Paramount Plus was a thing. I've tried all the tricks. Still doesn't work. I'm not a programmer but I am also not a luddite. ABC, Fox and NBC work just fine.

This app is design to not work, to force you pay for the subscription. You get a few minutes of an episode, after watching several commercials then it starts buffering and eventually kicks you out. After which you are free to start watching the same commercials from the beginning, but you're never getting past that place in the episode. It's a SCAM! The developer just responded asking me to check the troubleshooting. Which suggests to force stop the app. Is 15 times during an episode enough???

I downloaded the app again, cause it's been a while since the last time I uninstalled it. It worked great for the first episode... then it wouldn't play the second episode. It just kept pausing to load, and I'd poly get a few seconds of play time before it paused again. Now I remember why I Uninstalled it the first time! I think it has such terrible playback on the free episodes, just so you'll subscribe to Paramount+ for better streaming. It's all a ploy. It's ok, I'm not interested anymore. 🤷

Freezes after numerous long commercials, then makes you watch them all again, then returns to the show several minutes beyond where you left off. When you try to use the timeline on the bottom of the screen to go back to where the show left off after all the commercials, guess what? You get the watch all the commercials again for a third time. Why would anyone ever pay for streaming that has such horrible apps and service to customers. Does this on my Samsung s22 Ultra and S8 tablet.

Despite great content, the app is a streaming nightmare. There's an extreme disconnect when transitioning from ads to programming and vice versa. It freezes a lot despite having a very strong connection (all other streaming apps work fine), and I'm often forced to close and reopen the app to get it to work again only to be forced to watch the same ads that already played. An hour long show may take me an hour and a half to watch. I dread when I get behind on a show and have to use this app.

Probably the worst experience I have had ever, the only reason I downloaded this app was to watch the Megan and Harry interview. It seemed I was back in the 80's when every thing you watched you'd be getting that circle turning indicating that it was searching or streaming for the video, even the commercials, it was painful to try and make out what they were saying. Summing up, will be deleting this app, and will never download it again, CBS your app sucks. Will tell any and all my friends.

Constantly freezes: This app used to be great, but has become incredibly frustrating. It freezes every time there's a commercial, and the only way to unfreeze is is to exit the app over and over again, and then wait 5-10 minutes while hoping it will unfreeze unfreeze of getting an error message. As a result , it frequently takes 1 hrs+ to watch a 30 minute episode of anything.
