CGTN – China Global TV Network

Used to be a good app. After updating the video turns blank when on landscape orientation. This happens to all my 3 Android devices, MI phone, MI Tablet and Galaxy phone. By the way, all the 3 devices are on Android 14. Please fix it quickly, as I don't want to be viewing on the small video screen when on portrait mode.

Ive been using this app for couple of years without any significant issues. A few days ago I decided to leave a comment under one of the news articles. After that the app stopped loading any content. It just says "network connection problem". When I turn vpn on, it works just fine.

Apps keep closing automatically and reopening as soon as you read the news. It occurred quite frequently. It's really irritating and discouraging for reading. Please, please FIX the BUG - FREQUENT INTERMITTENT AUTO APP CLOSING DOWN. THIS BUG IS VERY INFURIATING AND IRRITATING!!! PLEASE, PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM. IT IS LONG OUTSTANDING.

News stories load very slowly; videos start playing automatically (loudly) which is very annoying when you want to check the news in the evening and end up waking up your housemates. It also asks for access to cache - not even using the correct English to do so.

What a waste of time. Only snppiets of programs at best. No search of shows. Not even links to complete on YouTube or weibo or whatever. Great if you want only the latest news I suppose live, haven't really looked. Most of the news are simple text articles or snippets again.

Excellent coverage of news, but one major drawback is that I have found no way to save the articles via the share option for later reading. All other apps have this feature. Your comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for providing a platform like the CGTN News app, where I can stay updated with the latest news. The app is user-friendly and offers a good range of news articles and videos. The content quality is excellent, and I appreciate the diverse perspectives presented. However, I would like to express my disappointment in the app's inability to play audio content in the background. As an avid listener of radio news, I enjoy multitasking and staying informed while performing other tasks.

Live news feed has recently become quite poor, looking like 360p. Previously the app was flawless on my aging Android TV. Everything else works fine with good picture quality. I hope the live news picture quality can be improved: varied perspectives on world events are more needed than ever. CGTN has an important role to play and needs to put its best foot forward.

Wow, am speechless this is far beyond ma expectation. I downloaded this app because of the CGTN documentary channel and not only did i get it i got everything about CGTN and my main aim of downloading this app was to be able to watch"a history of china" but unfortunately i found out the show had gone far before i downloaded the app. I was planning to wait till the next time they will show it but luckily i discovered that you can have access to all the past videos even back to august 2017. Nice 1

For an English speaking observer this site is difficult. I found I wanted to hear the English interpreter of the Chinese speaker but the volume of the chinese speaker was so loud that it obscurred the translation almost entirely. Even english speaking messages were muffled with poor overall accoutics. A westerner cannot hear these poorly delivered messages, a perspective that needs to be heard! This site should do better!!! ... uninstalled.

Video and written reports seem to be good. However when come to graphic and still photo, which are difficult to read because zoom-in function is not available for adroit phone.

If you want to reach more people you should use the Android share function so your articles can be shared to any apps incl ones used outside China & ones you don't know about yet! Or you can keep your favourite share outlets but add 'Use Android share' as option!

The panda keep popping up and refresh the screen when reading the news. CGTN should improve your apps and make sure it is bug free before publishing it annoying feature

Great covers, however the app auto refreshes while in the middle of reading a story or watching a video. Would be nice if auto refreshing can be turned off. Improving story page loading speed can also be great help with user experience.

Very poor picture quality, I'm not sure sure why, sometimes there is a problem with audio [no audio at all]. Please make something to improve the picture quality on TV app at least.

This is a text based app which does not contain videos with voice narrations, quite disappointed. I watched CGTN for about 2 months when I was in China and found it impressive, hope this app will be improved soon.

Love to read the articles the way it is written. All these years I've been reading english news articles from western or indian sources but what i liked most is the chinese flavour in the english haha every country has it's own but to me it is new for instance I read about an article about a popular banyan tree n how it is attracting tourist n bringing wealth to the locals. Now in writing a news article other countries usually avoid the "bringing wealth to locals" part but i like the chinese way.And another thing is the way of address a person as "the man/lady surnamed...." this i like too.Hope though this cgtn i will get to know more about the country.

Great app but with room for improvements:-1)shud've dark mode for reading comfort. 2)landscape mode shud be auto when toggle for full-screen without adjusting from device during vid-streaming. 加油CGTN n have a great day !!

Apps does not update latest news and development at all. Since installation for past weeks, there were no changes to the news.. Same news as at date of installation... Hopless

V good app, has live news and cgtn documentary which allows playback of channels. App works very well in my phone and I usually cast the live news to my TV
