The wait list feature is completely broken. Sometimes it will tell me I am first in line for stations I am watching, and as I watch cars leave I see others go in ahead of me. Then when my spot comes up, the app doesn't notify me until it's too late to accept it. Then I rejoin the queue and silently get dropped from it. All this amid the app telling me 75% of the time that it's having trouble contacting the servers.

The combination of app issues and the (apparently no longer maintained) charging stations at my workplace makes for an inconsistent and sometimes frustrating charging experience. This includes stations not showing up, the "start charging" button disappearing if you click off and reopen the same station too soon, the app inconsistently not zooming into my location, and no way to disable email notifications for charging status. The same issues have been ongoing for several years.

Won't update status. used to work fine for almost an year. used to show current status if the charger is connected to car or not. now it always shows connected and ready to charge even when not plugged. I have the same app on iOS device does the same. reinstall did not fix. worked with Chargepoint tech support but seems helpless to fix. My EV app by GM shows the status correct.

This app is infuriating. First, they put a $50 hold on your card as soon as you try to initiate a session, the hold wont drop off for 4 days. Even if the station is having issues and won't start a charge, the hold remains. Next, if you change payment method, it texts you a four digit code to verify it. I never receive it the first time, and must select "resend code." You get three attempt to verify, after which, you can no longer change payment method. Resending a code counts as 2 verifications.

No longer properly supported.... I've used this app on my iPhone for years but as soon as I've moved to Android it's stopped being a seamless experience. It used to be a quick call could resolve issues; now it's overseas support that's slow to pick up at best. NFC shouldn't have to be required, but if it is because you haven't found another way to clearly identify stations, than please tell your users while they're waiting in the rain to charge their cars. It doesn't seem like you field test.

Chargepoint has a bad habit of making changes without readily informing their customers about them. A while ago, they changed things so that it automatically opted customers into averaging out their last month's worth of charges and then adding that as a balance on the account. Seems convenient, but not when you suddenly have a large charge you didn't expect. Now they have implemented a $50-75 hold per charging session. Every session. This was the last straw, no longer using these stations.

I've been using Charge point since Oct 2025, and mostly have no issue with the app. I've had payment declined twice for no reason. (credit card with high limit to include $50 hold and the $4 final charge). Inconvenient. Also not all charging stations are live with updates. App showed 25 minutes of charge while I left it charging for 2hrs. Thankfully my Lexus App tells me the charge time left, but inconvenient.

I've had my review responded to twice. the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid has still not been listed despite the comments saying something along the lines of them passing the information on or whatever. But as of late, charger is now off by an hour as if it never did the time change. we've never had this happen before and I can't find any setting in there to do it.

Constantly unable to connect to the server while my other apps function just fine with my signal AND/OR Wi-Fi. What a waste of time. Oh and when I had a station start charging, the app didn't recognize any activity. So I don't get to know when it's done charging and when they start charging me for parking. I called in and they simply said wait. Awful customer service. I hope these issues are being dealt with. But to me, it seems like making money is the priority here, not good service.

Charging hasn't worked through this app in a month! Somehow my card was charged 5xs $75 and an error has happened telling me an obvious available charger is not available, all chargers have 0 network, or they are charging. I plug in, scan my charger point card, you'd think it would be a simple push of the apps "Start Charging" button. I am so over the EV, all of these stations and apps are unreliable.

chargepoint plugs always break. the little plastic piece that locks the charger into the port is used the most but breaks the most frequently. why use cheap plastic?always breaks & charger is useless. & if ur at a charging location w no cell service or Wi-Fi, you can't even report a problem! app says TAKE a photo while standing there. u can't upload photos later when u have signal. so stupid. also, when calling Customer Service for assistance, they're not quick. Be ready to hold a long while...

They broke it. Used to be fine, now it constantly has "network errors" and can't load stations, active charging status, or history, even when on perfect wifi connections. Even when it can load, it often fails to update status or history. You complete a long charge and the monthly stats will show zero kw/h. Get it together, Chargepoint

How is this app still so awful? "Cannot communicate with server" constantly. Cannot join waitlist. Cannot do anything. Now Im stuck in an active charging session even though I unplugged my car 2 days ago. Clicking end session gives an error. Trying to contact support though the app gives an error "unsupported browser" Can't charge. Can't join waitlist. Can't contact support.

impossible to tell whether a station is actually publicly available. stations sometimes falsely claim the car is done charging. interface to find an assigned station is highly misleading. detection for station availability is bad and told me a station was finally open... at 11PM, long after id given up and every station in the area was vacant. would recommend only to my worst enemy.

I don't know why, but you need to constantly have $75 in your account in order to charge. on top of that they might charge you and get a system error. support is impossible to get a hold of with no solution to contact support over the phone. app is very cheaply made I could probably do the same thing in like 5 minutes my damn self.

The app has really gone downhill. It barely functions anymore, not showing stations, so I can't join the waitlist, not showing my vehicle charging so I can't check status, and just having errors over and over. It used to work really well, what happened? It is like this on both my devices (android and apple).

I paid the better part of $1000 to buy and install a home charger. The charger works fine, but I use it less because the app required to control it is absolutely useless. I mainly use the level 1 charger that came with the vehicle. The charger and the app do not communicate properly. I cannot tell my charger to charge or stop charging more than half the time. The scheduled charge fails to work consistently, which is a huge issue when I'm relying on 80+ miles of charge for my daily commute.

Trash product and primitive app. The first charger I received was defective; it did not connect to Wi-Fi. The replacement connected to Wi-Fi but only for a month or two before it stopped working. And now even the charging stopped working intermittently. Tried to get another warranty replacement, but they've just decided to stop answering emails.

overall, the home station is a good quality and built. but...controlling station through application is a really horrible experience. for example, to stop the charging session, so I can take the cable out of the car, either it takes 5-7 tries rebooting the application or 90% of time I have to shut down breakers in the electrical panel. otherwise, the charging session cannot stop. if they could fix this issue/bug, it would 4/5 star product.

Expensive and inconsistent. While I understand this is not a high-speed charger, I expect I'd at least be notified when charging, which typically takes hours, is finished. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't, and that's been the case for a long time...so they get to charge idling fees. Apparently I have to set my own alarm and guess when I should come back. Unfortunately it seems the inconsistent notification is not a priority to fix since it was a revenue generator. I'll go elsewhere
