app has potential but it needs updating or worked on. it kept making us angry as it was saying things didn't exist there even after typing in odd ways. it didn't have a clue. also it took us in the wrong direction for about 5 minutes multiple times, then the map span in circles then told us to go another way. one time I new where I was, I tested it for land of the dragons. it was down 1 path. it stated 10 min walk the other way. old school paper worked out more reliable!
Didn't work while at the resort
Really easy to use and the maps part is excellent at giving route to the next location etc. Booking the "reserve and ride" thing was great, once another user had explained how to work it. instructions not as clear as the could have been and the app seems to eat phone batteries, meaning no access to bookings if you don't start with a full battery. good, though
The App was difficult at times to navigate which way to go when trying to get to find a ride, but with the help of staff it wasn't so bad. I liked that it showed the timing, directions and reminders for the kids Cocomelon dance event showing how many minutes it takes to get there. It said that the Mandrill Mayhem ride was closed on the App and when we got to the Jumanji rides, you had to scan a QR code and register which put me off as I'm not that tech savvy. I really wanted to go on that ride.
The wait times in the app change seemingly at random, when they are there at all (which they often weren't). And over the day were rarely in sync with the wait time displayed on the screens outside the ride. The day schedule is a nice idea poorly executed. If it hadn't completely frozen twice in 1 day I'd have given it 3 stars.
Very poor app. The map is so confusing. If you can use location settings and GPS to show which way you are facing and direction of travel that would help everyone save time. The queue wait times are false, one of the rides stated 15mins, in actual fact is was 1hr or so. The only useful part was downloading the tickets and car park pass on the app. Besides that the app is useless.
As others have said, a good start but needs A few tweaks - put the toilets on the map! Allow user to zoom in closer, so they can see the distinction between the 5 icons that are almost on top of each other... And allow searching by name/reordering, e.g in the wait time list, allow ordering by ride name, not just by wait time! It was certainly handy to have, but could have been less frustrating ;-)
Myself and my daughter downloaded this as we thought it would be a great resource - a map for finding our way around the theme park, and for getting updates about waiting times for rides However we hadn't anticipated how slow it was. The screen kept freezing all the time. It was impossible to zoom or navigate the map and we didn't trust update info as often it was clearly incorrect. Poor phone signal could have been the problem. Advice: print out a map before travel. No maps available on site.
It is a great place, but I would expect more staff to be around in order to guide newcomers. Also more direction boards, with arrows, would be useful to show the way to the park from the main outside entrance to the parking spaces. Initially I was confused I was in the wrong parking and made my way out to the exit, and did a circle and back to the entrance. It took me 20 minutes to find out where to park since there were no clear instructions where to go.More guides and instructions would help.
It's ok, sort of does the job but if I lock my phone and go back to the app, it struggles to load the wait times. It's easier to close and reopen app, no option to refresh wait times. Accessing map was alright I guess. Seems a little clunky hence my average rating as I think it could be better. Wait times were not very accurate.
The idea is great - pre-plan your visit and know which rides are appropriate for smaller visitors, etc. Unfortunately, it doesn't work well and is very clunky. The map, whilst functional, is covered by advertising or a ride list (not ideal when on a small phone), the app added 6 copies of everything to my plan, which made it impossible to put anything in any kind of order. There's so much potential but it just doesn't work quite right!
You can filter by age, height, activity etc. Use GPS to find where you are and how to get to where you want to go. App does consume a lot of power so keep a powerbank handy, or simply take a picture of the park map(s) found around the park. For disabled or other ride passes, you end up using a website, rendering the app even more useless. CHESSINGTON, please link the app with reserve and ride, provide better FAQs for both, and give a location facing like on most map apps. Also, train your staff.
Terrible navigation around the park. The iOS version lets you zoom in much further and also gives you a clear indication of which way you're facing. This Android version does neither so we spent the day using my partners iPhone to find our way round.
The map isn't a map; it's a picture. It doesn't function as a map because there are too many cartoons on it and very few distinguishable landmarks. The only way to navigate is to get the app to show you a route to the next ride and walk around aimlessly until you work out which way to go. Ride times massively inaccurate (we queued for 1 hour when the app showed a 5 minute queue and other terrible similar events). No useful information about restaurants.
It's useful but the ride queue times aren't always up to date and it's difficult to find the rind you're looking for without clicking on every icon to find it. It would help if you could search for a ride and it would highlight where it is on the map.
Why no physical maps!? Not sure if an app issue or from the park side but it showed attractions open all day that were not and vice versa, said gruffalo was closed so we left it to walk past and see it fully open! Not sure why parks seem to think an app based map is a good idea! Very hard to navigate while staring at your phone, also after afew hours of using fast track and map phone was dead by 1pm so we only got to use fast track twice.
Generally works but with big issues. 1. The planner mode doesn't work. I tried it before the park opened and when I was at the park, it crashes every time. 2. Please add toilets to the map! 3. Struggles to connect when at the park (while Whatsapp works fine) - it shows alerts instead of useful info. Back to the home page and then back to queue times and it works again. 4. Queue times are wildly off: joined Dragon's Fury when it said 60mins. We queued 2 full hours to get on! My son was furious.
Awful app and now an awful place in general. way too busy to the point where they can't handle the amount of guests they let in. You can supposedly book slot times for rides but as soon as you try you will find out they are fully booked and you have to spend the day refreshing your phone only to be constantly disappointed. If you want to spend a day queuing in long lines and having zero fun, then come to chessington
Good information of the line lengths and made it easier to organise our selve on what to do. Though the map isn't the best and the line wait may be listed as 30min but some ride move along faster and this isn't taken into account.
Good to see the live queue times, but planner is very glitchy. There isn't a confirmation screen once a guest is added, so ended up adding loads of guests by accident and subsequently having to delete them. The app also lacks an obvious feature that I would most recommend. When you view ride or attraction details, there isnt a map button to click in and view on the interactive map. The app could be so much better and more useful if they ironed out and improved customer-focused usability issues
